      Perfect location!

Left on 02/01/2013 for a stay in January 2013

This property was the perfect location for our mini ski holiday. We were literally right across the street from Lift 7 and the Gondola was only a few blocks away. A grocery store was located less than half a block from our condo which was great; we saved money by not eating out. The other plus was that by parking in the ally we could access the rental from the outdoor patio instead of going through the main entrance. The only drawbacks that we observed were that the rental could have used some throw rugs near the entry ways; with all of the snow on boots the floors got wet.
The other thing was that the bed in the master bedroom was very squeaky!!! My kids got a good laugh but it was uncomfortable to sleep on. My kids were delighted with the jet tub in the condo but when they turned on the jets, black goo shot out. The kids also loved the community hot tub and steam room.
Despite the goo in the jet tub we would probably stay again, if the squeaky bed got fixed.

Thank you for your valuable review. Location, location, location.
As to your suggestions for area rugs and un-squeaking the bed, we will pass these on to the owner. We're always happy to hear about what we can do better.
Sorry about the jets; we'll have those cleaned and tested right away! The condo just came into our rental family, and that obviously was something we missed.

      disappointed

Left on 08/11/2010 for a stay in August 2010

My wife and I stayed at alpine lodge last year and had an enjoyable time. We were disappointed with this condo. It has a very sour smell to it, seemed to be caused from water damage from the upstairs washer area. Probably the main reason the down stairs bath is remodeled, which also did not drain properly, it was almost to the top of the shower pan by the time a shower was done. Hard to believe this place could go for up to $389 night. I think next year we'll camp.

Sorry to hear of your disappointment. I do wish we had known of the slow drain during your visit, as the building engineer is quite handy at clearing those pipes. He'll get that done before our next arrival. We'll investigate the smell.
Camping is a good option when the weather turns out as sweet as we had for this year's Jazz Festival. Chilling afternoon rains kicked back in shortly after - so just remember to pack the down jacket.
(And just for clarification, rates start at $159 in summer. Christmas-NewYears is the highest season, topping out at $389.)

      Pleasant & well equiped condo

Left on 07/06/2009 for a stay in June 2009

We found the condo clean and very well equiped. A complete kitchen with every basic tool, complete sets of knives pots, etc allowed us to save money by preparing half of our meals. No need to get stuck with only a microwave & hotplate - I was able to make full course meals. Also were able to do a load of wash!
Location is a short walk from the free gondola to Mountain Villa. It's a little more walking to walk to and around the center of town. OK for anyone who is reasonably fit, even if older. If you have physical problems, recognize that the condo is multi-level and has stairs.
There is a great market immediately adjacent to the complex. While a bit pricey, every thing you need, they have.
Only complaint is we brought a few movies - they played fine but the TVs were ancient 4:3 Tubes. But this is not very important on vacation.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review Telluride Lodge condo 314. I'm glad you were able to make use of the full kitchen and that you appreciate the other amenities in the condo. Mountain Village is just a short gondola ride from the town of Telluride, and I'm glad you found the walk to the gondola convenient. I will pass on your concerns about the televisions to the owners; the owners of this condo are always looking for ways to improve the guest's stay. Thanks for staying at the Telluride Lodge and please keep us in mind for future trips to Telluride!
