Monument, COPerfect Place to Stay!
Left on 04/04/2013 for a stay in March 2013
The aspen Street Inn is a perfect place to stay during your Telluride vacation! The owners are there every day, so the place is in great shape. They are very friendly and will greet you by name every morning. It has a very home-like feel to it - we walked down to breakfast in our socks every morning. It's located in the heart of Telluride - everything is within walking distance, and the free Gondola is a one-minute walk from the Inn. Highly recommended!

Grand Rapids, MIComfortable room and fantastic breakfast
Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We stayed in the first room near the entrance of the B&B.; It was quiet despite people coming and going. The bathroom was spacious but the tile floor was quite cold as it bordered an outside wall. The breakfast was fantastic. Made to order and al-a-carte items were available. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Parking under the building was a tight squeeze and we did not have a larger SUV or mini-van. We chose to park on the street instead (for free). We noticed that most of the guests seemed to be age 60 or older.

Thanks for your review and we do appreciate the time you took to share your experience. We have to say that no matter what our guests age, we love them all because they all have good taste in lodging :). Well, ok, there was that one guy that was a handful, but by and large, our guests rock!

I can think of nothing to say bad about the aspen St Inn. The Inn itself is clean. The breakfast is always good. The managers are wonderful people. We have no desire to try out any other hotels or B & B's. We look forward to staying here next year. So close to everything.

We enjoyed our stay at the aspen Street Inn and are already planning our next visit. The location was great; we didn't move the car once the entire time we were there. We never had breakfast at the Inn so can't comment on that but over all we were very happy. Our only issue was that our room, the argentine, was sandwiched between the kitchen and the lobby with a busy street on the other side. This made it a very noisy room, especially when breakfast got started in the morning. The owners were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay.

The apsen Street Inn is a very nicely decorated and comfortable B and B in the Heart of Telluride. Park your car and leave it for the rest of your stay. You can walk everywhere from here.
Our room, The argentine was closest to the entrance and desk. It has a king bed and a nice large bay window sill for your pets, should you bring one with you, as the aspen Street is wonderfully pet friendly.
It has a very nice breakfast each morning from 7-10am. There are pre-made scrambles, hashbrowns, oatmeal and pastries or you can special order pancakes, omelettes, and thick link sausages.
Heather and Bruce, your hosts are so very nice and always welcome you with a smile.Response from Telluride Alpine Lodging - 07/21/2012

Great place to stay in Telluride and the gondola is only a block away. Staff were very friendly, which included a great breakfast. Also, they were very helpful with jumpstarting our vehicle when the battery went dead. The only issue was that the room was very warm at night despite setting the thermostat to a low temperature. Other than that, you can't go wrong with this B&B;.

Thank you for your review. The structure was built in the 80's with character in mind and every room has it's own shower and toilet. In several rooms such as Argentine, the toilet is separate from the garden tub/shower and some rooms have the toilet near the shower.. Each room is different from the next . You may want to try Palmyra, La Junta, Alta or Black Bear room if you return to Aspen Street Inn in the future.

Left on 09/14/2011 for a stay in September 2011
I had a very nice stay. The location was great, and the room was quite nice. Only two nitpicks. 1. I traveled with a dog, and the website told me that dogs were OK, but failed to mention the $30 per night pet fee. 2. the bathtub and tile were fairly heavily stained.
Response from Telluride Alpine Lodging - 09/15/2011

Thank you for sharing this information with us. You booked through Inntopia and we will look into this concerning not having the pet fee listed. A pet fee is standard in the accommodations business, however.

The Inn and it's friendliness and intermingling with guests were extremely favorable. The room we were provided proved to be poor. Although comfortable and clean, two issues need to be resolved. One, the sound of drainage from upper floor piping coming through the wall throughout the night and Second, no way to eliminate street light into the room.
Response from Telluride Alpine Lodging - 10/12/2010

Thank you for your review and we are sorry the sound of the water in the pipes and outside lighting kept you awake. These things will be addressed to see what can be done.

Left on 09/22/2010 for a stay in September 2010
The price was very high. The room was very stuffy. In order to get air into the room we had to open the windows which opened us up to a high noise level from the street and no privacy (people walking by looking directly into the room). This B&B; offered a breakfast that was disorganized (although the staff did try) and very overcooked eggs. All of the complaints we can live with but at such a high price, we would expect more.

This was our third annual stay at this inn. Our first stay was very enjoyable and we couldn't wait to bring some frieds to stay in the same hotel the next year. It did not live up to our expectations, but we decided to give it one more try this year. We will not be back. First, most of the hotel was booked with a group from Florida. Since we were probably the only non-Floridians in the hotel, we felt as though we were outcasts. The Florida group occupied the dining area every night for a wine social. Previously, the inn hosted the social and all were invited. Every morning they camped out in the dining room, leaving very few places to sit. Every morning, the same people occupied the room when we got there and were still there when we finished. They were rude, abnoxious, and seemed to think they owned the place. Nothing I saw from the management seemed to counter this observation. Next, the sitting room has been converted to another hotel room, leaving a much smaller area for eating and relaxing. The food was plentiful but plain. We had become accustomed to gormet fare. We took one day off from skiing and decided to enjoy the quiet of the dining room to do some reading. While we were there, two hotel staff members came into the dining room for lunch and turned up the volume of a Spanish-speaking TV station. We left the area feeling unwelcome and unimportant. Our room was very noisy, with people above us stomping around at all hours, Floridians partying in the dining area, and water flushing in the drain lines. There were no tissues provided in the room (we used our own) and on our first night, I had to track down the manager to obtain toilet paper for the bathroom. And by the way, the same ski rental discount that was advertised for TAL guests applied to anyone booking skis through rentskis.com. I am so disappointed in this experience, I will likely not return to Telluride for several years, and will not stay at a TAL property.

Dan,
Thank you for taking the time to review your most recent stay at the Aspen Street Inn. We're sorry your expereience wasn't 100% satisfactory. The Aspen Street Inn is a very popular group location and you happened to visit Telluride on one of the busiest week's of the winter. The common areas are open to any and every guest staying at the Inn, but that is no reason for them to be rude or unwelcoming. Also, our rentskis.com website is exclusive to only our guests and is a considerable discount than waiting to book in town. We're sorry your experience was disappointing but we do offer over 300 other properties than the Aspen Street Inn - this review will gain you Mountain Bucks to use on a future stay. Thank you for your review and we look forward to having you back in Telluride soon! -
