      Best location & breakfast

Left on 04/25/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We stayed here for closing weekend at Telluride and we are glad we did! It was perfectly located to the gondola that takes you to the mountain resort and restaurants/bars for a very quaint, yet fun downtown. Though small, the nightlife is great in Telluride and the aspen Inn puts you right in the middle of it, with just a 5 minute walk. Plus how can I not mention Bruce and Heather, the managers of the inn, who are incredibly easy to talk to, make you a choose your own breakfast (I had an egg benedict for one morning) and they make your stay just a little bit better. I think this place is a little more in price to its competitor but you get what you pay for. Don't skimp on this place, you might regret it.

An Outstanding value, excellent location and friendly staff

Left on 04/03/2013 for a stay in March 2013

I've stayed at the aspen Street Inn on two occasions and would highly recommend staying there. The Crown Jewel was an especially nice room with a small private balcony facing east, which was great for having coffee in the morning. Very clean with all the amenities. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed the breakfast variety and choices. Once we parked the vehicle under the Inn on street level, it didn't move until we had to sadly leave. It can't be 100 yards from the gondola and everything else is pretty much within stumbling distance away.

      Amazing!

Left on 01/12/2013 for a stay in December 2012

First of all, Heather and Bill, the managers are super nice and extremely helpful. The room was so nice and a great price. It was extremely clean, large, and comfortable to live in. The breakfast served in the morning was fantastic and filling! The location is great - 1 block from the gondola and 1 block from main street. We will definitely be staying here from now own. I have nothing to complain about!
      P.S
Every night Heather and Bill served fresh baked, delicious, cookies that are a perfect treat after a long day of skiing!

      Convenient, friendly, great breakfast

Left on 10/04/2012 for a stay in October 2012

Great in-town location steps from the gondola, Aspen Street Inn has great free breakfasts for guests ( Arturo's salas and tamales rock!). Heather and Steve are friendly and helpful. No maid service if you're there less than 5 days and the Venetian blinds were falling apart. I liked the private deck off my room and the outdoor tables. A bit weird layout as the toilet is in a separate area from the sink and shower.

      Telluride Alpine Lodging

      Manager

Thank you for your review and we are happy that you enjoyed your stay. I am also happy to report that the blinds are being repaired as we speak. Instead of pulling the blinds back with the chain, they get opened and closed by people taking hold of them and pulling on them which pulls the vanes out of their sockets.

To clarify the housekeeping policy, it is true that a housekeeper cleans if you stay 5 days or more. If your stay is less than 5 days, in order to comply with the green initiative with the EcoAction Partners we do not offer maid service, rather we have housekeeping closets on both ends of first and second floors that guests may help themselves to extra towels and toiletries as needed. Upon checkin, we tell our guests that if they do need attention to their room, to please inform us and we will get it done because the most important thing is for our guests to be comfortable. This policy has worked well and saved not only resources but expense which gets passed on to the guest. This is partly why Aspen Street Inn can offer affordable rates in Telluride.

The Victorian style of the building lends itself to "character" as we in the lodging business like to refer and yes, it is a little different. All seventeen rooms do have their own private tub, shower and toilet.

      SIncerely,

      Overall, a great stay!

Left on 09/26/2012 for a stay in September 2012

The room was very nice and the staff was excellent. They made the stay a positive experience. There were only two problems with the room. The twin beds were rock hard, although the couch sleeper was okay. We heard this complaint from another person in Telluride who had stayed at the inn. The other issue was a mildewy odor in the bathroom that we could never identify the origin of. Managers Heather and Bruce White were great and the homemade cookies in the afternoons were a pleasant treat. The close proximity to Telluride's downtown and the gondola was very helpful. Overall, the stay was a very good one.

My wife & I stayed at the aspen Street Inn & the accomodations, great cooked to order breakfast choices, owners/managers, staff & location all awesome. Every need was met promptly & graciously. The only minor complaint was the mattress was firmer than I like. That`s why we have a Sleep Number mattress at home. The location is 1 block from the gondola & 1 block from main street shopping & restaurants. This is an excellent B & B. In our many trips to Telluride, this is at the top of our list. We plan to stay here again.

I have stayed many times at the Inn when it was the San Sophia.
The location is perfect and our hosts were very attentive, and
      made our stay just fine.

I was a little disappointed when I called the reservation telephone
number, and they led me to believe that the Inn didn't exist. I had to track down the number and call
direct. The reservation number tried to put my wife and I into
a rental home of some sort. All I wanted was the old San Sophia.

We enjoyed our overnight stay at The aspen Street Inn. The breakfast was very complete and delicious in a pleasant atmosphere. The Inn is conveniently located close to downtown main street for restaurants and shopping. It was fun taking our Lewellyn English Setter dog for a free ride on the nearby gondola.
Our only suggestions for you would be to furnish kleenex in the bathroom. Since Telluride advertises being dog friendly, we did not expect to pay extra for our dog. We spent the previous night at a very nice Best Western in Montrose which was less expensive, very nice breakfast and no extra charge for a dog.

Thank you for your review. Ordinarily there should be tissue in every room and I apologize that there was not. Since we do not offer daily housekeeping, we do try to inform every guest that if they need any usual items to let us know and we will provide them. Concerning the pet fee, our housekeeper, Cielo, is very diligent in cleaning our rooms particularly since most of the lower floor rooms are pet friendly ( all but one of our 2nd floor rooms do not allow pets.) She does have to take extra time to insure that the room is absolutely Spotless (pun intended) for the next guest's enjoyment and comfort.

Thanks for your review. We added a little spice just last week called, "Bacon Salt". We offer both original and hickory flavor. Is it the zero calorie, zero fat, vegetarian, kosher certified seasoning salt that makes everything taste like real bacon. Arturo and Pedro are careful to not overspice the food and to make guajillo and serrano salsas that add the kick as well as offering Tabasco on the tables.

Great value and enjoyed our stay!

Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in July 2011

We had a great stay at the aspen Street Inn. It's a very comfortable place, and the accommodations suited us well. We had a few surprises that were easily remedied. First, the website said that there was 1.5 baths in the room, but it is really 1 bath split up. Sink and shower in one location, and toilet in a closet separate from the rest. We could deal with that pretty easily, but if you book Crown Jewel, just know that it is really 1 full bath. We arrived before 9 p.m., and the reception was supposed to be open until 9, but they had left early for the day. They left all of the check-in stuff in a locked box, but we did not have the information to get into the box until we called. I suspect they typically send that information out, but maybe it just didn't get to us. Again, not a problem, but if you are arriving late, you might call to make sure you know what to do for check-in. Also parking is $10/night if you park in the garage. I don't think we knew that ahead of time, but we were happy to pay the fee since we had a lot of things in our car from a week of camping.

Aside from those very minor things, the stay was lovely, the owners/operators were very gracious and kind, and we thought the breakfast was wonderful! We will definitely plan a return trip!

Thank you for your review. Aspen Street Inn is staffed from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and that is why we post the night phone above the lockbox for your guest packet if you are arriving late. I do apologize that you were not aware of this and I am glad it was not a huge issue. We do post on all our extranet sites that we have garage parking for a cost and free onstreet parking with a permit.

Please come back anytime and thank you again.

Left on 07/15/2011 for a stay in June 2011

The room was perfect for myself, daughter, and son. We had breakfast every morning and I enjoyed sitting on the veranda drinking my coffee looking at the mountains. Close to the gondolas, close to Elk Park and an easy walk to the festival grounds. Bruce and Heather are awesome hosts it was a lot like staying in their home. We hope we can visit with them again next year. Parking is available, and it's bad otherwise. Price wasn't bad, but, it was quite high during the Bluegrass festival.

we had a wonderful stay at aspen street inn. while it was a little challenging checking in (no one is there full time), heather let us pick our room out of all that was available. she was wonderful! the room was very clean and large, with a little sitting room. furnishings were older, but in good condition and spotless. it was perfect for our stay. the inn is about 1.5 blocks from the main street.
      we would definitely return.

Although I would have liked to have had more frequent maid service since our suite was only serviced twice in our four day visit, the overall stay was very enjoyable. The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly, the location was excellent, and the continental breakfasts were superb!

Indeed our housekeeping policy is a full room clean and linen change every 4th day, however we do attempt to accommodate your needs and wishes if you need more towels, toiletries or trash removed at any time. Thanks for your thoughts and input.

Staff were especially friendly and helpful. Whenever we had requests, they
were met. Our bed was very comfortable and having an additional space
allowed us to visit with family in the evening.
We have stayed here 10 times. We always take advantage of the hot tub.
The location is great, a very short walk to the gondola! We like staying in town
and walking to restaurants and shops.

      Reasonable value, great location

Left on 10/21/2009 for a stay in October 2009

The Inn was fine, but nothing special. The Crown Jelwel Room is large but oddly shaped. The TV is very small and can only be seen from the bed (to the side). The toilet is very private (in its own "room") but the only sink is across the room in with the tub/shower. Breakfast was very ordinary. It's a great, central location with everything in town within walking distance. The gondola is only 1 block away.

Left on 09/03/2009 for a stay in August 2009

My family and I stayed for two nights. The room was clean and the breakfast was delicious. The inn-keepers were very helpful in planning out activities and places to eat. The location was central to the town of Telluride and close to the free Gondola that takes you take to Mountain Village. If and when I return to Telluride, I would stay here again.

Concerns with breakfast at the Aspen Street B&B

Left on 08/24/2009 for a stay in August 2009

We stayed at the Aspen Street B& B in August. We enjoyed are room and the location of the Inn. However, the first morning we had breakfast, there was a long hair in our egg dish. The second morning, there was tin foil in our egg dish.

I recommend the Inn Keeper speaks to the Chef. It was very disconcerting.

Nice Inn but the management and services were extremely lacking.

Left on 07/10/2009 for a stay in July 2009

The room had no dresser for clothes. The closet had three coat hangers.

We asked if there was ice available and even though there was a kitchen for breakfast, no ice was available. (Told to go down the street and buy a bag of ice from the grocery store. "Great but where do I put it?"

Asked if there were extra pillows available - the ones on the bed were about the size of a postage stamp - Answer - "no, the company that owns the Inn does not allow us any extra pillows for the rooms."

We will look for other accomadations before we stay there again.
