We stay here almost exclusively when we go to Telluride. Heather, Bruce and Pedro run the Inn and are the greatest hosts. The rooms are all different and cozy. Breakfast is included, and if you've been to T-ride, you know that it can get pricey to get breakfast like the one you get at aspen St. It's a great value and great location. Stay here!

Denver COBluegrass weekend in Telluride.
Left on 07/22/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The service was very good both before our arrival and during our stay. The room in the B&B; was well kept and appropriately furnished. I was also lucky enough to use the garage for my motorcycle, during the busy Telluride Bluegrass weekend, as the B&B; was central to the activities. It was unseasonably hot, so we opened the windows and used the fan in the room, but because there were no screens on the windows, some insects were sucked in. Turning off the fan, closing the window while we removed the bugs, then opening the window and placing the fan in another position remedied the problem. Screens on the windows would be helpful, if air conditioning capability is not planned in the future.

We thank you for your review and appreciate your comments. We are indeed getting screens for all the rooms very soon as we ordered them a month ago. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and hope you return when possible.

The good: too many things to mention. I enjoyed my stay from the location to the breakfast to the room. I would definately stay here again.
The intersting: the toilet is in a room by its self - no issues. The shower is partially in the room. The shower is a few stairs higher so anyone else in not looking into the shower, but there is a limit to the privacy. A great room, but something you may want to know up front. I would stay in this room again.Response from Telluride Alpine Lodging - 02/28/2012

We are happy you enjoyed Aspen Street Inn and hope you do stay again. Yes, being a Victorian structure, nearly every room is a different layout. There are 8 rooms of our 17 that do not contain steps. There are 4 rooms that have a more open area to the shower or no door to the shower. The rest have pocket doors for privacy. Thank you for pointing this information out.

A must-visit place ran by a nice family. Availability of parking at the hotel's territory makes a trip even more comfortable. Location is just a few steps away from the ski lifts and, at the same time, just a few steps from the central street.

Aspen Street Inn is very inviting. The hotel is perfectly clean and well kept. Location is perfect in town. Everything is close: gondola, restaurants, hiking trails etc etc. The innkeepers Heather and her husband Bruce take care of you like you are family rather than an anonymous hotel guest. They create a very pleasant atmosphere for all guests. We had two dogs with us and that worked out just perfectly fine. We stayed in Smuggler which is just inside the main door so it was an easy in and out.
Breakfast each morning is prepared by a dedicated cook and you can fill up with good food for a long hike during the day.
It seems like the typical guest at aspen Street In is an outgoing person. Many nice conversations with other guests.
One night it was a little noisy outside our window. That is the only complaint that we have.
Definitely a place you should consider if you are looking for a hotel either for one night or longer.

We do thank you for taking the time to review Aspen Street Inn. Occasionally along Pacific Avenue there will be a rowdy (out-of-towner, of course!) walking along at night that the 4 four rooms along Pacific Avenue might hear. The rooms along the south wing don't seem to experience this. We look forward to a return visit when you can come back.

Left on 08/31/2011 for a stay in August 2011
I was a bit disappointed with my experience at the aspen Street Inn. I had specifically requested a room (Gold-King)for some of its features and its view of the mountains. I had received a confirmation letter for this room. When I arrived, I was put in another room without being notified (Sheridan)which lacked the vaulted ceilings that I desired and the room did not face the mountains as I had requested. I did not have my confirmation letter available at check-in but was able to download it later to confirm that I was in the wrong room later in the evening. I mentioned this the next morning as I checked out and they told me that I was changed because the 'Gold-King' room did not have the king bed that I had requested. I asked why I was not notified about the change and they did not give me an answer. I the room that I stayed in did not have air conditioning and had pet odors in the carpet. In the morning, coffee was served at 6:30am and they had run out of coffee by 6:45am. They did manage to make more coffee shortly and the breakfast was very good. My experience would have been much better if I had been given the room that I had reserved, or if I had been notified of the change. I asked to be compensated for my inconvenience and the B&B; representative would not even consider this. I will not return to the aspen Street Inn. I felt that they tried to 'pull a fast one' on me and did not appreciate this.
Response from Telluride Alpine Lodging - 09/08/2011
Manager
We apologize for these things that you found insufficient and hope you can accept our apology. We certainly do not try to pull fast ones on any of our guests, but occasionally do need to move guests for extenuating circumstances.
Concerning the pet odor, Sheridan room is not a pet friendly room and upon our inspection did not detect an odor or any stains that may create an odor. We strictly enforce this policy for guests who may have allergies.
As it is posted in our dining room and as we told you upon check-in, breakfast is served from 7:00-10:00 am. Front desk staff comes in at 7:00 to assist the cook at that time. Prior to that, Arturo and Pedro are busy preparing the breakfast for our guests.
We are sorry for any of our guests to have a disappointing experience here. Telluride Alpine Lodging has many fine accommodations that may better suit your needs.
Sincerely,
Heather White

This was our first visit to Telluride and it was great. A worker at the Visitor Center told us he had daily updates on hotel vacancies in the area and connected us with the aspen Street Inn. We were pleasantly surprised. Pedro checked us in and gave us hints at what to do in the area. We parked the van for 2 days in their underground parking and enjoyed the river walk, free gondola, and many shops and restaurants.

I enjoyed staying at the alpine Lodge. The only problem we had was the room seemed larger on the photos when we booked. We had three people in our party and ended up getting an additional room when we realized how small the room was and that the room to the shower didn't have a door. Luckily there was additional availability for the night.

We have stayed in this location many times prior the change of ownership, we where very satisfied with all the previous visits.
Our last visit was a bit of a disappointing. The bed was in need of replacement, the breakfasts where just OK... lack of the happy hour was missed for sure.
If the bar wasn't set so high by San Sofia I probably would have rated the stay a little higher.
The Management staff was did make us feel very welcomed.
We have stayed at other locations managed by alpine and was always very Satified.Response from Telluride Alpine Lodging - 08/18/2011

Mr. Crane,
Thank you for your review. I apologize your visit at the Aspen Street Inn didn't meet your expectations. Among many of the updates that Aspen Street Inn has undergone since the change of ownership, mattresses were replaced last fall and most recently, the kitchen has been upgraded. We appreciate your input on the happy hour and breakfast. As of a management company, Telluride Alpine Lodging works hard to balance guest comfort, reasonable lodging rates, while maintaining profitability for the property owner.
Thank you.

My husband was experiencing a migrain and Heather scrambled to find us a comfortable room several hours before check-in. Each morning we were treated to a fabulous cooked to order breakfast in the cozy dining room with a beautiful view of the mountains. When I arrived at the Inn it was kind of late, but I had no problems getting into the lock box to get the room key and directions on how to enter the building. I thought the key code to enter the building was strange and the code was really long and difficult to remember. I didn't know that the place was a "Bed and Breakfeast" when I booked it. Plus not having romm numbers, but names instead was strange. It was late, so I was kind of a dummy for not reading the directions on the outside of the envelope and I wandered through the halls looking for my room. My fault.
The room's decour was out dated but clean. I was hoping for something more modern for the price. Initally I was pretty grumpy about this and wanted to switch lodges for the next night, but the place wore on me.
The TV was terrible. I know that you don't plan on staying in the room all the time to watch TV on a vacation, but this thing must have been picked up at a yard sale for $10. The thing was tiny and the screen sucked. It even had a VHS player! Why even bother having anything at all?!
Well, after all the dissapointments, the room kind of grew on me and I found myself very comfortable. The breakfeast, despite the grumpy workers, was pretty decent and the other people staying there were friendly.
The man at the front desk remembered and knew me by name, which was impressive. I would consider him a care-taker rather than innkeeper. Nice guy.Response from Telluride Alpine Lodging - 03/03/2011

We are glad that the room grew on you and as the older televisions (22") quit working, we replace them with updated flat screens, some with DVD players.

Left on 09/23/2010 for a stay in September 2010
We have stayed at the aspen Street Inn four times, three times when it was the San Sophia and once as the aspen Street Inn and each time have found it a good place to stay while in Telluride. We have stayed at six other places (both cheaper and more expensive) in Telluride and for the price aspen Street Inn is reasonable. The rooms are always very clean, quiet, and comfortable, although a bit on the small side which didn't bother us as we were only in the room to sleep. For those who stayed here when it was the San Sophia many of the small amenities that made it 5 stars in our estimation are missing, i.e. the complimentary drinks in the afternoon, preset tables at breakfast with fresh flowers, etc. The breakfast at the aspen Inn is good, pretty much your normal breakfast fare but not to that same standards as was the San Sophia whose chef always had special sauces and dishes on the menu. The aspen Street cooks were very friendly and competent. Although it is not at the same level as was the San Sophia we will stay at the aspen Street Inn again when in Telluride next year.

The service was phenomenal prior to ever arriving in Telluride at the Aspen Street Inn. We received help with choosing a room with a style we would enjoy, and help from Connie with choosing a minister to perform a "renewing of vows" ceremony (a surprise to the "groom" of 35 years), and for the locations for the ceremony. Our accommodations were spotless, roomy, and bright, within walking distance of town and the gondola. Breakfast was 5 star~ truly, outstanding, especially the zuchinni bread right out of the oven. The outdoor patio was a nice spot to read and get some sun. Awesome recommendations for things to do and restaurants were helpful. The minister, Tree Cooper was outstanding, and Connie/Innkeeper, stepped in as our wedding planner, witness, and photographer:) All, while running a smooth breakfast for the other quests. She is what makes the Aspen Street Inn run smoothly and peacefully. We highly recommend it, and it has made my husband a convert to the B & B lifestyle. Thank you for the opportunity to share our experience. It was top notch all the way. Thanks again Connie! Cynthia & Scottie Johnson
