Ski in/out and Wlak the Town!

The Mountain Inn is a located perfectly to at the Coonskin lift Carhenge. Leave you skis in the car and avoid the hassle of carrying them to your room. Warm up and then walk to the free Gondola for an evening at the Mountain Village or to one of the quaint and tasty Telluride restaurants. The Inn is well maintained and comfortable, the office staff friendly and helpful, and we plan to stay there again next year! I would have liked an easy chair in the room to rest my wary bones after a long day of skiing. Read more

Great Service & Location & Price

The manager met us after hours and had everything ready to go. She was friendly and explained the details we needed. The room was as described. These are apparently individually owned condos that are managed by Mountainside. Your door opens to a hallway. You are within walking distance of many restaurants and the gondola. We were there in mid September to climb local 14ers and, at $115 w/tax this was the least expensive lodging in Telluride. Read more

Mountain Side Inn

Note: we moved from room 118 to room 314 as building #1 is not pet friendly. We have stayed at the Mountain Side Inn before and we will stay there again and do not hesitate to recommended it to others. It is one of the lower price point lodging options in Telluride. The rooms are adequate and not at all fancy so if you do not plan to spend much time in your room, this would be a good match for you. The complex was built in the late 70's early 80's and has not been renovated since that point in time. Every time we have stayed there, it has been very full if not totally booked with guests and everyone we have spoken with have been satisfied with their stay. Enjoy Telluride!
Great Value for the money!

The Mountainside Inn is a lower end value type property so don't expect anything other than a clean room and a comfortable bed. That being said, the location was perfect and being located on the San Miguel River was great for my kids and my dog.
Friendly staff, clean rooms and great location made this worth the money and we will certainly come back. Read more

Thank you for your review of the Mountainside Inn. We are so glad that you will consider us for a future stay here in beautiful Telluride!
Clean, comfortable room; price matches size.

Small room but comfortable; both the room and the price. Small but functional kitchenette (with fridge) is important in Telluride, as prices here are at "mountain rates" (except for this hotel, if you visit off-season or non-"festival"). Good service. Clean. Hot tub is very large and within 100' of creek (San Miguel River). Close enough to downtown and the free gondola to Mountain Village you won't need to move your car unless you wish to leave town. Hard to find, especially after dark. Parking is at a premium, but free. Check-in after early evening is an odd arrangement, but works if one follows their directions. Only reason not five stars is small room size and is hard to find -- but definitely worth looking! I don't bother looking for another place to stay when I visit Telluride -- this is the best value with the best return. I look forward to my next visit -- hopefully soon! Read more

Thank you for taking the time to write your review for Mountainside Inn.
Yes, it can be tricky to find us but once you have you will always return.
Parking is at a premium in Telluride but Mountainside Inn is fortunate enough to have overflow availabilty in a lot just adjacent to our complex to accommodate our guests.
Come back and see us in the summer for all our wonderful festivals!
Great location! Great price!

Not a morning person
Would have been nice to be warned about the construction
Left on 08/19/2010 for a stay in August 2010 | Not a morning person
While the location (right by the creek path) and price were both good, and the condo was clean, it would have been very nice to be warned about the construction going on next door, so I could have brought some ear plugs.
When I inquired at the office about the construction noise, which started at 7am each day, I was told "be happy you weren't here when they were dynamiting!" Not a good customer-centric response. The construction workers could see right into our condo, so we had to keep the blinds closed.
We were able to get an extra fan, but it didn't drown out the noise. Starting at 7am while people are on vacation should be illegal.
The lack of parking was annoying, there wasn't even a 10-minute drop-off zone because of the construction. While the town was understandably pushed to its limits, the construction was a huge hindrance. Huge.
If I had known about it, I would have booked elsewhere. Read more

Thanks for the honest feedback. You are right, it is unfortunate that there is construction right next to our facility, and we are sorry that you were not made aware of this at the time of booking. If we had any vacancy we could have moved you to a different room, but being 100% occupied makes it tough, and I understand that being woken up at 7 on vacation is annoying. Luckily the construction will be completed at the end of September. Thanks again for the review, and if you come back next year there won't be any more construction!

Thanks for taking the time to review Mountainside Inn and we're so glad that you enjoyed your stay here. Sorry for the hot tub incident, but with the summer heat it's bound to get a little toasty. So glad we were able to take care of that for you. We'll be looking forward to your next trip out here to Telluride.

We appreciated the warm hot tub and your staff's help. The building was over heated. We left windows open during the day, but really hated wasting the energy. Please do something about it, we look forward to seeing you again next year. This was our 4th visit. Read more

Mr. Maynard, Thanks for the feedback. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at Mountainside Inn! As for the heat, there are individual thermostats in each room, so maybe yours was turned up to high? Next time please let the front desk know of any issues you are having and we can give you assistance. Thanks for staying at the Mountainside Inn, and thanks for being a loyal guest!

Room 118 on the 2nd floor offered a great view of Telluride Peak and the falls. The kitchenette was well furnished for our making egg bagel breakfasts and coffee every morning. A pretty good hike to Town Park but beautiful along the river trail.
A nice, affordable place to stay for the Bluegrass Fest. Hope to be back.
