Mountainside Inn is Telluride's most affordable property, conveniently located along the San Miguel river and just 200 yards to lift #7!
Hotel room on top floor (of 2 floors) with stair access. This room has a split king bed (can be set up as a king bed OR 2 twins), coffee maker and private bath with shower only (no tub) and is overlooking the river.

We enjoyed our stay, the staff was friendly and helpful. They gave excellent suggestions and directions. Telluride is a great place but not everyone can afford the high prices of the mountaintop areas. This was affordable, clean, relaxing place. I would highly recommend it. The only shortcoming is that they need more places to park.

We were able to hear the river running all night and have our dog with us for our anniversary trip- lovely. The decor is ok but kind of what you expect when you can bring your dog. Jaz, the "worker dog" was sweet.

As far as air conditoning, that is something that does not exist in town. The summer evenings get so cool at this altitude.

We were disappointed that daily maid service was extra. This was not explained to us at any point during the reservation or check-in processes. We discovered this when we came back find that nothing had been done in our room. Then I found a card by the phone that explained the cost for maid service. In addition, there was a sticker on the mirror in the bathroom that said if you wanted new towels, you were to put the dirty ones on the bathroom floor. Why have a sign like that if the maid service is not included?

As far as the maid service, we state in the arrival packets and on our webpages that housekeeping is not daily and that it is based upon the amount of days you are staying. If you want high end luxury accomdations, Mountain Side Inn is not for you. If you want a conveniently located hotel and don't want to spend a small fortune, then try the Mountain Side Inn. The setting is beautiful with the San Migel River on one side and the mountain rising straight up on the other side. It is only a few hundred feet from a lift and you can walk to everything in the old town of Telluride. When you are done skiing you can literally ski to the hotel off of the Telluride Trail. The single hotel room accomodations are clean, simple and adequate and the newer condo's are a nice step up. We've been staying here for many years for our winter and summer trips. Highly recommend it if you are looking for a nice economical place to stay.

We had an amazing trip in Telluride and the mountainside inn allowed us to afford and extra night to do so. The value was great! However, when we first arrived around 6:30 pm the office was closed and no English speaking person was around. We tried to get another hotel for the night and learned in the process we had to call a number for the combination to get our key. If only we knew that earlier... Also the parking lot was closed which was fine but their was no clear instructions on where to park. After driving 10 hours to get to our destination we had to circle the city endlessly to finally find an allowable place. All lessons learned though and our generally pleased with our stay. Once we got settled in we didn't want to leave.
