I spoke to friendly, helpful staff over the phone to confirm our stay and to request a specific room. We needed two beds and a kitchen. The room was spacious and clean. We arrived very late at night; late check-in was easy. The price was great, the best we could find. It was comfortable, quiet, and I would return. Parking at carhenge was convenient, located just behind the hotel. Two fantastic restaurants nearby and downtown is only about a 5 block walk. Gondola is a 2 block walk, along the scenic river path.
Convenient, best price, comfortable, clean, friendly staff. Read more

Thank you for your review of the Mountainside Inn. Parking is a first come first serve basis, but we have a large overflow parking lot called Carhenge if the Mountainside Inn parking lot is full. We hope you will stay with us again in the future.

My wife and I have stayed in the village during winter many times but wanted to stay in town to do some hiking and attend the Blues Festival this summer. The Mountainside Inn, Rm 318 was perfect for our trip. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The kitchenette allowed us to bring groceries and cook all of our meals in room. We had a king sized bed which was confortable and the bathroom was large with shower only, no tub. Read more

This was a lousy experience in every respect.
The bed was billed as a King but was two beds put together and where they met was an impossible gap.
And the bed was too big for the room, so the small table was squeezed against the wall and there was no room to get to it.
One burner in the "kitchen" didn't work.
The Woman at the front desk could barely be bothered to answer even the simplest questions...actually felt like i was bothering her every time I asked anything.
They promised parking and, yes, I know, it was the festival, but so what? When i asked about it she said "good luck".
And when I asked about the filthy Hot tub my surly Front Desk Lady said "oh, i guess he didn't get to it.."
And after the cost of it all, Maid service was extra...
Please, avoid this dump. Read more

We are sorry to read about your disappointing experience although we value candid feedback. Maintenance has addressed the kitchen burner, and I can assure you that the service you received is not our standard and for that I apologize. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Good Location With Paper Thin Walls
Left on 04/25/2012 for a stay in March 2012 | TXRose
I arrived early and was not able to get into my room until later but the lady at the desk was very nice about it and checked to see how early I could get in. Once I got in the room I saw it was pretty much as described, small and older. It was clean and had the basic kitchen items. The bathroom is a good size with separate space for the toilet.
The huge problem was the paper thin walls. This is a connecting room so there is also a couple of doors separating the rooms and they must be hollow. I could everything from the family of a small child next door. Everything. At one point, late at night, I work up to hear a phone conversation going on next door and I could even hear the other person on the line! That's thin walls! I sleep well in moat places but I actually lost some sleep in this room.
One other problem at this inn, and probably at a lot of inns/condos in the area, is the lack of parking. It's very tight in the area by the inn but there is other parking in a nearby public lot.
There is not an elevator so be sure and ask for a bottom floor room if you have issues with stairs and carrying items up to the second floor.
The location was pretty good, especially for skiing. The walk to the main street was a little further and could be difficult if your are not used to the altitude and icy roads/side walks. Read more

Thank you so much for your review. We take all comments positive and negative into concideration.
Parking in Telluride can sometimes be an issue but fortunately Mountainside Inn has access to adjacent parking as most accommodations do not.
As far as elevators go, we are only a two story facility and while elevators would be nice they were not included in the origional construction about 40 years ago. On your next visit we will see if one of our housemen can help you with your luggage.
Come see us again in the summer for our festivals
We enjoyed our stay.

Overall everything was fine except that we understood we would have two beds not one. However, the bed was in good condition-firm. The service was good and the room was clean & in good shape. The location is good. Last time we had a view of the skiers and boarders coming down the trail and really enjoyed it. This time we could see our vehicle in the parking lot. Your prices are affordable for us.We are glad you are there.

This is a very reasonably priced place to stay, with everything we needed -- including being dog-friendly. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The kitchenette is minimal, but works great for simple tasks like reheating leftovers, simple breakfasts, and during this stay we even used the stove to make a very simple meal. The outdoor hot tub is a wonderful way to relax after playing hard all day. Read more

Thank you for your review. Mountainside Inn has one of the best locations in Telluride for skiing. While we are not the five star lodging we are the most affordable.
We look forward to a return visit.

I stayed at the Mountainside Inn on 10/11/10, and I got exactly what I was expecting - I wanted an inexpensive room in a great location! This place isn't modern, or a 5 star resort, but it's a clean, comfortable place to crash after a long day of exploring Telluride. Read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find not only a kitchen but completely outfitted with dishes, utensils, and even paper towels. The coffee was even good.
I did miss having a bath tub and also the parking and unloading the car was difficult due to road construction.
I would consider coming back on another visit to Telluride Read more

So glad you enjoyed your stay at Mountainside Inn. Yes the construction can be challanging at times but the good news is it's almost complete. So your next visit everything will be smooth sailing.
We do look forward to your return and it was a pleasure to have you as our guest.

Rooms were TINY!!!!!!!!! Second bed was advertised as a "double" but was realy just a twin. Originally was put in room #318 which only had 1 bed. Later moved to #209 which had 2 beds but no refridgerator and no coffee pot. I will return to Telluride but next time I'll pull up my 5th wheel RV. I would have been willing to pay a little more to stay at a little nicer place. Read more
