Teltow (24,000 inhabitants) is known for its specialty Teltower turnips and the Teltow Canal which brought economic prosperity to the town. Established as a city since 1265, it has settlement remains dating back 3000 years to the Bronze Age.

Teltow's unhurried setting and proximity to Berlin make it an attractive proposition for many young families.
