La Bodega Casa Rural has four cottages with a swimming pool, set in attractively laid out gardens, with sun terraces, sun loungers, barbecue and patio areas.
La Bodega was converted from an old wine vinery and farmhouse and is situated in San Miguel, a typical old rural Canarian town in the south of Tenerife. It is 15 minutes from the Reina Sofia international airport and 600 metres above sea level offering spectacular views to the sea and surrounding countryside.

We stayed for a week in May, the weather was brilliant, the cottage had everything (and it was the pick of the four available with an evening sun and a view over the coast). Sheila was very friendly and entertaining. She demonstrated how to gut a prawn, and I'm still using her technique today! Ooh and lots of books and Dvds to borrow.
Definitely recommend La Bodega for couples looking for a calm, cultured stay on Tenerife, about ten minutes drive from the beaches. -

This place was recommended by a friend for a relaxing holiday. Shelia and Ray were the perfect hosts always available to answer queries but not intrusive. Shelia's cooking is excellent a home made meal served in your own cottage on request!! The cottage is fully equipped with anything you would require for a self catering holiday. Good sized swimming pool in a beautiful garden.Village has a good supermarket and quite a few places to eat. All in all 10 out of 10.

My wife and I have just returned from a week in La Bodega. We had a lovely cottage (the largest one) which is perfectly equipped for everything you need on a self-catering holiday. The hospitality from Sheila and Ray is second to none. They really have made this a unique setting for an unspoilt holiday on Tenerife: they are on call if you need them but never intrusive.
A truly lovely holiday. -

What a week! I've been to Tenerife numerous times usually staying in Los christianos or the Golf but this time I decided to do something a bit different, and I'm so grateful that I did. For a start it's like I've found my home away from home, the rooms were spacious and even better looking than the pictures. And the pool, all though we had to share with three other couples that was it, and most days we had it to ourselves.
Although San Miguel has a few cool places to eat, we had rented a car. Most nights ended up being barbeque night, one particular night I accidently burned the chicken so badly, that it saw the bin. I was so disappointed with myself not to mention hungry but Sheila came to the rescue with a lasagna and a tirmasu that made cremating the chicken well worth it! All in all a great holiday and can't wait to see Ray and Sheila and that tirmasu again!
