The Gores in Richland
Richland, WAA beautiful hillside home for a short stay, with views of Smith
Left on 04/30/2013 for a stay in February 2013
In February our son's family invited us to stay at The Good Earth with them while they climbed at Smith Rock. We had a good time hiking and it was so relaxing to return evenings to our home away from home. The house is spacious with plants, artwork, games in the cupboard for all ages and cooking in the lovely kitchen is a joy. The leather couch and chairs around the fireplace welcomed all six of us. The owners are gracious, even providing fresh eggs and local wine for us. We look forward to staying at The Good Earth again, perhaps for skiing next time.

Fantastic place to stay - the price is right and the hosts are helpful and amiable, having the hot tub ready for us to soak after long days exploring Central Oregon and fresh eggs in the fridge!. The home is spacious and comfortable with amenities you expect and some you might not - eg the fire heated hot tub, well furnished kitchen and plenty of places to sit and soak in the surroundings. I even found a crock pot which I put to use immediately. The Good Earth's location is very convenient as well, Downtown Terrebonne, Smith Rock and Redmond are literally minutes away. Bend and Sisters are a mere 40min drive. Daughter describes The Good Earth this way: "Hole in One", A++

We are so glad to offer amenities that guests don't expect. The convenience of only being minutes from the grocery store, gas station and dining in downtown Terrebonne makes it easy to plan your days. Central Oregon has so much to offer, fishing lake Billy Chinook, hiking Smith Rock to visiting Fort Rock and Hole in the ground to the South. Guests also travel to Prineville reservoir for recreation too. We look forward to welcoming future guests and inviting previous guests back.

It would be hard to find a nicer place to stay. I stayed here with three friends in January.
Very quiet, peaceful, place to stay. Great space for couples or friends. You feel like your far away, but local food or brew very close by and Bend is within twenty minutes. I can't wait to go back this summer for some hiking.
I've never written a review before, but this had to be done.Response from Cynthia Murphy - 02/19/2013

The Good Earth was a home away from home as soon as we arrived. Plenty of room, clean, full of lots of activities for all ages and a wonderful open kitchen that had everything needed for staying in, hanging with friends and cooking a great meal! Our group stayed there on a snowboarding trip to Mt. Bachelor. We were the first boarders to stay there so the owners were very excited for us to give them some feedback on what would make things easier for storing all of our gear. Now they have racks for equipment and clothes! Very accommodating.
The view is also another reason to stay! On a clear day you can see Smith Rocks State Park, and the vast expand of the Cascades. If you hike up the trail just behind the house you can see even more. Bend is less than 20 miles away so popping into the city is no problem but it's nice to come back to a quiet place to chill and relax. We had a great visit and will definitely be back to The Good Earth. Thanks!

We were very happy to have not only our first boarders, but 2 were involved in the exciting and edgy sport of split boarding in the backcountry. They had skins, and equipment that needed extra care. We built racks and provided a way of drying all the gear thanks to their feedback! We are always willing to work on suggestions that visitors give us. In addtion to being 20 minutes from Bend, we are only 2 miles from the town of Terrebonne with a local market, The Pumphouse Bar and Grill, and the eclectic Terrebonne Depot Restaurant. Redmond is only 4 miles away with many other shopping and eating establishments as well as a regional airport connecting to Portland, Seattle, and other hubs. We are able to pick up and deliver guests to The Good Earth from their arriving or departing flights. We live here locally and are always on call to provide the best experience away from home that we possibly can! Views, peace, adventure, and comfort await at The Good Earth in Central Oregon!!
