I spent a great deal of time reasearching the internet for a vacation villa rental in St. Maarten. I found that Marylin Pulito's name kept poping up as Conde Nast Travelers agent of the year. I now know why she has received this award for so many years.
Marilyn's clear and concise communications back and forth to us were above and beyond great customer service. The villa was excatly as the photos depicted and as described by her.
I had reservations about sending someone $3500.00 in this day and age of internet fraud etc. But rest assured, Marilyn is as honest as they come. she is more like family than a vacation agent and she will not steer you wrong.
We were meet at the airport by a company representive and driven to our villa where a rental car was waiting for us in the driveway just as Marilyn had described. Shortly after arriving, another company rep came to the villa to make sure everything was as planned. We couldn't have been happier!! they even stocked the kitchen with a fresh loaf of french bread, beer, bottled water and a dozen eggs just in case we wanted a little snack.
The villa itself is really amazing. Private gated community with a private gate to get into the villa as well. The villa sits on 2.5 acres of land and you have total privacy!
Maid service is provided daily and the pool is cleaned once a week. Its only a short drive to the beach. Which, is almost like having your own private beach since there is hardley more that a 6 people at the beach at any given time. We bought snorkle gear and saw some beautiful fish in the coral reefs. Do yourself a favor and go to the local Market. Buy some fresh food and cook most of your meals at your villa. You won't find a better place to eat than your villa. the view is great, the pool is right there and you have total privacy.
(this is only true if someone in your party cooks that is)
We are already planning on going back very soon.
Just as a short side note: There is one place you must eat during your stay. It's called Karakters (www.karakterbeach.com) Although when you first approach the place, it looks a little scketchy...you will be amazed with great food and an amazing beach setting. They even have table service right on the beach. They play great music (mix of top40 and rock) It is the place to be on sunday afternoon. -

We all had a wonderful time and the house and Luxury Retreats provided an effortless way to have a beautiful week in St. Martin. We were all surprised at how easy it was to do nothing but spend time because the house and the property were so conducive to enjoying the natural beauty of the environment. The furnishings were clean and comfortable, having daily maid service delightful, and the house extremely well designed to enhanced the views, the sunset, the vegetation. It felt completely private and quiet and nothing intruded on our space. We loved it! Thank you.

We have found that the villa experience meets our needs perfectly. We love the location, the view, the climate and having a place to ourselves. We have stayed at Lune de Miel before and we love it here. There were a few things that have changed since our last visit and these are reflected in questions asked below.

The house and the island were amazing! We did have two problems which made our visit a little uncomfortable. The Villa Lune de Miel had some serious plumbing issues. For some reason the water pressure in the house would fluctuate to the point where you couldn't even brush your teeth without bottled water and forget taking a shower. This did put a damper on some of our plans as we would have to wait for the pressure to come back before we could shower especially after the beach. We also had issues with the outlets in the main bathroom. They would not power anything even the dryer that came with the house. The maid service was wonderful and we always came home to a beautifully clean house(which now I am not sure how they achieved that without any water). The location of the house and the Island are amazing and the food is to die for. I don't know that I would return to this house having had the problems we did but I did enjoy our trip.
