We had a lovely few days at the cottage which had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. Bill & Dawn were really helpful with information about not only the cottage but anything else we wanted to know...bus timetables for one and the best eateries which there are several! We look forward to coming back and would not hesitate to recommend this cottage. We would say that this cottage would not be suitable for anyone that could not climb steep stairs but apart from that it was ...simply fabulous!

Took this rental for a business trip. Convenient; able to use as temporary office. Comfortable to sleep, and fully equipped, and easy to care for. Takes a bit of understanding to get used to the water heating system, which is different than here in arizona, but no problem. Marvelous view of the Tewkesbury Ham, and the river.

Superb location just off Tewkesbury high street, yet the cottage is so peaceful and the views are lovely across the river. The cottage is small but they say the best things come in small packages and this was certainly the case. The cottage had everything you would need and was cleverly laid out. The bath was small, but was enough to wash and freshen up. Bill and his wife were also very friendly and helpful. We had a truly wonderful stay and would not hesitate going again or recommending to friends.

A lovely little one-up one-down, not for the large or inactive as the stairs are steep (but short) and the loo tiny (and upstairs).Ingeniously designed, everything in its place, neat and bright and clean and white. Wonderful view over Mill avon (just on your doorstep) and the Ham beyond. Just the place to sit and be admired on a summer evening. Owners lovely people.

wonderful cottage. Amazing how every inch has been put to good use.Helpful landlord.Central but still quiet and calm location, with all amenities nearby.

Hello Edith,
Thank you for your "cosy and relaxing" review. I have taken your advice and am now remembering to warn guests about the upstairs fire alarm, whilst also looking into relocating it!
Thanks again,

London, UKLoved the cottage and Tewkesbury
Left on 04/29/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Three days were not enough to enjoy all that Tewkesbury and the surrounding countryside have to offer. We loved 9 Mill Bank, a charming and historic cottage which owners Bill and Dawn have cleverly kitted out with everything to make sure your stay is comfortable. It was not the best weather to appreciate the cottage's views towards the Malvern Hills, but a couple of stunning sunsets compensated. It is perfectly located for visiting the splendid abbey and town centre, just two minutes on foot away. We visited Ross-on-Wye, Malvern, Sudeley Castle & Gardens as well as Berkeley Castle between the downpours, when at times it rained so hard you could almost hear the grass grow!

Left on 04/28/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We had a most beautiful stay at the cottage. Of all places to stay in Tewkesbury it had it all - charm, history, position, view (wow !) and the care taken that makes it feel like a home, away from home. Bill and Dawn could not have done anything extra to make us feel comfortable - while we stayed there, it felt like ours !
The cottage itself seems small as you enter but the bedroom is a lovely size, given it's age. The view was outstanding - amazing ! It's location can't be beaten - it's right there in town but quiet enough so you feel you are in your own piece of paradise. Loved - it all ! -

On our arrival we found the Cottage very welcoming, spotlessly clean, and every convenience required to enjoy a very relaxing holiday. The Cottage is in what nust be one of the best locations in Tewkesbury overlooking the water and only a few minutes walk to the Town.
The owners are very helpful and are always there if you have any problems.
The open fire was gorgeous and kept us really warm, ideal for a Winter Break, -

Beautiful cottage and location, only 2 minutes from bustling high st but you would never know it.Everything you could need was supplied, and if there was anything needed Bill{owner] would happily find it for you.The view from the stable door was gorgeous and the bench by the front door used daily!Shame we could'nt park at the cottage but, this was overcome with a free pass for a car park just a few minutes away.Would definately stay again.

I have stayed here several times by myself when I am working in the UK, it is much better than staying in a hotel. I also stay here with my husband when we come to the UK to visit relatives. It is starting to be home from home. It is a great place to stay and Bill & Dawn always make you feel very welcome.

Ten out of ten again!
We came again to this lovely cottage and town that has so much to offer. Eleven halcyon days to relax, to walk into town and do your daily shopping without having to use our car: it's all within a ten minutes walk. The nice thing about that is you can also choose the way you're going: via the Ham and start shopping at het end of High Street or find your way through the many nice alleyways with a lot of medieval buildings via Church Street to High Street. No stress, just relax! There is a lot to explore in the town, things you would not expect to be there. So a trip to the Tourist Information is a must! As for diner: besides the usual super markets there are a lot very nice shops such as AD 1471 delicatessen, a greengroser, butcher, etc. And if you don't want to cook yourself, there are lot of nice restaurants and pubs with good food around! There is a good bus service to Gloucester and Cheltenham as well: both very nice to pay a visit!
The cottage itself is just great! It has all you need and more(!)to keep you comfortable during your stay there, regardless the season. It's the little extra things that make it special. Like when you have just unpacked your stuff and you would really would like a cup of tea or coffee. Well it's already there: tea, coffee and a jug of fresh milk in the fridge! Any questions you might have or help you will need will be taken care of by Bill and Dawn next door. So just relax and enjoy the spectaculair views - especially in the morning and evening - over the Ham!

Left on 08/04/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We had an excellent stay at 9 Mill Bank. It is perfectly located for the centre of town and the abbey and in a very picturesque spot. The cottage is tiny, but perfectly formed and has everything you need! There were three of us staying there, which was fine for a couple of nights, but I'd recommend it really only sleeps two if you're staying any longer (the sofa bed isn't the comfiest in the world!). The owners are very friendly and helpful. People who are reliant on an internet connection should know that there's no wifi and the recpetion throughout the whole of Tewkesbury is terrible, so it's an opportunity to enjoy a holiday away from phones and email!

FREE WIFI AVAILABLE – Thank you for your appreciative guest review Laura. For your & others' future reference, please note that FREE WIFI (with good reception) is available on request. I was away the weekend that you stayed and do normally ask guests whether they require it or not, but please don’t let it stop anyone from having a WIFI FREE break from it all. Thanks again, Bill

Loved our brief time in this cottage. Would stay again when visiting the area. Cosy and well equipped. Welcoming & helpful owner. Enjoyed the history of both cottage and town. Wonderful to watch the sunset over the river, meadows and hills from the front porch bench.
The White Bear just beyond the other end of the main street is best for a friendly beer. -

A cosy little historic cottage opposite a canal with a swan nesting a few feet away from the front door. We had fun lighting the wood fire and toasting bread, and the nightstore/electric heaters kept the cottage nice and warm.
The staircase is steep and curved but short and well lit and the cottage is small being a one up/one down. Perfect for a couple or as in our case a mother and daughter.
The kitchen is small but fully fitted out and well supplied with crockery, etc. Tv and internet connections keep you up to date with the world outside.
Parking is free in a nearby open car park, a very short walk through a charming park full of flowers and dog walkers.
Bill, the owner, lives next door so if you need any info or require help you just knock on his door. We couldn't work out how to get the hot water running so his wife kindly gave us an intro. The bed is comfy and plenty of bedding and towels provided.
Everything in Tewkesbury is walking distance with a great selection of restaurants, pubs and tea shops. The abbey is at the top of the road. A large Morrisons and the ashchurch Railway station are a short 5 mins drive away. Easy access to the motorway too.
We would definitely recommend this place to our friends and would stay again if we are in the area. Our 5 day stay was wonderful and we will have happy memories of the cottage and Tewkesbury. -

My partner and I stayed here for a 3 day New Years break, the cottage is lovely, it is small but perfectly formed and easily enough space for 2 (or 2 + a small child). Quiet but within easy walking distance of all the town, the river is right opposite the property and the ducks and swans greet you as you leave each morning. The tv/dvd works perfectly and the kitchen has plenty of plates, baking sheets, cutlery etc. The heating works well and the bed was super comfy. We had a great time, and have already recommended it to our friends. We were charmed indeed.

We wanted a different Xmas so decided to stay in the Cotswolds and booked 9 Millbank. What a lovely surprise when we arrived at this quaint cottage. It is so cute and so well equipped. The views from the bedroom windows would be a challenge to match. In about 8 inches of snow we managed to get around it was magic, and the owners aDE sure everything was OK during our stay. We will be going back in the autumn of 2011

Left on 12/09/2010 for a stay in October 2010
Perfect place and town to be for a lot of reasons! We've been here before during different seasons and keep coming back. The cottage is very nice and cozy! It has everything you could possibly need, even an iron and ironing board ;-). Dawn and Bill are perfect hosts and always very helpful.
The views on the Severn Ham and Malvern Hills are stunning in every season. If you are into birdwatching: curlews, redshanks, sparrows, kingfishers, swallows, house martins just to name a few!
If you're into drawing or painting: the place to be as well: quiet and beautiful, lots to draw or paint all on your doorstep. If you're into walking: opportunity knocks!
Tewkesbury is a lovely town with loads of festivals events throughout the year! Combined with great shops and good restaurants!

Camden, NY USAthe nicest little place, convenient, peaceful, all we needed
Left on 11/09/2010 for a stay in October 2010
This is the best little place to stay. We had all we needed to cook our own meals (the markets are great) and it was so quiet and peaceful after a fast tour of London. The town of Tewkesbury has many places to eat and numerous shops - grocery, gift, antique, thrift - as well as a wonderful library with very helpful staff. One can walk everywhere. There is bus service if you don't have a car and it is central to tour. Mr. Hunt has done wonderful work on updating this very old place - like going back in time but with all the amenities. We hope to return in a few years.
