SecheltThis cabin is in an excellent location to explore Texada Island.

The Sand Dollar is in an excellent central location to explore Texada Island. The large, sunny deck is perfect for watching wildlife and gazing out over the ocean. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the hot tub on the deck, and were thrilled to see dolphins in the bay.
Although the cabin sleeps six, I think that would feel tight, perfect size for 2 or three people. We were a bit disappointed that the beach was down a steep bank. Not as easy as we had hoped for access to our kayaks. Other than this, a clean, quiet, peaceful, cabin. Prompt and courteous service from the owner. -

We were extremely happy with our stay at the Sand Dollar. Its a place to truly relax whether you are soaking in the patio hot tub, staring at the ocean from the porch or walking the beach. Its a peaceful place with little noise and magnificant views. We barely left the cottage as we were just happy to enjoy the place.

Left on 06/09/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The cabin is wonderfully cozy and comfortable. Lois has well-appointed the wee home, to the point of surprising us with the extra amenities ( herbs, spices, teas, freezer bags, wrap, foil, etc). As well, bicycles are available ( no charge) for those who would like to go for a cycle. These were very nice touches I have not often found in other vacation lets. The neighbours are friendly and we had enjoyable talks with them. The cabin is situated on a bluff over-looking the beach, which is quite accessible to all but those who may be wheelchair or walker supported, as there is a rather steep incline of walkways down to the shore. The General store (fresh meat, fish, produce, alcohol sales and even wire and hardware bits !) ,as well as the Ravenous Raven Restaurant, are a short distance away. The views are stunning and the sound of the waves crashing is awesome. Above all, the place is quiet, quiet, quiet ! What a blessing that peace was ! When I have to complain about the birds singing so loudly that they woke me up at 4:45am one morning, you know you don't have much to complain about.

Bellingham, WA USAa great getaway
Left on 04/10/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We visited in early april- weather cool but sunny. This cabin is well appointed and equipped for cooking in- well thought out with amenities. Hot tub was wonderful on chilly nights- nice view of Vancouver Island. Close to beaches, trails. Most places were closed for Easter holiday but still had lots to do outdoors- we were tempted to just sit on the deck and watch the tides and mountains. Store and restaurant within walking distance

Sand Dollar Log Cabin is the perfect place to getaway! Its relaxing, comfortable and you can not ask for a better view! You will see Seals playing all day long and otters looking for some dinner, and we were lucky to see dolphins swimming through the bay! Whether you are sipping a glass of red and toasting marshmallows around a beach fire or you stay inside with the wood-fire burning you will love it! And not to mention the hot-tub with the $100,000 view! Its tidy, clean and everything you could want is there! Book it! You wont regret it!

The wood pieces were too big. It would have been nice to have smaller pieces.
And a better way to get into the hot tub. Suggestion: stand.

The cabin was a perfect winter getaway! It was more than I imagined... the hot tub, the fully equipped kitchen, the really cool loft overlooking the ocean and on to the incredible mountains... It was the perfect place to relax and take a break for some quality time with my friends. We loved that it's very close to incredible beaches, and that it comes with bikes to explore the island! The cabin was perfectly cozy, and perfect for the winter time. I would definitely come back again!

Left on 07/05/2011 for a stay in September 2010
The Sand Dollar Log cabin is situated on Gillies Bay which is one of the most spectacular beaches on the coast. The cabin has all the modern conveniences you'll need and is a short walk from the village. We rode our bikes, walked on the beach, enjoyed the local farmers' market, and relaxed with a glass of wine while watching the sun set from the deck. A day trip into Powell River is not to be missed!

We have stayed here two consecutive years, both were fantastic. I grew up on this island so always nice to come back. The cabin is clean, comfortable and a fantastic place to use as a "basecamp" for daily activities. I travel a great deal for work and cleanliness is very important to me, you won't be dissapointed here!

The Sand Dollar Log Cabin is magic! It is a remarkable gem, located in a serene and peaceful environment, adding to its beauty and mysticism. The cabin has all the amenities for pampering its guests, and its attention to comfort and detail is unsurpassed - from the complimentary wine to the extra sets of towels. My family has enjoyed each stay in this paradise, and our experiences only solidify our view that this is a piece of heaven on earth...

We had such a great time at Sand Dollar that we didn't want to leave. Incredible views, deer at the back door, low flying eagles and an abundance of sea creatures made for many days filled with discovery for us and our two young daughters. The slow island pace and farmers market were also unexpected pleasures!
