Description from the owner

This charming, comfortable, welcoming and convenient studio is ideal for someone wanting a longer stay in Paris. It is away from the heavily touristed areas, in a lively and interesting neighbourhood, with a traditional Paris feel. It is within easy reach of the attractions of the Right Bank - the Louvre, Opera Garnier, Champs Elysees, Montmartre and the Left Bank is within easy reach by public transport.

The gated, calm cobblestone courtyard is an historic closed off street, with a garden and apartment buildings from different periods.  My apartment, a onetime sculptor’s studio, is in an old building, which has had various inca...Read more

      A wonderful retreat

Left on 01/03/2013 for a stay in October 2012

I stayed in this apartment for 4 weeks over October '12. The apartment is welcoming, very comfortable with a great kitchen to use for those nights when we came home and decided to stay put, I might also add that it was well stocked. Loved the fact there were lots of books on Paris and the surrounds as well as a collection of cards of recommended resturants.
The area the apartment is in is extremely interesting, very easy access to the underground and buses, gret walks, great resturants.

This was a very comfortable, quiet stay for me, the apartment was perfectly located away from the noise and tourist crowds but close enough to everything it was a welcome site after a long day in the beautiful Paris streets . I came to Paris as a young film student for the first time and the neighbors we very helpful also the neighborhood was perfect for an introduction to Paris everyday life.Definitely would stay again.

      A welcome home feeling ...

Left on 07/12/2012 for a stay in July 2012

After a day in the urban whirlwind of Paris -- beautiful though it is at every moment -- I was relieved to go through the large gate into a peaceful courtyard to a quaint, homey appartment. The place is fully equipped with every amenity you'd want. You feel like it's yours and yet unlike a hotel or B&B;, it is like you're staying in a friend's apartment. The location couldn't be better - I bought a 3-day metro pass and went everywhere I needed within minutes from the apartment. I typically got a pastry from the bakery next door (a ten!) and taught a local vendor to understand what I needed for american coffee - some hot water added in. I particularly enjoyed the Barclay/sp Cafe which had a youthful vibe and excellent food a block away. The service was smooth and simple. Neighbors were sweet, friendly and informative.
Overall, the place provides a great respite from a busy day in Paris, excellent transportation connections and full amenities within a nice setting.

      Unique Paris stay for Muslims...

Left on 06/21/2012 for a stay in June 2012

      9 - 16 June 2012

I got this place at the last minute. What I wanted is a working washer and kitchen but surprisingly I got more than I expected. The setting is impressive despite the space. It fits the three of us nicely. The bed is comfy and enough hangers in the wardrobes. The wireless Wifi is excellent. The warmers are excellent located both in the bathroom and in the living room space. My wife appreciates the warmness of the unit. There are nearby supermarkets and Halal groceries shops. It is convenient to obtain kebabs and Halal "KFC" especially for the children.Environment is clean and neighbours are very friendly and helpful. They willingly offer advice and information on Paris tour.Metro reachable within walking distance and buses are directed to heart of Paris. You can reached there in 10 mins.app. Appreciates more bath towels. We will definitely recommend to our Muslim friends and hope to come back again in future.

      Regards
      Norashidin & Family (Singapore)

Excellent location for a great price!

Left on 05/28/2012 for a stay in May 2012

We recently stayed in this wonderful studio apartment for 10 nights and had a great experience. The location is ideal. It's very close to two different metro lines, and within a block or two are several grocery stores, restaurants, laundromats and bars. Highlights of the studio are a full kitchen (including dishwasher, washing machine, and pretty much everything we needed, from corkscrews to cookware), free internet and international calls if you bring a laptop to hook up, cable TV, and a very comfortable bed. The place was very clean when we arrived as well. We were really able to move in for the time we were there, and it became home.

Staying in an apartment is a great alternative to staying in a hotel. Having the kitchen is a great way to save some money; we cooked dinner once or twice while there and could always bring home leftovers from restaurant trips.

We highly recommend a stay in this apartment!

Great place to stay in Paris!

Left on 04/10/2012 for a stay in November 2011

I spent several weeks at this charming apartment, and enjoyed the whole experience. The apartment is typically French, small but completely equipped with everything one could possibly want (including the best hair dryer in the world). Although technically a studio, it's been cleverly furnished and feels like it has a separate bedroom. It's on a quiet courtyard and in a real Parisian location, with markets, restaurants, and transportation all close by. Montmartre is at your doorstep, and the Metro or buses take you anywhere in the city.

I spent the quintessential Parisian vacation here!

Left on 04/02/2012 for a stay in April 2005

I rented this cute, ground floor apartment on avenue St. Ouen for five months and loved every minute of my stay. The apartment is conveniently located near the metro and within walking distance of so many sites. There is a supermarket across the street and many restaurants to choose from. The place is small but the space is well-organized, well-equipped and everything you need is there -- including a great bathtub for soaking. I highly recommend staying here.

Cozy apt in non-tourist area of Paris

Left on 03/27/2012 for a stay in October 2010

Cozy grounf floor studio apt in old mews setting. Quiet courtyard [except for school recess times when the kids in an adjacent school make noise]. Old building recently modernized with modern galley kitchen and bathroom. Nice bakery at street entrance to courtyard for fresh baked goods every morning. Convenient shopping and easy Metro and bus stops. Feels like living as a real Parisian.

      True Paris

Left on 03/26/2012 for a stay in January 2012

The 17th arrondissement might not be the first area to spring to mind when staying in Paris, but really the Metro means anywhere is accessible. What is particularly attractive about this ground level apartment is the large sunny courtyard it opens onto, the nodding acquaintance with neighbours after a couple of days, the sounds of the nearby church and school next door, the boulangerie right next door, and supermarket across the street- (almost as convenient as a pantry). We stayed mid winter, so although it is only a minor thing, being drawn towards the centre of Paris, walking downhill towards the sun meant we often walked instead of catching the Metro to Opera, Galleries Lafayette and the truly extraordinary Musee Gustave Moreau. In the other direction, the flea markets are a half hour walk to the north.

So not the most touristed area- but that is its attraction.

      At home in Paris

Left on 03/17/2012 for a stay in June 2006

I stayed in this charming Parisian apartment once in 2004 and again in 2006, and each time it felt like coming home. The Napoleonic courtyard creates a true village atmosphere - and more than once, a festival right outside the door! (With the neighbors showcasing their own talents and wine for the citywide Fete de la Musique.)

Village life in the city has a feeling of "old Paris," and this quartier brings that feeling alive in the present, with everything within walking distance - from cheeses to sausages to pastries and bread - the markets are designed for living. A short walk to major tourist stops (like Boulevard de Clichy), but away from the tourist 'scene.' My stays at the Batignolles Studio made me feel like I had my own pied-a-terre in Paris, which I like to think I do for the next time I return!

      A comfortable, quiet, safe haven

Left on 03/15/2012 for a stay in January 2011

We stayed for two weeks during the Paris deep-freeze winter of 2010-2011. The apartment was a haven of warmth and peace after a day on the frigid streets. Its location on a quiet courtyard, with a locked gate at the street, made us feel secure. It's at ground level - no stairs!
Inside, we found everything we needed, including a clothes washer, mini kitchen, good bathroom and comfy bed. There's even a pull-out bed we used when our niece came for a few days.
The neighborhood is a real, working-class quartier, not as charming as some in Paris but quite acceptable.
I would go back anytime - in fact, I hope to!
