Left on 11/10/2012 for a stay in November 2012
If you're looking for a cozy place to settle into for a little while and play Parisian, this is it. The space feels warm - both lived-in and liveable. Charming doesn't even begin to cover it. A friend and I stayed here for a week in autumn and were sad to leave. Everything about the place was perfect - the rosy paper lantern, the yellow Teflon pan, the rows of travel books lining the shelves. On top of the loveliness of the apartment itself is the ideal location. Montmartre is ideal for those who want to get away from the clutter of touristy areas. There's much more of a balance with locals here - the streets are smaller, the boulangeries are plentiful and, conveniently, the abesses metro stop is five minutes away.
Anne is wonderful and made the whole process ridiculously easy. She even let us store our luggage at the place during check-out day as we had an evening flight.
Overall, highly, profusely recommend!

Seattle, Washingtonnot suitable for longer term stay
Left on 07/23/2012 for a stay in May 2012
First, the good: the apt. is located in a great, safe neighborhood with excellent metro access to everywhere and it's one of the cheaper Paris vacation rentals that I found on Trip advisor. But wasn't thrilled with everything else about the place. I stayed about 17 days, way too long for such a tiny place that felt like a really badly outfitted college dorm room. Maybe one or two nights would be tolerable, but if you are looking for a longer term apartment stay, I'd look elsewhere ( I found a flat right around the corner for my last three nights in Paris through airbnb. It was 50% more expensive, but 100X nicer. I guess you get what you pay for.) This place is so tiny, I don't know how a couple could stay here, unless they are in the very early throws of romance. I'm 5'4 and 115 pounds and the shower was way too small for me, you couldn't turn around in it without hitting the walls (and forget about trying to shave your legs, not enough room to lean over without hitting your head). And the shower was so cheaply made, the doors came off the hinges every time I tried to open and close it. There's no privacy from the neighbors across they way, which might have been okay if the curtains weren't see through (they were hardly curtains, more like a cheap, filmy fabric). When I took a shower the first night, I could see right through the glass shower doors through the "curtains" and directly into the neighbors place. The viewing was so good, I could see the name of the bottle of wine they were drinking while I was in the shower. So, of course, they could see me in the shower. To be fair, after I complained about this, the owner said she would change them out when she got back in town (but because of an apparent email snafu, I did not receive the email she sent notifying me when she got back, so I just ended up showering in the dark when I took a shower at night so I wasn't giving the neighbors a peep show).
As for the "kitchen", it really wasn't much of one. Since I was staying for 2.5 weeks, I had been looking forward to preparing a few meals myself instead of eating out every night. But the place is not suitable for cooking any meals... there wasn't even a decent knife to cut a block of cheese with and the few dishes that were on hand looked like they had been picked up at a garage sale. The futon was tolerable (though I'm not sure it would have worked well withe someone else sharing it & again, I had just come from India, so was accustomed to bad beds at that point), but I ended up sleeping in my silk liner as I just wasn't confident the comforter cover had been changed out. I was left two towels, which looked clean but absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. I didn't complain about this, though I was expecting to be offered some fresh towels at some point given how long I was there, but I guess the owner assumed I would wash them myself at one of the self- serve laundromats in the neighborhood or keep using the same towels for 2+ weeks since new towels were not forthcoming.
Oh, for the squeamish, you may want to know that there is a resident mouse. Unlike with the see through curtains, the owner did not follow up on this when I told her, which I guess was okay because I didn't want to deal with the possibility of her using rat poison and then my having to dispose of a dead mouse. The mouse came out every night to check the trash can (which was really just a cleaning bucket under the sink, maybe a real trash can with a lid would solve the problem?) and I saw him scurry across the room a few times during the day. Since I had just come from India, I think I was more blase' about this than I might have otherwise been (if you've ever been on an Indian train, you know what I'm talking about) but I started stashing the few snacks I had on hand in the microwave so my little furry friend wouldn't get at them.
Anyhow, long story short, I could recommend this place only for a single person on a very short stay with a limited budget, but not under any other circumstances. But, even with less than stellar accommodations, my Paris experience was amazing...so by all means, go! -

Left on 12/30/2011 for a stay in December 2011
As a single young female I was looking to stay somewhere safe and close to transport links and also with a good host. What I received was a lovely studio in a most fantastic area and with anne who was on hand to assist whenever needed. The studio is precisely as in photo's, the sofa drops down into a double bed, it has tv and wireless internet and microwave, seats, table, cooking utensils, sink, fridge, freezer compartment, spare towels/linen, basically this is home from home. It has a spacious bathroom and all windows are double glazed. The room has everything you need from cooking facilities to hairdryer, with towels provided and bed linen and shampoo etc. This studio is round the corner from Sacre Coeur, you can wake up early and enjoy before the tourists or enjoy it at sunset. The area is a haven for artists, it is safe and very pretty. Lots of shops and quaint eateries and a choice of metro stations, I tended to use Pigalle. Local supermarkets such as Monoprix etc. Paris is a city to walk around, everything is very accessible and I would find myself often walking to Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame from the studio. Anne is an excellent owner, she is at the end of phone or email and any questions are answered promptly, she is a lovely person and will make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. I highly recommend this studio, the area and the host. I would like to take this opportunity to thank anne for her care and consideration - I therefore highly recommend this studio for single people, for females, for males and for couples, if I return to Paris I will definitely be returning to this studio as my time there was a very very happy time, this studio surpassed my expectations - I loved it.

Left on 11/26/2011 for a stay in September 2011
My mother and I rented this studio for a week in September. Lisette was very quick to respond to our inquiries and Mako, who let us into the apartment was lovely. The studio is cosy and clean and so well located. Montmartre was a beautiful place to stay for our first experience of Paris and being so near Sacre Coeur was brilliant. There are a lot of stairs, so if you have any walking difficulties, that might be something to consider. However my mum, who is 65, was just fine and we had a great stay. There is a lovely Greek restaurant/deli just across the road, and many restaurants and bars in walking distance. It was a little bit tricky to find, and a steep hill climb so if you have lots of luggage, take a cab from the station.

Left on 05/24/2011 for a stay in May 2011
This apartment was exactly what we were looking for. It was charming and conveniently located. The owner, Anne, is incredibly sweet and helpful. She gave us good tips and recommended our favorite restaurant from the whole trip, Le Vieux Chalet. The bed was a futon, so if you have back problems, this might not be the best place, but we were so tired at the end of each day it didn't matter for us. It's in an corner of Montmartre that is near the touristy area, but the street itself is very peaceful and quiet. Getting into the main part of the city was an easy metro ride. If we come back, we'd love to stay here again.

It's a small space, but it's perfect for the price! Large windows let plenty of air and sunshine in, and the location felt very safe. Everything was comfortable and it was nice having a private kitchen with a fridge.
Anne is extremely accomodating and a pleasure to deal with. I couldn't have asked for a more trouble-free experience! -

Left on 02/17/2011 for a stay in January 2011
To put it simply, we genuinely enjoyed every day of our stay in this warm and cozy studio.
Location: This studio is located in Montmartre, a very romantic, artsy and beautiful neighborhood in Paris. People living there are very friendly, especially to tourists.
Surroundings: It is 5 minutes away from the metro station abbesses and 7 to 9 minutes away from the beautiful and iconic cathedral Sacre Coeur. There is a nice little gallery called Galerie Chappe right next to the studio. The famous path that leads to Sacre Coeur, Rue Foyatier, is right outside the studio's building. There are numerous bars, pubs and restaurants near the studio and many of them are for those with tight budget like us.
Check-in: Checking-in was very fast and convenient. We arrived after a long exhausting flight and anne was considerate enough to make special arrangements for us.
Studio itself: It's small but very cozy and warm. There is a little stove which is extremely helpful in saving money on meals. Anne also has various culinary ingredients, utensils and frying-pans and so on store in the studio. The bathroom is well-lit and the hot water in the heater's tank is enough for two people to take showers twice everyday. The bed is very soft and big enough for two people.
It: Fast Wi-Fi internet access. There is also a TV set with several channels.
We really enjoyed our time in Paris, not only because of the charm of the City of Light, but also due to this cozy studio. -

The place was exactly a descired. Perfect for solo travellers, like myself or couples. Plenty of great little bars and restaurants just down the street. 15 minute metro to main tourist locations and 5 minute hike up to sacre coeur which has an amazing view of Paris. Anne is lovely and was very accomodating throughout my stay. Will be back again.

We had a great time. Anne was very helpful. She speaks perfect English and no problem communicating there. The studio is close to Metro and lots of local restaurants, grocery shops, and Bakeries. It is 5 minutes walk from one of the most well-known Paris attractions Sacr?-C?ur. This place is definitely recommended, enjoy your stay.

This was a perfect room for my husband and me. Anne was great; she checked us in and was happy to tell us about Rue des abbesses and help with internet connection. The room was small as expected, but it was inexpensive, has a fridge, and is close to a Metro stop, restaurants & food stores. My least favorite part was the uncomfortable bed--but we were there a week and it wasn't bad. My favorite part was the value & location.

The apartment was clean, quiet, central, safe, and self-contained with all of the amenities including toilet, shower, kitchenette and easy-access internet (so hard to find in commercial Paris accommodation without paying a fortune)! Was perfect for my research trip. Would recommend for single person or couple, work or holiday.

Anne as been a nice hostess and the situation of the studio is great. The studio is quiet but unfortunately the noise come from inside the studio with annoying sound from the t.v. set and the freezer. Also the cleanliness was lacking and the mattress was not good enough. My critic may sound harsh but i really beleive that little details could make this studio absolutely fantastic for a stay in Paris.

Left on 09/30/2009 for a stay in September 2009
This one bedroom, one bathroom apartment is perfectly located in the
Montmartre quarter very close to Sacré Coeur. It is - although this is a busy
quarter - quiet, has a kitchenette with a microwave, TV, and wireless internet.
A Vélib bike station and métro are close by. Shops, including a grocery store,
and restaurants are only a few steps away. The proprietor is very nice and
leaves her phone number in case of a problem. The rate for the rent is fair, it
is payable in cash on arrival. -
