Enjoy the historic cobbled streets that surround the La Butte de Montmartre and the famous Basilica of the Sacré Cœur built in the late 1800's, Its white marble dome stands above the city and affords one of the best panoramic views of Paris.
This village unlike many of it's neighbors has not succumbed to the encroachments of modernity but has retained it's Parisian authenticity. The many cobbled streets and an incredible selection of world renown attractions will keep you occupied for days without ever needing to leave your own neighborhood.
The workshops and cabarets made famous by Picasso, Monet, Dali and others will delight you as well as the raucous Can Can dancers from the Moulin Rouge. The magnificient Paris views from the Basilica of Sacre Coeur will awe you. This is all the heart of Monmartre and indeed the soul of Paris.

We are a 10 minute walk to the Basicilia, 10-15 to the Moulin Rouge and a 5 min. walk to the metro that is an easy cost effective way to see Paris.
The nearest metro is Lamarck/Caulaincourt (line 12) This metro is only 8 stops from the Concorde station which is a great stop for the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Champs Elysee, the Eiffel Tower and the Bateaux Mouches on the seine and many more. Only 15 minutes metro ride to all these sights and no changing stops!!
All metro tickets can be used on the funicular, the Monmatre bus or all city buses as well.
Train services
The nearest airport is Charles de Gaulle. The RER train service serves the airport. Line B runs from the TGV station at CDG to Gare du Nord with connections for the metro. From Gare du Nord it is a quick taxi ride (10 Min.) to the apartment. This is the most convenient way to reach the apartment with luggage. Otherwise the metro is quick and easy. The other options are a taxi direct for about 60 euros or a shuttle prebooked online for about 20 euros each person one way.

SeattleExperience Paris Like a Parisian
Left on 05/15/2013 for a stay in April 2013
My first trip to Paris but can't imagine doing it any other way. Ralph and David made everything from arrival to departure as simple as possible, and we really did feel like locals. The apartment is beautifully appointed; the bathroom is enormous (enough for 3 ladies to primp at once!); and with the Metro stop right up the steps we had all of Paris at our disposal. Even when we were completely walked-out La Bonne Cochonnerie Boulanger and Cafe Le Refuge were less than 5 minutes away to restore us.
I can't recommend Le Tresor Montmartre highly enough (just as long as it's available the next time I return!).Response from Paris Nice Vacations - 05/16/2013
Owner
Kristen: Glad you had a great time & got that wonderful 'local' feeling! Le Refuge is a gem and full of locals [since its right at entrance to metro] - prices are right too!! Hope we see you again & thanks for great review. R&K

Fresno, CaliforniaElegant Gem in Great Parisian Neighborhood
Left on 04/01/2013 for a stay in March 2013
If you want to take advantage of the Parisian lifestyle and not feel like you're in the middle of a sea of tourists, then this is the place to stay. It was so nice to get up in the morning, walk a few minutes to buy fresh breads and pastries, stop and buy some fruit, then maybe pick up a bottle of wine for later. There were also a large selection of cafes, restaurants and bars to chose from. Several nice restaurants including French, Italian, Japanese, Chinese and even a Thai restaurant were an easy walk from the apartment.
The Metro Station was a five minute walk from the apartment along with several bus stops in between. Once you mastered the public transportation system of Paris, it was so easy to get to any part of the City. There were always Metro Stations outside all the main attractions.
The Sacre-Couer Cathedral and Dali Museum were a short walk up the hill over cobblestone streets with several great restaurants and shops along the way. The Le Lapin agile, a 19th-century cabaret that is still going strong is along the way.
Probably the best thing about the apartment are the Owners Ralph and Karen Moorhouse. Early e-mail communications made getting information, airport pick-up, and where to go and what to do in Paris very easy. The Owners put together "manuals for dummies" ranging on everything from how to use the apartment, hand drawn maps showing the recommended restaurants, metro-stations, grocery stores and bakeries, etc. With a printer and a WiFi connection, I was able to check-in for our flight and print boarding passes thru my laptop. The kitchen was small but having a kitchen with a stove, coffee pot and refrigerator made breakfast and snacks convenient. The washer and dryer were a big plus.
So after a long day of shopping and sight seeing, it was nice to come back to the neighborhood, sit and have a drink at one of the many cafes, then come home to the apartment. Staying here, you truly get to experience the Parisian Lifestyle.

Dave: thanks for great review and capturing the essence of why we love the neighborhood...in fact reading your comments made us quite homesick!! It was a pleasure working with you to maximize your Parisian experience & hope to see you again soon. R&K

AyrComfortable apartment
Left on 01/27/2013 for a stay in December 2012
From the initial email the owners were very friendly and helpful, David the greeter at the apartment was very friendly and helpful too, despite the fact I didn't text him to let home know our flight was late. Oops. Sorry David, because their were two door codes I got it into my head that we were going to let ourselves in so I was very embarrassed not to have let him know.
The apartment is as described, but be aware the kitchen is tiny, we stayed over Christmas and I certainly couldn't have cooked a festive meal in the kitchen. It has everything you need to make breakfast or a snack though, several coffee machines, kettle, toaster, hob and microwave. Plenty of dishes and other kitchen supplies. I hate microwaves and didn't realise that there wasn't a separate oven. I know most people don't mind microwaves but oven was listed as well as microwave so I assumed it would be two pieces of equipment, not just a microwave that grilled etc.
The bathroom was large with lashings of very hot water, the apartment was perfectly clean and the bed was very comfortable. We only used the heating once ( it was weirdly mild for December) but it worked very well. You can hear the neighbours now and then but it was not a nuisance in any way, just normal apartment noise. The street outside is quiet, with no traffic noise etc., very peaceful sleep.
The area around the apartment is full of shops, restaurants, bars etc with everything you need. Very handy!! It is easy to travel any where in Paris on the Metro.
The apartment was very comfortable indeed and a small problem with the wifi was fixed very quickly and efficiently.
I would recommend this lovely apartment to anyone looking for all the comforts of home.Response from Paris Nice Vacations - 01/27/2013

Glad you had a great visit - think the cold weather came after you left ;-)!!
Sorry about misunderstanding about microwave - For future guests we will be sure to explain that the microwave is in-fact an multipurpose unit that can also serve as convection oven - several guests have baked or cooked roasts using just the oven settings. We have a detailed use explanation in the User Guide -

Left on 10/26/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We had such a wonderful time and were very sad to leave. There was plenty of space for four adults. David welcomed us warmly even though our flight was delayed! It was truly like home. We had a rainy week in paris so it was difficult to leave the beautiful apartment. The neighborhood felt safe and quiet and it was an easy metro ride to the center of paris. It is only a few blocks away from magical sacre couer. I cannot wait to recommend this apartment to others visiting Paris!
Truly, we could not have hoped for a better stay. We want to go back soon!Response from Paris Nice Vacations - 11/27/2012

Abi: Glad you enjoyed your stay despite the rain. Paris is magic even in the rain. What we enjoy is that there are several good restaurants and stores within 5 minutes - easy to nip out for a pastry for breakfast. Hope to see you again.

Belmont, CaliforniaA True Gem in Paris
Left on 09/01/2012 for a stay in August 2012
The Tresor de Montmartre is a great place for the hard to please person. The apartment is located on the northern outskirt and within walking distance of the Montmartre Hill. It is on a cul de sac and is a quiet location by Parisian standards. There are several restaurants and bakeries (one of our frequent stops when we visit Paris) and a supermarket on the same block. If you like to experience staying in a residential neighborhood Parisian style and avoid tourist crowds and yet have easy access to the main touristy areas, this is the place to be.
The apartment itself is very clean and is in an old 19th century building with an added elevator and an updated kitchen and bathroom. You have all the amenities that you need for your stay and more. It does not feel like a rental place that is meant for tourists. It has a very homey feeling and it is more like visiting a friend who has left the place for you for the duration of your stay. The apartment has everything that you would expect a house to have including a picnic basket and two umbrellas. Yes, we used one of them in august.
A great part of this whole experience was dealing with the owner of the apartment in the us before we committed to staying at the TDM. I had many questions that the owner answered very promptly. The owner also provided lots of information about the neighborhood and the greater Paris area.
We would love to go back there any time and hopefully very soon.Response from Paris Nice Vacations - 09/22/2012
Owner
Bruce: Thanks for your kind review - you caught the essence of the neighborhood and our home - certainly we try to keep it feeling like a home to us. Glad you got to use the picnic basket etc - we try to have everything you would need for a good holiday. One of the fun aspects of renting our our home is interacting with guests, getting to know them and making them feel ready for the trip. Hope to see you again in Paris or perhaps Nice?!

Left on 08/27/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Four of us -- two couples -- recently stayed in Le Tresor on a week-long trip to Paris. We had a great experience and would recommend the apartment without reservations. It was by far the best apartment we stayed at while in Europe, thanks in large part to the owners' hospitality and the extra amenities offered.
While some listings are misrepresentations, this was at most an underrepresentation. The apartment was more beautiful in person. Stay here; you won't be disappointed!Response from Paris Nice Vacations - 08/27/2012
Owner
Jeremy: Always nice to hear of a good experience. Having stayed in several other apartments before we bought 'Le Trésor", we made the conscious decision that our place would have everything that we would want if we lived there. Our hope is that our guests feel at home and not just in another 'hotel' room! We have done the same with our apartment in Nice. Thanks again for kind words, we hope to see you again soon.

The apartment in Montmartre was fabulous! The location, size, decor were just what we wanted. We were greeted and shown where all facilities were and how to operate appliances, were given a nice bottle of red wine and some chocolate which was very welcoming.
There were 4 adults staying in the apartment and it was more than sufficient to accommodate us, with plenty of books, music and tv to amuse us when we were relaxing. We were surrounded by cafes, patisseries, fruit markets and a good local supermarket so everything was convenient and we were able to eat at home when we felt like it.
We certainly would love to return and would not hesitate in renting the same apartment - it was so very French and delightful. -

Left on 04/17/2012 for a stay in April 2012
I agree with all the previous reviews! Communication from first enquiries, booking, payment, confirmation and check out were incredibly prompt and friendly.
The apartment is in a great location, away from the tourist track. It's surrounded by cafes, bistros, bakeries, butchers, delis and a few small markets. The metro Is a few mins away and getting to the major attractions was easy.
The apartment itself is divine! Everything we needed was easy to find (and we did need lots of different things as we had our two young children with us!). The rooms are beautifully decorated and so spacious, especially the bathroom. Although the kitchen was small we found everything we needed to eat breakfast and some dinners in. We even asked a local bistro for some take away food when our kids were exhausted after a long day at Disneyland!
Don't hesitate - this apartment will add to your Paris experience.Response from Paris Nice Vacations - 04/18/2012

Left on 04/11/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We recently stayed at Le Tresor du Montmartre. In making our arrangements, the owners were exceptional at responding quickly to all my questions and were very helpful with suggestions and information. The apartment was just as described - in a delightful part of Montmartre -- within walking distance but away for the crowds of tourists. The location could not have been better. We were a couple blocks from the Metro and could walk to shopping, dining, etc. The apartment was well appointed and very comfortable for us and our adult daughter. We will stay here on our next trip to Paris.

HelsinkiBeyond expectations
Left on 03/14/2012 for a stay in February 2012
I chose this location because of the constantly good reviews, but I must say that the experience was even better than we expected. First of all the contacts with the owner both before and after the visit were very friendly and attentive - it gave a very welcome feeling and at the same time all the formalities were impeccably handled. I also very much liked the fact that the payment was arranged through PayPal which was much more convenient than bank transfer. Also upon arrival, the contact with the greeter was pleasant and prompt and we got all the necessary information.
The apartment itself was a true gem! I loved the beauty of the rooms and the fact that all the amenities and arrangements were just perfect. The kitchen is quite small and there is no dishwasher, but it was well equipped and provided everything necessary for a breakfast and even preparing a meal. The bathroom is large and elegant and the washer and dryer are nice during a longer vacation.
The location is also perfect - conveniently located for both bus and métro and walking, but still on such a small street that no traffic noise could be heard. It is also a very nice neighbourhood- there are many nice restaurants nearby as well as plenty of options to buy food to take home.
As a conclusion, do not hesitate anymore - if you want to enjoy your vacation, this is what you are looking for.

I chose to stay in Montmartre because it was one of the places in Paris that I had not explored. So glad I did. I immediately felt welcomed by Jeremy who who was prompt, friendly and very attentive. He also was available later in the week when I wanted some recommendations.
The apartment is perfectly located in the heart of Montmatre, close to great restaurants, local cafes, grocery stores and the pharmacy. But, it's nestled on a very small street, so you feel like you are away from it all.
Within walking distance to the steps to the Sacre Couer, I spent my days just strolling around the village, getting to know the locals, dining at great restaurants, and then coming home to Le Tresor.
The apartment itself is perfect for one or two people, although it could sleep four. In typicial Parisian fashion, it's elegant, simple and had everything I needed to make my stay perfect. The bathroom was especially large, with a nice tub and shower. Perhaps my favorite feature was the window that I would open each morning and watch Paris wake up.
This place, in my opinion, was perfect.

The constant communications vie email gave us confidence in locating and getting access to the apartment. I like the neighbouring cafe and especially the bakery on the corner. The unit is a nice surprise that has everything you need and well maintained with a elegant taste. There was a blackout at one time that made us a bit nervous but thanks to the clear instructions the problem was quickly resolved.

We had a fabulous time at LaBelle Tresor! The location of the apartment was perfect-- the neighborhood had everything we needed (we especially loved the bakery), and was super close to a metro stop, which we rode many times a day. The apartment itself was adorable, and perfect for the three of us (two adults and a teen). Having a kitchen made our stay all the better. We couldn't have asked for an easier or nicer experience. Merci!

La Belle Tresor Montmartre was spacious for our family of 4 and beautifully decorated. If we return to Paris we would certainly stay in this apartment again. We journeyed to Sacre Coeur every night since it was so close. On Sunday we heard the bells of Sacre Coeur from the apartment, what a treat!
Returning from Paris on the Metro we would exit at abbesses instead of Lamark Caulaincourt and walk to the Funicular, ride up to Sacre Coeur and then it's a downhill walk back to the apartment...A nice way to end each day with 3 weary girls. (You're Metro ticket works on the Funicular...don't buy a Funicular ticket).
Thank you for lending us your apartment. We had a wonderful time.
