      Perfect apartment for Parisian getaway!

Left on 04/21/2013 for a stay in April 2013

I rented this apartment for 5 days with a friend and it was just perfect for us. The apartment is located on a busy street, but faces the courtyard so you don't hear any street noise. When you step out the front door in the morning, the first thing you see is the arc de Triumph which is about 1 block away! The metro is also 1 block away and is very easy to use in Paris to get around.

We were able to get 2 twin beds which was perfect for traveling with a friend. While the apartment is on the 1st floor, we felt very safe as 2 girls traveling alone. You have to use 2 key fobs to get into the building and of course a separate key for the actual apartment. The free wifi is great since the only downfall to not being in a hotel is that there is no concierge for recommendations. The apartment was immaculately clean and recently renovated unlike many other rentals in the area.

The amount of space you get for the price is great! I stayed in the same area at a hotel in 2012 and had a hotel room that was way smaller than the apartment for a lot more money.

Philippe was great to deal with through the entire process and answered all of my questions very quickly. It can be hard to rent an apartment in a foreign country when you don't speak the language, but Philippe spoke english and was great throughout the rental process.

There are many great restaurants and cafes in the area to choose from. We had a wonderful dinner at Le Hide just around the corner- make a reservation!

Overall, the apartment at 5 Mac Mahon was a great experience and perfect for 2 people traveling to Paris.

      Perfect!

Left on 03/26/2013 for a stay in March 2013

My sister and I spent four nights in this lovely apartment. It was secure, modern and spotlessly clean. In addition we had the joy of seeing the arc de Triomphe every time we stepped out of the complex. This apartment is within easy walking distance of a Metro stop, cafes, a Monoprix supermarket and the absolutely gorgeous local Poncelet market (full of photo and gastronomic opportunities). We highly recommend this place!

      Amazing Location and great price!

Left on 02/26/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Philippe is renting out a true gem! This apartment is in an amazing location. It is located 1 small block from the arc de Triomphe. When you walk out of the apartment's entrance it is the first thing you see! It is just a short walk from the famous Champ de Elysees. The metro and hop on hop off bus stop are a 2 minute walk. The apartment itself is very clean and has all the necessities. We have a young toddler so the owner provided us with a cot. Small grocery stores are just down the street and a Starbucks around the corner! Great intimate restaurants all around you! We will absolutely be using this apartment when we return to Paris!!

Great Location. A must place to stay

Left on 10/14/2012 for a stay in October 2012

After struggling to find a decent size hotel room in Paris for a good price we decided to find an apartment instead and fortunately we came across this little gem a stones through away from the arc de Triomphe. The studio apartment suited our needs perfectly. The owner Philippe meet us on arrival and should us around. The room is situated in an apartment complex, which has two security doors to enter which made our stay all the more comfortable.

Although being a studio apartment (the bedroom and kitchen are located in the same space) we found that there was plenty of space to move around. We didn't use the kitchen during our stay (only 4 days, but would have if we were in Paris for longer). The bathroom shower was both clean and very spacious. There is also a washing machine-dryer combo that was very useful rather than trying to find the closest laundrymat.

The only downside was the air-conditioning unit was a bit noisy, which made sleeping at night a bit hard, but after one or two night we got use to it.

Overall this was a fantastic find, cheap find and I would recommend it to any wanting to stay in Paris for more than 3 night.

Couldn't be happier. We recommend Phillipe's studio without any qualification. It will be our 1st choice when we return to Paris. It's quiet (no earplugs needed), close to the Metro, & couldn't be easier to get to from CDG airport. Bed very comfortable too & well-appointed kitchen. Shower/laundry excellent. And Phillipe is very welcoming.

This ground floor studio was exactly as it looks in the photos, which was a relief. A secure entrance to an old art deco building and a groundfloor apartment with an opening window onto a courtyard, (not a garden as I'd imagined), a bit weird when people walked past but that was rare. It all felt very safe and secure. Philippe was really helpful setting us up and telling us about the area. With the arc de Triomphe so close and a busy shopping street,(Ave de Ternes), at the bottom of the hill, we were pleased to find ave Mac-Mahon a beautiful, relatively quiet street with local restaurants, cafes and shops for the things we needed.
Although the kitchen area is lovely and a real bonus, we mostly ate out, but it does give you the option and makes the place feel more liveable. The washer/dryer is handy too.
We had a conference at the Palais de Conres and we could have taken the metro, but found it a pleasant, easy stroll,(only about 10min), past the restaurants and great motorbike dealers. Hubby has bad arthritis in his ankles and the walk was actually easier than using the stairs at the metro. Another big plus for us was that as we were new to Paris, and spoke limited french, it was really easy to get around and find our way back to the apartment, the arc de Triomphe is a fabulous "X marks the spot" landmark.
Initially we had to stay at the Novotel La Defense as this was funded, but were so pleased we decided to move to the apartment when the 2 nights were up. It is closer to the Congres and a much, much, nicer area.
I'd especially recommend the apartment to anyone looking for easy access. Although there's a couple of steps when you get inside the foyer and hallway, it's literally only a couple.
The planning right through to checking out went very smoothly and I'd really recommend this apartment and Philippe if you are looking for somewhere to stay.
P.S. I would've posted photos but mine look pretty much the same as the ones in the listing!

Owner Philipe Schwarz provided a great location and a comfortable studio apartment close to all amenities, sightseeing and transportation. Philipe was available when needed by phone and addressed our questions with no hesitation. He certainly provided everything as promised on the website. Here are our observations after staying in his lovely, clean Paris studio for five days.
      Comfort:
      • Kingsize Bed
      • Clothing cupboards so you can unpack & live comfortably
      • Great quality towels including extra large bath towels the size of beach towels
      • European towel dryer in the bathroom

      Location:
      • 5 minute walk to the arc de Triomphe and shopping on the Champs Elysee
      • Close to Metro and city bus lines
      • Restaurants, cafés, bars, grocery, fruit markets across the street or one street away
      • 5 minute walk to airport bus

      Convenience:
      • In suite washer/dryer
      • WiFi in suite - excellent access including phone service
      • Several English language TV stations
      • Totally renewed apartment in older well-maintained building with modern kitchen including dishwasher, induction cook top, microwave, electric kettle and more.
      • Lots of counter space in modern washroom
      • Large well lit shower with rainshower head and hand-held shower

Very safe area, but comes with the following security features that appealed to my wife:
      • Entrance uses electronic secure key fob to enter main entrance and again to access courtyard for apartment building.
      • Steel locking shutters on all windows
      • Security lock on suite
      • Building custodian on site if needed (only speaks French)

Great location but noisy neighbors....bring your earplugs!

Left on 04/02/2012 for a stay in March 2012

The apartment location is wonderful in relationship to Paris as it is right around the corner from the Metro (subway). The place is also a block up from the local wine, grocery, pastry shops and street vender locations. The owner, Philippe Schwarz, is a wonderful character and speaks excellent English. The décor is modern, but I wouldn’t call it luxurious by international standards. It’s adequate, the TV works, the shower stall is OK, and the closets clean. However, the noise level is “out of control.” People are coming and going at all hours of the day and night and the electric lock doors which “bang” hard are just 20 feet away from the window. Also, the place faces a courtyard, where anyone who walks through it with hard soled shoes makes you think they’re walking through your bedroom. The place is a good value but seriously, bring earplugs or you’ll not sleep well. Take our advice!

designer chair and desk ,a design High chair and Bar and top quality beds and sheets .we have rain shower with good water pressure and a fully equipped kitchen.this clerly represent a luxury studio by international standards.
it's is a grounfloor studio on a quiet inner courtyard.no one as ever complained since the studio is rented .your comment about the noise level being out of control is amazing .There would be a lot more noise it the studio had been on the front of the building with The traffic all day and night .you are in the city centre.

It is true that the electric lock door had a problem during your stay and once you told me I called the property manager who has repaired it within days .the fact is that you called me after 4 days and left 2 days later.

      Awesome weekend in Paris

Left on 12/20/2011 for a stay in December 2011

This was our first visit to Paris but we do have quite an experience traveling in Europe with my wife. We had only three days and seeing Paris in three days is a real challenge. Of course we didn't see everything but thanks to perfect location of this comfortable apartment we managed to see a lot.

The owner provided us with very comprehensive guide on how to get to the apartment and his representative was already waiting for us upon arrival. During our stay we felt absolutely secure and comfortable almost like at home, we had everything we could possibly need.

The apartment is located close to the metro station so we didn't worry about getting back no matter how far we got in our explorations. We visited almost all traditional tourist's spots in Central Paris just by walking! Only 20 minutes walking to Eiffel Tower and 30 minutes more to Louvre, for example. Actually, walking in Paris is a great attraction too. You will see more than you could from the excursion bus or taxi cab, it's a priceless opportunity for those who love taking pictures. I can't imagine better location to stay during our next trip to Paris.

We felt absolutely happy with the trip leaving the apartment early on Monday morning. The bus station is just 15 minutes walking from the apartment and from there you can get to the airport by a shuttle bus. In the airport we discovered that one of our cell phones was left in the apartment and that was quite a stress. I want to thank Philippe (the owner) and his representative for their help! After getting back home I called them asking for help. Next day Philippe sent the phone back to us and that's the kind of really professional and friendly customer relations that I can't over-price! I highly recommend this property not because of the apartment itself which is more than enough to make positive decision but also because of the people who really care about their customers. You can be sure they will do everything to make your stay a pure pleasure.

      Beautiful flat, incredible location

Left on 06/28/2011 for a stay in May 2011

My husband and I had a magnificent time at this flat. It is centrally located to the arc du Triomphe, Champs Elysees, Metro, various shops/cafes/restaurants, and an airport shuttle to Charles de Gaulle.
The flat was clean, and featured brand new, top of the line finishes in the bathroom and kitchen. The free Wifi, telephone line, and flat screen tv made for a very comfortable stay.
This flat is so economical, as it is cheaper than a hotel, yet features more amenities (washer/dryer, full kitchen, free Wifi, free calls to us, etc). Each morning we would make breakfast at the flat to save money.
I would highly recommend this flat- you will feel like a true Parisian.

King bed in a studio apartment in a wonderful location!

Left on 06/22/2011 for a stay in May 2011

We stayed in this newly renovated studio apartment, located on the street level and facing a quiet, interior courtyard for 10 days in May, 2011. At the time I booked, the renovations were ongoing and there were no photos to review. I relied on a floor-plan sketch and an emailed description from the agent, and the apartment proved to be not only as represented, but exceeded my expectations! It is difficult to find a king bed in Paris, and this studio has one, and still has plenty of living space and storage to fully unpack and feel settled. Both bath and kitchen are new and modern---combo washer-dryer, rain head glass shower stall, and all kitchen appliances, including dishwasher make for a comfortable stay. The wifi may have been faster than my California service! Philippe, who handled the booking and met us when we arrived, was always available and responsive to our questions and needs. This location is very close to the Etoile metro stop, as well as the air France airport shuttle bus stop; a free coupon in the Printemps map will get you back to the airport and save $35 USD for 2 adults! The neighborhood has grocery shopping nearby and we had a favorite restaurant within 2 blocks for dinner. I would absolutely book this again for a Paris stay and would do no further research as I am convinced that the overall value of lodging, comfort, location, and service cannot be duplicated.

The apartment was clean and recently updated. Induction cooktop, microwave, fridge and even a dishwasher. All the pots, pans, dishes and glasses etc provided. The bathroom had a large shower with a rainshower very nice and a washer/dryer. It had really comfortable beds. There was a electronic key required to enter the building and again to enter the inner courtyard where the apartment is located. The windows had steel shutters that you could close and secure from the inside allowing you to keep the windows open for air. Once you stepped out of the apartment and turned to the right you had a fantastic view of the arc De Triomphe located a block away. Access to the metro was located around the corner or at the Etoile. Metro gave you access all around Paris, I highly recommend the Metro Pass. A safe neighbourhood we were walking around at 0130 am and felt totally safe. Philippe was very helpful before our arrival and provided information about local shopping and restaurants upon are arrival. I recommend this apartment and would love to stay again if we get back to Paris.
