Wandering around years ago, we stumbled on the Cour Damoye and knew it was the most magical street in all Paris! We returned to it yearly after that and when we one year saw the "A Vendre" sign in a window, we could not resist. The rest is history or--at least--our story. We've never changed our minds about the magic of Cour Damoye.

New York CityStylish, comfortable and stocked with a great Paris library
Left on 05/09/2013 for a stay in April 2013
The studio is fantastic. The kitchen is so well designed and complete that we would have wanted to cook every meal ourselves! But it was Paris after all, with so many good restaurants. Having the Metro Bastille so near, made getting around Paris so easy. We were able to get great tickets to the National Ballet company in the new Opera House which is within walking distance. Internet access made all the difference for us; we were able to plan our days and routes everyday without needing a "front desk". We loved the farmers market on Sunday and the energy of the Marais. What a wonderful vacation, thank you Melinda and arnie for thinking of everything a visitor would want.

Left on 05/05/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We have just spent 8 wonderful days in Paris in Melinda and arnie's beautiful apartment near the Place de la Bastille. It is a spotless, modern, fully equipped apartment---which surpassed even our very high expectations! The owners have arranged everything for the comfort and convenience of their guests. We took advantage of the taxi service which Melinda recommended and we will absolutely arrange for his services when we return. At the apartment, we were greeted by the very helpful, English-speaking local manager who checked us in. She left us her cell #, and told us she'd be available throughout our stay for any questions. Melinda and arnie have created a very thorough user guide to the apartment, which is also filled with great information about the neighborhood. They also have current guide books on their shelves. The apartment itself is open and filled with wonderful light, a very comfortable bed (!), a couch, and spotless modern bathroom and kitchen. Some of the things we loved having were: access to English language TV news, WiFi, iPhone dock, free international landline calling to the U.S., an elevator, a washing machine. Now for the exceptional location: we were literally around the corner from the blocks-long Richard Lenoir street market, open on Sundays and Thursdays. I managed three visits there--glorious fresh food of all sorts, some clothing, and always busy with Parisians. The Opera Bastille is also steps away across the Place de la Bastille. We bought tickets to the ballet the day before a performance, and loved it. Following the ballet, we strolled to dinner at 10, and then took a very short stroll down the Cour Damoye to the apartment. The Cour Damoye is a cobblestone passageway with tall iron gates that are locked at night and on Sundays (open them with your apartment key). It is a calm oasis in a buzzing part of the city. Bastille is a hub for the metro, so getting around and across the city was sinple. Our only regret was that we had to leave!

Woodbridge, VA"Perfect Paris Rental" sums it up...perfectly!
Left on 04/15/2013 for a stay in April 2013
This was our fourth visit to Paris, but the first time we decided to rent an apartment rather than staying in an hotel. We had high expectations for this apartment and they were met and exceeded. Melinda and arnie have made the entire process - reservation, payment, airport transportation, check-in and out, cleaning, etc. as pleasant as we could have hoped for. And the apartment - super location, the perfect size for a couple and perhaps a child (certainly double the size of a comparably priced hotel room), close to the Metro - wonderful! Upon arrival, we were greeted by Janet, the local agent, who made sure we understood where everything was and how it all worked. During our stay, Melinda was very thoughtful in making sure everything was going smoothly and our email exchanges were very effective. Also, the apartment has all the amenities you could possibly hope for in order to have an enjoyable stay. Ceramic cooktop, oven , fridge, dishwasher, and certainly a welcome addition - a washing machine. It was great having the convenience of doing laundry during our stay. If you've ever lived out of a suitcase in hotels for a few weeks, you know what we mean. Also notable is the overall excellent condition and cleanliness of the apartment. If you have any anxiety about the process of renting an apartment in Paris, rest assured Melinda and arnie have thought through every detail to assure your complete understanding and satisfaction. We could not have been happier with our choice and we cannot imagine staying anywhere else on our next visit to the "City of Lights".

This was a truly "the Perfect Paris apartment". Set back between two cafes is a wrought iron gate that opens to a beautiful cobblestone walk between gorgeous old buildings, so picture perfect. To discover that this was the walkway to the apartment was a fabulous beginning to our stay. The apartment is a completely charming mix of old and modern and includes every amenity you could require, including book shelves lined with Paris travel guides. It is conveniently located to the metro, patisseries, shops, restaurants and clubs. The Bastille Market is out the back gate on Thursday and Sunday. The hosts and manager could not have been more helpful prior to the trip and provided wonderful, user friendly information about the apartment, it's amenities and the neighborhood and checked in during our stay to be sure all was well. A fabulous first apartment rental experience and in beautiful Paris.

Left on 04/01/2013 for a stay in March 2013
This was our fourth time staying at Melinda and arnie's Perfect Paris Rental. We took advantage of the taxi service they recommended and the coordination between the driver and our contact at the apartment was smooth and seamless. We have stayed in charming hotels in the Marais or the Latin Quarter over the years, but none of them can hold a candle to this beautifully designed, perfectly located apartment. Some of our favorite features include the huge windows, the beamed ceiling, the full kitchen, the great internet and phone service, the super comfortable bed and the lovely, quiet Cour in which it is located. This apartment provides a truly wonderful space to relax in as we plan our day and rest and recuperate at night.
The neighborhood is a great mix of the familiar and the new. Many of the hottest new restaurants run by innovative young chefs are just a short walk or a subway ride away. Melinda's book of recommendations was quite helpful in identifying new places like the epicerie around the corner and alain Ducasse's new chocolate shop just two blocks away. The house roasted coffee from the madame at the Brulerie Daval just across from the apartment, the flower shop around the corner and the huge produce market that takes place twice a week all combine to make us feel like we are living in Paris. We love this neighborhood and this apartment!

Loved the apartment so much we've just stayed a second time.
We were greeted by the apartment manager upon arrival who ensured that we knew everything about the apartment allowing us to get settled quickly and to feel at home.
It's the perfect location for easy metro trips across the city - but there were loads of great restaurants, bakeries, and a fabulous street market nearby within walking distance. The apartment is immaculate, bright, modern and perfectly arranged for staying in Paris. At night, the pedestrian road the apartment is located on is closed to non-residents - and it is particularly then that you feel like a real Parisian who knows a secret hide-away. We plan to stay there on our next/every trip to Paris. -

My husband and I were initially attracted to Melinda and arnie's apartment because of the full-size elevator mentioned among the amenities it offered. We were already on our way to starting our family and we thought the elevator would come in handy for me when I got tired. We noticed that elevators are as rare as hens' teeth in Paris apartments, so we felt lucky to have found one, and one that was not just a tiny birdcage built to accommodate one thin person. The elevator was large and modern, as billed, and proved to be a big help for me when I came back tired after exploring Paris. But the elevator turned out to be just the icing on the cake of this delicious apartment. We felt special to be part of the cute little Cour Damoye street and we loved the neighborhood in which its located. Everything we needed was reachable in a few minutes. There are very good restaurants, the amazing outdoor food market that everyone talks about, several museums that we planned to visit anyway, interesting shops and the opera house. Then, when we wanted to visit such sights as the Eiffel tower, we just hopped on the bus out the gate of our passage and had a great cheap sightseeing tour all the way there. We also used the metro, about a minute away, to get to the Louvre and a few other don't-miss places. The free calls and wifi were also part of the whole package that we really appreciated. There was nothing we thought of that wasn't already in place. We really lucked out finding this beautiful quiet apartment and we will tell our friends about it. Thank you, Melinda and arnie for making your perfect apartment available to us.

This was my second visit to Melinda and arnie's Perfect Paris Rental and it was even better than the first visit. This time I came with a girlfriend to celebrate our 60th birthdays together in a city we both love. Melinda's apartment is beautiful and quiet and everything ladies of a certain age could wish. There's nothing we could have thought of that was not provided. Everything has been anticipated. We felt like real Parisians coming out into the perfect passageway each morning to begin our day. We bought coffee just across the way, ate most of our dinners in the fabulous restaurants in the neighborhood, shopped in the great outdoor market on Sunday morning. By the end of our week, we actually found ourselves looking forward to turning 65 when we'll be back for our next big celebration! Thank you, Melinda and arnie, for sharing your perfect apartment with us.

Denver, CODream Honeymoon apartment in Brilliant Location!
Left on 03/03/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Honeymooning in Paris is everyone's dream. My wonderful new husband and I got to live the dream in a really fabulous apartment that we discovered through friends who had stayed last year. They described it as the perfect Paris place and we agree with them. The passageway is a gem and the neighborhood is a really cool mix of trendy and old-fashioned and not tourist centric. Was it our honeymoon or is this place as good as we thought it was every day of our stay? Melinda's team of welcomer and cleaners are prompt, polite and ready to help out if needed. The down comforter on our bed was cozy and comfy. The mattress was firm, the soap smelled good, the kitchen was about 100% better equipped than ours at home in Denver. I think we also learned a whole lot about architectural design and what can be done with a space from staying here. We spent our time visiting museums (all of them easy to get to from this central location) and eating in restaurants. The problem was that there were so many good ones to choose from minutes from the apartment. A few we tried are Paris/Hanoi, Septime, Paul Bert, Bofinger, Au Vieux Chene. They were yummy and there are so many more nearby. So, we have to come back. Maybe yearly for our anniversary? Another dream!

LafayetteAnother Delightful Stay
Left on 01/12/2013 for a stay in September 2012
I made my fourth visit to Paris staying in Melinda's apartment last September 2012. My visits over the years have been with various friends, and most of us are retired and in our senior years. I, and all my friends have found the apartment to be cozy, comfortable, handsome and a pleasure to come home to after our various outings round the city and environs.
As I prepared to post my review I was surprised to find that the renter who shared part of the same month of September had different feelings judging by the review they submitted titled "Disappointing".
I find the perspective of "Disappointing" to be unreasonably negative. It does not reflect the expectations and experience of myself or I believe most people looking for a reasonably priced pied-a-terre for their Paris visit. So I would like to present a more balanced view for a wider audience.
It is always possible to pay more money and get more space. But I find this apartment and location, so close to the Opera, the Marais, the Metro and many other attractions and conveniences to be really wonderful.
If you look forward to enjoying the sheer delight of walking in Paris and staying in the thick of things with opportunities to explore in every direction while being in an authentic neighborhood which caters primarily to locals rather than narrowly to tourists, you will find this to be an excellent choice.
The apartment has been furnished with care to provide every amenity for visitors, consistent with its size. It is light, attractive, comfortable and secure. The three tall windows provide a charming view of the courtyard below. The owners have installed double paned glass so that you can close out the noise of the city if you wish to keep earlier hours than local nightlife can accommodate. (But it is fun if you like to take a look).
I am already planning my next visit and will combine it with a walking tour in the French countryside (perhaps the Loire Valley!).

Left on 01/10/2013 for a stay in June 2012
We are in our 40's and this was our "2nd Honeymoon" in Paris. We spent the first one in Paris also but at a 5-star hotel. It cost us a fortune and although it was pretty elegant, it was cold and fussy and expensive. We wanted to try something different this time and we both think that we hit the jackpot!! We loved the amazing combination of old ceiling beams and modern kitchen and even two Tolomeo reading lamps. We're designers and we have those same classic lamps in our home! Our hearts were won right there. The amazing overall design is an award winner, the space has been so well used and so amazingly planned and it is filled with light. It is really really amazing. Then the little cobblestone alleyway is to die for, we thought we'd died and gone to heaven when we first saw it. The location, right there in the heart of Paris and next to an amazing food market every Sunday is very cool. Maybe we'll tell our friends about this find or can we keep this amazing secret place in Paris just for us? Melinda and arnie, we love your apartment!! We'll be back for many more honeymoons.

Parkland, FloridaDisappointing
Left on 12/29/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Before renting, we read all of the reviews in Tripadvisor & FlipKey, and were impressed with the consistently excellent ratings. After 3 weeks of living there in September, 2012, we agree with many of the comments, but disagree about a few critical things.
First, the negatives. The apartment is a studio, not a one-bedroom, as advertised. The rent would have been acceptable for a true one-bedroom, but was high for a studio in this location. The apartment is nicely decorated (almost all white & mostly Ikea), but we found the seating to be uncomfortable. The sofas are also the beds, so you are sitting on deep surfaces with lots of bolsters and pillows, but no comfortable support. The other seating involves a few stools and 2 wooden Eames chairs which are very low, very hard and uncomfortable for us. Maybe for stays of a few days this might be OK, but for 3 weeks, the seating was seriously inadequate. For example, when reading, we often found ourselves lying on the beds and propping ourselves up with cushions because our backs started to ache when sitting upright on any of the seating. When working at the tiny computer desk, the only possibility was a small height-adjustable wooden stool which was really tough on my bottom and my back. Since I spent a lot of time at the computer over the 3-week stay, my bottom was still sore for a week after returning home. This may seem like too much information, but if you spend much time at your computer, you'll definitely experience what I'm explaining.
Although the apartment is close to the Marais, it is clearly in the Bastille and not right on the border of the 2 districts as advertised, and this makes a huge difference. Right by the apartment are lots of homeless families sleeping on the streets. Most nights, large crowds of young people congregate in the adjacent streets in front of the clubs, bars, and cafes, and this explains the late-night noise problem described in several of the apartment's reviews. Since there is no air conditioning, we often opened the sound-proof windows for fresh air, and we did have to deal with loud street noise into the early morning hours. We didn't care for most of the nearby night spots because they seem to appeal mainly to much younger people (we are in our 60s), and we had to travel a bit to find places more to our liking.
Now the positives. Melinda, the owner, is a stickler for detail and runs a tight ship. The place is spotless, and she insists that you pay for a cleaning and linen change about every 5 days. It was easy to book the apartment, and it was a pleasure to be met by her agent who gave us the keys and explained how things work. The wifi is fast and reliable, the kitchen appliances and washing machine are good, and the beds are reasonably comfortable. Even if couples plan on sleeping in the same bed, it is a good idea to ask that both beds be made up to account for the possibility of one of the couple getting sick and needing a separate bed (as actually happpened with us for two nights). The storage for your clothing and luggage is quite limited, but adequate. The elevator is great because it's quite a walk up to the 3rd floor (American) or 2nd floor (European). We really liked the street, Cour Damoye, which is a short cobblestone street, lined with apartments abd a few small shops, and gated at both ends. The gates are open during the day, but locked at night, which provides a measure of security. When locked, you get through the gate with an electronic fob which also opens the door to the apartment building. Less than 40 yards out the back gate, there is a fabulous street market on Thursday & Sunday.
Overall, we think that the apartment is best suited for younger people who are staying for one week or less. It is not in a great neighborhood, so if you like picturesque views and the best shopping and eating places, you won't find much of it right there. Personally, we would not stay there again, and we would not recommend it to family or friends.Response from Melinda and Arnie - 01/25/2013
Owner
Perfect Paris Rental considers every criticism an opportunity for improvement. We tried to respond to each complaint Stephen sent upon his arrival, but realized from the length of his list, we couldn't make him or his wife happy. Instead, we offered a full refund and assistance finding another apartment. They declined the offer and chose to stay.
We are distressed by Stephen's experience. But, we would like to point out that if you read our other reviews, you won't find a single one supporting his criticism:
1. Among over 100 reviews Stephen is the only guest to ever mistake our studio apartment for a 1-bedroom.
2. We have described our location accurately, on the border of the Marais/Bastille. Step from our passageway to Place de la Bastille, walk 100 feet and you're officially in the Marais, minutes from three of its prime destinations: Place des Vosges and the Carnavalet and Picasso museums.
3. We do not insist on cleanings every 5 days, but for stays of more than 2 weeks (on an agreed-upon schedule). Stephen agreed, then disagreed. Cleanings are not a burden but a service we offer guests.
4. Stephen's assertion that our apartment is unsuitable for older guests would surprise numerous renters in their 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's who stay up to a month. As we begin our seventh year, 35% of our guests are repeat clients. Read the review of the couple from Boston who visit yearly or the older couple from Arizona coming back for their fourth week in 2013.
5. Stephen's distaste for our neighborhood is also at odds with others' views. We are a minute from the Opera and the neighborhood offers some of the best new restaurants in Paris. A French teacher from California, in her 60's, declared the neighborhood so beguiling she found it hard to leave to explore the rest of Paris! She completed her third stay with us in June 2012.
Our goal is to make each of our guests happy but we sincerely hope Stephen finds an apartment better suited to his requirements next time.

Left on 12/04/2012 for a stay in November 2012
Melinda's apartment is small (by american standards) but meets your needs in a large way. My daughter and I stayed here while we had a girls' week in Paris. It lacked nothing except wine and cheese which we picked up at the local shops.
The neighborhood was wonderful...restaurants, shops and twice weekly street market... that more than met our needs. The metro stop a stone's throw from the door provided us with easy access to whatever museums or shops that we wanted to visit in the rest of the city!
The best thing of all was the free internet access in the unit which allow us to keep all of the balls in the air at home without having to tell our business associates that we had slipped away and to tell our friends that "I will take care of it when I return from Paris."
Would I recommend it to a friend? I already have to several and I plan to return with my husband when he retires.

Left on 12/02/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We stayed in this apartment in late October through early November. It was quiet, although we stayed through Halloween and the street outside was noisy, the noise canceling windows made it silent inside so we could rest. My husband and I could also be in control of the temperature of the apartment, and as soon as we turned on the heat, it was very responsive and warmed up to what we needed. Melinda was always a call or email away and gave me invaluable tips on things I was personally looking to find in Paris- she even found a tip on a brand new store that many Parisians didn't know about yet, probably! All of Melinda's support staff were top level- right on time, pleasant, and dependable. A big clear bar of lemon verbena soap reminded us that we were in France all week with its' fragrance. The market outside on Thursdays and Sundays is unforgettable. Melinda left a brightly colored umbrella for anyone who needed to use it, big enough for two, and there is a quote by Marcel Proust in the entryway (I won't tell you, you'll have to go see it yourself!) where the umbrella hangs at the ready.
In the section of this review that says 'would I recommend this to a friend' it is really true, I have recommended it, and my good friend will be on her way with her young son and husband this June-- she hasn't been back to Paris for 12 years, but my descriptions of the convenience and location of the apartment got her thinking- as it should have-- the reasonable price of this apartment compared to some others also makes it stand out. -

What a fabulous visit we had to Paris in late October! Melinda and arnie's apartment is truly the Perfect Paris Rental!! We arrived early and the previous guests were just leaving so we had a nice brief visit with them before going up to take our bags. How wonderful to have a lift after dealing with the Metro steps! The apartment was so clean, fresh and welcoming and Veronique very aptly gave us her instructional tour. The location is superb! In previous trips, I have stayed in this same area, but never so close to the Metro, yet on a perfect quiet little street. It seems so far removed from the hustle and bustle of Bastille just steps away! This apartment is all about location, location, location!
Thank you for making your apartment such a delightful haven for your guests. I hope I am fortunate enough to stay again on future visits. -

Loved the Paris apartment and the Bastille area. The area was lively all day and night, but the apartment on the pedestrian street was always quiet at night with the street locked. The apartment had all the amenities we wanted with the kitchen well equipped, the voltage converters for my computer and hairdryer, wonderful beds and bed linens, books and travel suggestions, and plenty of room to move around. And did I mention, it was beautifully decorated! Melinda was very helpful with getting us from the airport and having someone greet us at the apartment and show us all around, so we felt comfortable from the first day. Just a wonderful experience all around.

The location - on a very pretty and quiet cobblestone courtyard - is surprisingly close to markets and cafe activity in the busy Bastille area. The studio itself is light-filled, and very attractive -- hardwood floors, exposed beams. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, with a built-in table top and stools. It is everything you would need for a two-person meal, but doesn't take up a lot of space and leaves the room feeling very open. The windows look down on the narrow street below -- but you do not hear any street noise. Very comfortable -- Other tenants occupy the building also, but really did not hear them at all. Other visits to Paris for me have been hotel stays; this was far better --- a little fantasy of being in your very own light and airy Paris apartment!

This was our 2nd stay at Melinda's and arnie's stylish studio in Paris. The location couldn't be more convenient: very close to Place de La Bastille with 3 metro lines and many bus routes. After the hustle and bustle of Paris we always looked forward to return to 'our' charming quiet private studio on Court Damoye, one of the few remaining private streets in Paris, where beautifully crafted iron gates provide privacy and entry to a world of old Paris.
As before, the apartment was in perfect shape: stylish clean design, spotless and well taken care of. Veronique, the manager, greeted us like long lost friends. We had again taken advantage of the taxi service offered by Laurent Baudry (see Melinda's website) which we highly recommend, especially after a transatlantic flight. Having an elevator to take us up to the 2nd floor was also a most welcome luxury not often found in 18th century buildings. And let's not forget the high quality beds -- something so important for tired and weary visitors.
The apartment again allowed us to live like Parisians, going to the fabulous food market just outside our front door (one of the largest in Paris), visiting wine shops, local purveyors of cheeses and pates, cafes and restaurants.
In our opinion, this stylish Paris retreat is a definite find and a keeper. Many thanks to both Melinda and arnie for being such thoughtful and dedicated hosts.

As we had not been to Paris for many, many years my husband and I were so excited about returning. We chose Melinda's charming apartment in Cour Damoye after reading so many rave reviews. We were not disappointed, it was a truly wonderful Parisien experience - the amenities, style and the apartment's close proximity to the Metro and all the other wonderful sights Paris has to offer. The neighbourhood around the apartment has a multitude of restaurants, the market, supermarkets and so much more. The apartment suited our needs perfectly, it was a delight from the moment we were greeted by Sonia and shown all the amenities provided. The small library of maps and books on Paris were also of great assistance. Melinda's very thorough instructions prior to our arrival were very helpful. All in all returning to Paris and staying in this wonderful apartment made our holiday just perfect!

A second stay is the real test: is this apartment really as wonderful as it seemed on the first stay? Are there some problems that were unnoticed during the holiday bliss of that first time?
Has there been a decline in the quality of the accommodation after another year's continuous occupation by less than careful renters?
The answers are a resounding Yes to the first question, and No to the others. Returning to the apartment was like a homecoming; everything was as I remembered and nothing had changed, from Veronique's warm welcome to the initial impression of light and space as we walked in. The apartment was spotless, there were fresh white towels in the bathroom, and I couldn't wait to get back into that superb kitchen and start cooking.
We had arrived in a late august heat-wave, and my one concern was that the apartment might be uncomfortably hot if we had to close the windows at night. However, the sturdy fan provided was very effective and kept the room cool. (We were also glad of the good-sized fridge that could be loaded up with wonderful salad vegetables and fruit from the Bastille street market, and bottles of excellent ros茅 from the nearby Nicolas store.)
As other reviewers have noted, this apartment is the 'Perfect Paris Rental' largely because of the good taste, care and thoughtfulness of its owners, and Melinda's personal contact with renters. I now feel this part of Cour D'Amoye is my Paris home, and the only complaint I have is that it is too far from my other home in australia!

This beautiful apartment was the perfect place for us to stay for a fantastic week in Paris. The d茅cor is sophisticated, pleasant and restful. It is a charming, sunny setting, very clean and equipped with everything we needed for our holiday. Very well served with a marvelous outdoor market, restaurants and bars, set back in an attractive, gated courtyard area. It's just like you see on the photos! We could walk everywhere, plus its very close to the metro! The arrangements made by Melinda and arnie felt warm, welcoming and friendly. We would absolutely love to stay again!

We spent ages online trying to find a place to stay in our favorite city in the world and as soon as we saw Melinda and arnie's apartment we were hooked. It's just as fabulous as it looks in the photos and Melinda's attention to detail made the entire process of renting and living there a breeze. You couldn't ask for a better location, in the Marais on foot in minutes and everything else accessible easily by metro or even by bicycle (we rented some and it was the most fun we've had getting around since
we've been in Paris). We were most impressed by how well-thought-out the apartment is, with every little detail adding to the quality of life and comfort of being there. We look forward to being able to return in the not-too-distant future.

We stayed at Perfect Paris Rental based on the reviews and were not disappointed. Too bad we can give more than a 5 star rating! The apartment itself is well designed and provides everything you would want for a comfortable stay. It is well laid out and the bedding provides the best sleep possible. What we enjoyed: all of Paris right out our door, a nearby Metro stop, great shops just around the corner, and the enchanting Cour Damoye. The neighborhood is lively and buzzing with energy - the market on Thursday and Sunday provides a very unique experience. Veronique, the apartment manager, the cleaning service, the personalized taxi service recommended by Melinda and the apartment are truly the perfect combination!

My wife found this gem of an apartment through her diligent on-line searches, and it was the perfect place to stay while experiencing Paris. There is even a little washer that helped us survive missing luggage for a couple days...Again to my wife's credit she figured out how to get a 1 week metro pass that made getting around the city very easy. As you can literally be on the Bastille metro stop in about 2 minutes from the time you lock the apartment door until the time you are on the train. Tons of little restaurants bars, shops, parks, etc. Many right outside your door and others just a short walk away. All of the sights of Paris are within reach, and you really don't even need to take any taxis, just your feet and the metro. We will undoubtedly return for another visit. Thanks to Melinda and arnie for setting up such a great Paris getaway pad!!

We were pleased with every aspect of this apartment. The sign of a winning rental or hotel for us is when we start planning our return the morning of our second day. We imagine we'll not be looking for another Paris apartment ever again. The owners have thought of everything, and they should win a design award for functionality and beauty. The location is both out of the tourist areas and right in the center of things, in the sweetest courtyard. We walked to the Louvre, the islands, and the many museums and restaurants that we had read about and wanted to try. All the newest trendy restaurants are in this neighborhood. We picked a winner, as I said, and we will be back.

This was our third visit to Paris and our second stay in PerfectParisRental.com. This is our home in Paris now, so whenever we go back, we know where we will stay. This apartment exceeded our expectations from the first. We thought the price so reasonable, we expected some disappointment when we arrived. But it was much roomier and lighter and amazingly functional. Everything has been thought of. It was better designed, better located, and more comfortable. It was more charming than we could have imagined. In short, it was perfect. Few things in life turn out better than anticipated but this apartment was one. The Cour Damoye is practically a movie set and the building is so quiet and the renovated architecture of the apartment is really beautiful. Also, it is truly immaculate--we want their cleaner to come clean our place in New York. The manager is intelligent, sweet, and very helpful. I think we'll stop before too many others are encouraged to book here. We want an opening on the calendar when we're ready to book our next trip to PerfectParisRental. Merci to Melinda and arnie for sharing this amazing place with us.

From booking, greeting to departure, an excellent and informative service. The apartment was well designed and equipped. The standard of accommodation would match a good hotel but with far more space , convenience, independence and amenities. Restaurants, shopping and the metro were within a short walking distance.
We loved being in a quiet gated lane despite being in such a central area.

This was our 4th visit to Paris and the first we stayed with PerfectParisRental in a delightful studio vlose to the Place de la Bastille. The apartment was exactly as described on the info website: chic, stylisch, super clean, all the conveniences one could wish for and a beautiful old building which even had an elevator. Also important for us were the excellent quality of the beds and the cloud-like duvets.
Veronique, the well informed and charming manager greeted us after the taxi service recommended by Melinda delivered us to the private cobblestone street. The location so close to three Metro lines and many bus routes was even more convenient than expected. The twice weekly outdoor food market just steps away was among the highlights of our visit. Both vendors and fellow French shoppers were a delight to interact with. The apartment contained many mapos and other travel material which helped us negotiate our various trips even better. We were always happy to return to our stylish and calm studio at the end of each busy day. Cours Damoye was everything it promised to be and we are already thinking of another visit, hoping that 'our' studio will be available again. Merci beaucoup, Melinda.

We found our recent stay in the Marais/Bastille apartment a thoroughly delightful experience. The apartment is comfortable, tastefully decorated and beautifully maintained. We felt very much at home. The location, on a charming, private lane, is near perfect. Is is wonderfully close to the Metro. Markets, restaurants and other conveniences are also closeby. Having the bountiful Farmer's Market available on Thursday and Sunday was a real bonus. Staying at the Bastille enhanced our visit to Paris greatly. We would gladly recommend it to friends and rate the apartment five glittering stars. Thanks, Melinda and arnie.

This was our first time to rent an apartment for a vacation in Europe and the experience exceeded expectations. the communications with Melinda both before our trip and during our stay were delightful, as was Veronique's greeting service on arrival. Melinda and arnie have tastefully designed and outfitted the apartment so that you quickly and comfortably settle in. The location is ideal for foodies as you are within easy walking distance to the many restaurants in Le Marais and many patisseries and boulangeries are nearby. We especially enjoyed the sights and sounds of the Richard Lenoir market, open Sunday and Thursday mornings, just steps from the door. Look no further if you want a quiet spot in the center of it all. The shower pressure is good, the mattress firm, the nights quiet and the street is charming and feels safe. We hope our first stay on Cour Damoye will not be our last!

New York, NYParis' perfect rental
Left on 04/17/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Sheer luck led us to Paris' perfect rental apartment: a photo on Trip advisor. We had the usual questions about size, storage and comfort. However, the overall appearance of the apartment was so attractive and compelling, we looked no further. After speaking with Melinda, the owner, we ended up booking the apartment for 18 nights!!
Everything about this studio is ideal as a pied-a-terre in Paris. Set within Cour Damoye, the building is a striking and balanced blend of "old world鈥 feeling within a contemporary setting. Entering for the first time, the manager escorted us around the apartment, providing a comprehensive introduction. With each passing day, our appreciation grew, as we began to see beyond first impressions. The brilliant layout and design of the apartment revealed itself as we did daily tasks. The handbooks prepared by our hosts gave us confidence in using the appliances. Everything needed for our comfort was at hand - with meticulous attention to detail, making everything fail-proof, easy to locate, and neatly organized.
Coming from New York City, we were constantly amazed how the hustle and bustle of surrounding Paris never intruded within the walls of our apartment! Days and nights were calm and quiet, and sleep was never disturbed. We attribute this to the excellent insulation of the windows from ambient noise; and the gates on Cour Damoye being locked overnight, creating an oasis of tranquility and security within la Bastille, one of Paris' most popular nightlife venues. At the same time, the apartment is so centrally located, all of Paris is accessible via metro, bus, or foot. Not to mention, the proximity of the Bastille market that's resurrected as if by magic every Sunday and Thursday, and being surrounded by a wealth of food, drink, and entertainment!
After a few days in the apartment, we were ready to book another stay!

We have just returned from our third stay at this perfect Paris rental. We can't imagine staying anywhere else. Our focus when visiting Paris is on food, and the apartment is ideally situated for exploring the Parisian restaurant scene that is increasingly concentrated in the 10th and 11th arrondissements. Not only is it close to all the restaurants that we wanted to try, but also to the fresh produce market that takes place on Sundays and Thursdays. This proximity allowed us to stock the kitchen for the breakfasts and snacks that took place between the gourmet evening excursions. There's also a great wine shop nearby!
At the risk of repeating myself, I will say that the layout of the apartment is ideal. It only takes a few minutes of unpacking to feel totally at home and at ease in this lovely space. Plenty of hot water and heat, a fully equipped kitchen, huge windows and a notebook full of instructions and recommendations that makes it easy to settle in. Melinda does a great job of providing information in advance of arrival and checking in to make sure all is well.
The location deserves special mention. The Cour Damoye is an enchanting place, so centrally located yet so exclusive. What a joy it is to push through the iron gates, leaving the urban vitality of the Place Bastille behind as we enter the calm of the Cour. The three Metro lines that intersect at the Place Bastille will take you almost anywhere you want to go. I can't wait until next year, when we will return to this perfect Paris rental again.

My first trip to Paris spoiled me for staying anywhere else but Perfect Paris Rental. I was lucky to find it in my search for a safe, secure place for a woman visiting this city alone. Everything was taken care of for me (including someone meeting me at the airport and returning me there at the end of a wonderful week). I loved the location, the cobbled quiet street in the heart of the vibrant Bastille/Marais neighborhood, the easy shopping (a twice weekly outdoor market is a must do) and the numerous restaurants within steps of my door. I have already shared this beautiful secret with friends, so I hope there is an opening for me when I want to return!

For my visit to Paris this fall I was pleased to be able to book with arnie and Melinda again. I was not disappointed, everything was as I remembered it from a prior year visit. The arrangements went smoothly, the apartment looks as fresh and inviting as ever and the one change I noticed was a benefit: The security and privacy of the courtyard is now enhanced by the added quietness afforded by the new double glazed windows. When I returned home at night, away from the excitement and buzz of activity in the neighborhood, I could settle down for a peaceful night's rest. A benefit to be appreciated in the heart of Paris!

Located just steps from the metro, the famed Opera Bastille, bustling nightlife, and the seemingly endless open air market at Blvd Richard Lenoir, we returned from our daily explorations to immaculate, and fully equipped, way-more-than-a-crashpad studio apartment lovingly restored by the owners for their own use and the comfort of their many guests.
The full kitchen enabled us to share elegant meals together after a full day of walking or a late night concert. The luxurious beds and full-pressure shower kept us well rested and squeaky clean. The location was perfect for exploring the Marais, Pere Lachaise cemetery, Jardin des Plantes and other left bank locations as well. The metro took us everywhere else. We loved the shops on Rue de la Roquette and enjoyed a couple of the numerous eateries just steps away.
From first inquiry the owners were concerned with our interests and made every effort to anticipate and accommodate our needs. There were even earplugs available for blocking out the hum of Bastille nightlife, but we never had the need.
Wifi and free calls to the us were invaluable for contact with our kids back home. And for Paris newbies there is a full library of travel maps and books to guide you whatever your interests might be.
Thanks Melinda and arnie for sharing your piece of Paris. We hope to return, soon.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this stylish, well-kept apartment and would heartily recommend it to anyone.
After seamless correspondence with Melinda in selecting and booking the apartment, I received a warm welcome on arrival from Veronique who kindly and helpfully explained everything I needed to know about the place. There is also a very thorough book of resources in the apartment that will answer any questions you may have on how to, for example, use each appliance. (very easy, by the way). While I didn't have any issues with the apartment, I'm sure if I did, they would be addressed quickly and attentively. Both Melinda and Veronique assured me that they were just a phone call away if I needed anything, which I so appreciated.
The apartment is impeccably clean and very efficiently laid out. It is extremely well-equipped, thus making it easy to feel 'at home' right away. A useful library of books about Paris was instrumental in helping me plan my time. Everything worked perfectly including the wireless internet, phone, dishwasher, tv, oven - not surprising as everything in the apartment is new and of very high quality.
The location is perfect. Dozens of restaurants, markets and shops are just a few steps away. It is also central to transportation and easy walking access to countless landmarks, museums, etc.
From start to finish, the process of selecting, booking and staying in this apartment has been a pleasure and I will definitely plan to stay there again!
Spending a week in Paris can easily feel exhausting or overwhelming, but staying in this apartment kept me refreshed and able to enjoy the city in a leisurely way that is nearly impossible to find otherwise.

My husband wanted to return to Paris after 22 years, so I went online and found this!! It is a very nice, immaculately kept apartment with a fabulous location. It is on a very picturesque street right off the Place de la Bastille. It was really great to come home to it after long days of walking and sight-seeing. There are some very nice bakeries nearby so we went out every morning for baguettes or croissants or beignets ... yum, yum, yum!! I think my favorite nearby restaurant may have been Chez Paul. Don't wait until your last night to go there, you may want to return. The owners are most concerned for your comfort and happiness while in their apartment. I don't think you can go wrong choosing to stay here. Enjoy!!

Our welcome by Veronique was both helpful and delightful. It was reassuring that we had a resource nearby if needed, although Melinda's communication with us both before and during our stay was extraordinary. She was readily accessible by email and responsive to our questions about the apartment. Her investment in making sure the space was well maintained was impressive. Where to begin?! The detailed correspondence and attention to every detail by owner, Melinda.
Arrangements for taxis, being met by manager, Veronique who welcomed us, distributed keys and provided an overview of the gated pedestrian street, building, elevator and apartment.
The lively and boisterous Bastille neighborhood with its 3 metros and 8 bus lines steps from the door.
The largest and most popular Parisian market which makes a grand appearance every Sunday and Thursday ( Note: the soaps and cooking salts make wonderful gifts)! I could go on and on.
The Studio was just as described and pictured. Well-designed, modern, sleek and comfortable with thoughtful touches from appliances to lighting which made our stay memorable. As this was a "working" vacation -- we both own active businesses -- other than working around a a nine-hour time difference, customers had no idea we were communicating from Paris! A super-fast Wi-Fi, phone service which allowed toll-free calls to any hard line phone locally and around the globe and a flat screen HD television with cable in many languages allowed us to stay current and in touch. The best recommendation is a return booking, which we plan on doing.

West Sacramento, CaliforniaImpeccable studio, memorable stay
Left on 08/08/2011 for a stay in July 2011
This is a long overdue review for Melinda's impeccable studio in the Bastille. My significant other and I stayed here over a year ago for 8 days from July 2nd - 10th, 2010. I spent a summer studying in Paris 10 years before, and it was my So's first trip there, so I wanted to make the trip memorable for him.
I've never booked an apartment in another country online before, but I was persuaded by the location, photos and description. As soon as I initiated the process, Melinda was very responsive via phone and email, her attention to the logistical details (from arranging taxi service to ensuring we were met upon arrival with the key) made us feel at ease at what could have been a stressful process.
The studio itself was impeccably clean with beautiful natural lighting and much to our relief after bicycling through Burgundy for a week, equipped with a washing machine (and an elevator). The studio, located on an upper floor, overlooks a quaint courtyard, and we made friends with the resident artist downstairs, Jean Wuis Mendrisse, who we found out, is a world famous painter who sells his paintings all over the world, and hosted us to lunch and wine with his wife in the courtyard.
The location was fantastic, with the Marais within walking distance and great restaurants and outdoor markets nearby and convenient to the Metro. Between the aesthetics of the studio, Melinda's hospitality, meeting our friend Jean Wuis and the convenient location, we really couldn't have asked for a better stay. -

Left on 07/19/2011 for a stay in July 2011
What a great place to stay.
I've been to Paris many times before and always enjoyed it - but this was really exceptional.
Booking was very easy and pre-trip communication with the owner was an excellent way to plan everything needed for a great trip.
Upon arrival we were greeted at the apartment and we loved it instantly. There is lots of light, wireless internet access, it's clean, comfy, and with dishwasher and washing machine - great for a week away. I'm fussy about a firm bed (and I'm 6'4) and I was really pleased just how perfect the bed was. We opted for the apartment to be cleaned mid-week - not that it really needed it, but it felt very luxurious to have it done.
The location is great; it is tucked off the Place de Bastille. The cobbled street is closed to traffic and in the evening the gates at each end of the road are closed (though you have a key to let you in and out as other tourists look on in envy). Then the street (and Paris) feels like your own.
It's an easy walk to great local restaurants, cafes, and sites (such as Notre Dame, Hotel de Ville, Brancusi Museum and the Pompidou Centre) - there is even a street market around the corner on Sundays and Thursdays. Lots of local bakeries - have fun trying the bread from each and deciding which is your personal favourite. While it's easy to be tempted to eat out all the time - it's just as fun to get great food from the markets and eat at the apartment.
There's lots to explore locally, but if you want to go further afield (such as Champs-Elysees, the Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty - yup, Paris has one too), there's also lots of buses to/from Place de Bastille and the Metro too. It could not be easier.
It felt like our own home in Paris and I don't think I would want to stay anywhere else when visiting Paris. We can't wait to go back as soon as we can.

This wonderful apartment truly exceeded my expectations! It was immaculate, tastefully decorated, comfortable and well equipped. Cour Demoye is a wonderfully charming and quaint street in the lively Bastille area & is perfectly and conveniently situated, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby as well as the Metro. Melinda was just wonderful to deal with, and has thought of just about everything...from the extensive library with guidebooks to the 'red folder' which has all types of very useful information for guests. And knowing that Veronique, the apartment manager, was just a phone call away was very comforting; she was very helpful and just lovely.
The street market just steps away from the apartment on Thursdays and Sundays was amazing, and it was such a treat to return to this lovely oasis after a tiring day of sightseeing. I just can't say enough about how special my week in Paris was...I truly felt at home and hated to leave this wonderful apartment and neighborhood. Can't wait to return! -

We were greeted on arrival with perfect promptness and friendliness, and from our first moments inside the apartment we knew it was going to be a delightful stay. We found the bed so comfortable and having all the amenities in the kitchen made stoking up on market produce a fun way to eat in from time to time. We liked the neighborhood, especially strolling through the Marais; and the metro is steps from the door so all Paris seemed at our fingertips. This designer apartment in a fabulous central location on a storybook street makes me wonder why Woody allen didn't use it in his movie, "Midnight in Paris." My guess is he didn't know about it. That's good because if he did, we'd never be able to get in again. It's already pretty well booked with repeaters and lucky first timers, like us. We were fortunate to discover this wonderful spot for our perfect week in Paris. We can't wait to go back and plan on doing so next year. We won't tell anyone about it for fear of not being able to get a booking ourselves! Melinda did an outstanding job of arranging every detail of our stay. A few more important details might include the big elevator, the enormous food market right out the door, the great restaurants we walked to, the kitchen that was better than ours at home and the helpful and gorgeous Parisian manager.

Five stars are truly not enough. It was obvious the owners went to a lot of effort to make this apartment perfect for their guests. Everything is exactly as described and better. From the comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, stylish modern furniture, explicit apt. information guide, free calls to oversea land lines and free wi-fi.The apt.is located on the quaint Cour Damoye, a beautiful gated cobble walk way. It is close to the Metro, shops, restaurants and a lovely walking green belt, the Promenade. Our favorite was the Thur/Sun. Market just around the corner. The produce, fresh fish, breads, cheese, prepared foods were all fantastic. The whole experience was fascinating. Melinda has acquired a very useful library of Paris travel books and maps...you really don't need to bring any guide books from home. We referenced the library daily. Melinda was a pleasure to work with. She is quick to respond to all questions and extremely helpful. The apartment manager Veronique is amiable and gracious. You will definitely like her. She has a business just down Cour Damoye and is but a phone call or short walk away to answer any questions or give help. Very reassuring. If we are ever fortunate enough to return to Paris, we would not hesitate to stay here again.

I only got two nights at the apartment (they were all booked) and was so sad when I had to leave and move to my hotel!! Everything about this place is lovely--- big, open living area perfect for lounging with wine and cheese after a long Paris day, comfy, downy beds, wonderful full kitchen--- it was a dream. The Bastille is also a fun, lively part of the city that's wonderful to explore for first time or seasoned travelers. Space in Paris is rare and to find an apartment that has it plus an overdose of elegance, beauty and charm? Well, I'm sold. I know it won't be my last time at Melinda's place!!

The apartment in the Cour Damoye was everything we had hoped it would be. It is well located in the Bastille area with Metro and Bus lines just a few steps from the building. We were met by Veronique and led to an incredibly clean, comfortable, beautiful spacious studio apartment that lacked nothing for our 2 week stay.
The cobbled pedestrian walkway is gated at night and gave us that extra sense of security. Cafes, bakeries and markets are all close by. The Bastille area reminded me of my first visit to Paris in 1966, when I stayed in the Latin Quarter (when it was a vibrant scene; alas no more...just another tourist scene.) The Bastille rekindled my youthful memories of a Paris of excitement and adventure.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone who still has the need for an independent journey.

Left on 05/12/2011 for a stay in April 2011
First of all, we loved the location of this apartment. It was a couple of steps away from the best food market we've ever seen in Europe. It happens on Sunday and Thursday and anyone who seriously loves food should be there. But then, we also loved the many amazing restaurants within walking distance of the apartment. So we were torn about whether to eat out all of the time or eat in all of the time. We split it almost evenly with restaurants getting the edge (it was Paris, after all). We also enjoyed the opera which is across the street. But most of all, when we think over our Paris adventure, my wife and I enjoyed the comfort and style of the apartment itself. We have rented other places both in France and elsewhere in Europe (Rome, Florence, London and once before in Paris) and we've never had another rental that can hold a candle to this one. It is so well thought out that one would be hard pressed to find anything that hasn't already been taken care of, and beautifully! Even the mattress was firm and sleep-inducing. We had a wonderful time and will be back as soon as possible. It must be mentioned that the apartment was immaculate when we arrived and Melinda even arranged for her cleaner to clean during our ten days, so it stayed immaculate. Her manager is a charming woman who answers every question with a smile and intelligence and an adorable french accent. She wouldn't have been better typecast in a french movie. We were hooked from the outset and we are spreading the word to only our dearest friends and family.

From the moment we entered the Cour Damoye, we knew that we had made the right choice. It is a beautiful cobblestone lane with impressive gates at either end, an oasis in a bustling city. We were met by the friendly manager Veronique who made us very welcome and showed us round the apartment.
The apartment was perfect. Everything about it was as described on the website or it was even better! It was light, airy, calm and in immaculate condition. It was a pleasure to return there each evening, so much better than a hotel room. We slept soundly on the comfortable bed and enjoyed using the well-equipped kitchen. The library was excellent and we made extensive use of the books and maps to plan our visits and walks. The apartment has obviously been designed and decorated with a great deal of thought and care. It is so stylish and tasteful.
The area surrounding the apartment is full of interesting places to visit. The nearby market on Sundays and Thursdays shouldn't be missed and we loved wandering through the Marais with its eclectic range of shops and restaurants. We had a wonderful week and hope to return soon. We will be recommending this apartment to our friends.
This review wouldn't be complete without mentioning Melinda, who from the outset of our planning was very helpful and we really appreciated her thoughtfulness and her attention to detail.

I've stayed in other Paris apartments where the reality didn't quite match the ideal promised on the websites. So it was a wonderful surprise to find that all the glowing reviews of this apartment proved to be true - in fact even the most glowing didn't do it justice. This is indeed the perfect Paris rental!
The apartment is modern, stylish, well-fitted and equipped, and very comfortable. Its location in the charming Cour d'Amoye couldn't be better, with shops, restaurants, markets and Metro a short walk from the door.
It's a nice personal touch to be greeted on arrival by Veronique, the friendly apartment manager, and reassuring to have her contact phone number. And throughout the booking process, the personal dealings with Melinda (the fortunate owner of the apartment, with her husband Arnie) also make for reassurance.
Nearing the end of my stay I can think of only one complaint: after two weeks I feel so much at home in this beautiful place that I don't want to leave! -

We were so happy we found this Paris apartment. It's by far the best vacation rental we've ever experienced. The location in a beautiful court, right next to the biggest and best open market on Sunday mornings, was very special. The pretty and comfortable apartment was also very roomy and light. Every need was thought about. In fact, the design is much nicer than our apartment in Boston. We didn't even know we needed an elevator, but what a convenience when we returned from the Sunday market with almost more than we could carry. We also enjoyed several of the buses that stop a couple of minutes from the apartment. We used them, as Melinda had suggested, like sightseeing buses. We saw an opera at the Bastille Opera house, minutes from the front door. One rainy afternoon we even went to a movie minutes away to see a new american film with french subtitles. We must also mention that the on-site manager is always available. We knew that we could either call Melinda or the manager with any questions, although as it turns out, we had no questions at all. We took advantage of the location to try six different outstanding restaurants in our seven nights, all no further from the apartment than a 15 minute walk. We called our family and friends back in Boston for free from the apartment! We watched the BBC and CNN for our english language news. The bed is wonderful and firm. We left knowing we'll be back and we will tell our friends about this perfect pretty place. But how we hated to leave this first time!

Left on 03/26/2011 for a stay in October 2009
This was my second stay in the beautiful apartment on Cour Damoye. Again I found it roomy, light, attractive, and impeccably maintained. It is far and away superior to other studios I have seen. The custom-made coverings on the beds allow them to function (and look like) comfortable sofas during the day, but they are truly high quality beds when you are read to go to sleep. And there is a real kitchen, not a "hot plate" corner that you find in most studios, for which I was most grateful, as just a block away is one of the biggest and most appealing food markets in Paris.
Since this was my second stay, I had time to more thoroughly explore the neighborhood. To the west is the Marais, with colorful shopping, historic sites, museums, and a bounty of restaurants and nightlife, all within a short walk. To the east one can glimpse the "old" Paris of markets, shops, and every day living. It was a treat to walk to Pere Lachaise through this delightful and authentic neighborhood.
I particularly loved coming home to the studio on evenings and weekends when Cour Damoye is a private street, hidden away from the bustling city.
Most of all, I appreciated the thoughtful details that Melinda and arnie provided throughout the apartment. They seemed to have anticipated their guests' every need, from the kitchen and bath arrangements to a functional desk for my computer (complete with WiFi, of course).
I wish I could return again this year, but the studio has already been taken during my vacation time. I will try again next year! -

We truly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful Paris apartment. It provided the ideal balance of quality, comfort and convenience that we look for when we are traveling.
The design of the apartment is very well thought out. After years of staying in charming but cramped Parisian hotel rooms, it was great to finally have some room to move around and spread out. The high ceilings, the large windows and the intelligent layout of the space all combined to make this a very relaxing and comfortable environment to spend time in. The heated towel racks and the plentiful supply of hot water; the free wifi and phone calls to land lines anywhere in the world; the kitchen with a dishwasher and the washing machine...these features were all greatly appreciated!
The location is also ideal. We love being close to the Marais and the Place de la Bastille, with easy access to the Opera Bastille, three subway lines and so many great restaurants. With all that activity close by, it never ceased to amaze us how quickly the hustle and bustle of the city faded once we pushed through those iron gates and entered the calm of the Cour Damoye. What a comfortable routine we fell into! Freshly ground coffee from the Brulerie Daval just two steps away from the front door, bread from the artisanal bakery at the end of the block and fresh produce from the open air market just around the corner each Sunday and Thursday. Staying in this apartment has brought a whole new dimension to our annual trips to Paris. We can't wait to come back! -

We looked at a lot of apartments before we contacted Melinda and arnie about renting theirs. Compared to most other apartments we considered, theirs looked too good to be true. But Melinda's quick and thorough responses confirmed that we had most likely lucked out. When we arrived, we were blown away: the apartment is considerably larger than we anticipated, it is beautifully designed, and the cobbled street is the cutest street in Paris. We could not think of anything we would have changed during our week and we look forward to returning to our new Paris home. The location is excellent, the neighborhood has everything anyone needs and the market just outside the door twice each week is the amazing! This gem is also very reasonably priced and, as a bonus, has a wonderful library. We highly recommend it. We will return ourselves as often as our busy lives allow.

We stayed in the lovely Cour Damoye Paris apartment for one week in august 2008 and, again in august 2010. We have already reserved our stay for another week in august 2011! With its high ceilings it is cool even in august! The apartment is modern, functional, attractively furnished, and convenient to many many restaurants and the huge twice-weekly food market just out the door. Access to the Paris Metro is only a few steps away. An added benefit for us was its library of many interesting books that have given us new perspectives on Paris architecture, walking tours, and French culture. While the location on the walking street of Cour Damoye is in the middle of one of the busiest and most exciting parts of the city, at night the gates at either end are locked, and we feel totally safe and relaxed. We'll keep coming back!

Great restaurants are minutes away - as are world class bakeries and wine shops. Not to mention the best falafals we have ever had 20 steps from the apartment for 5 Euros each ! Fully equipt kitchen helps to save money - just grab some delicious French cheese, fruits and veges from the best open air market in Paris 3 minutes walk from the apartment on a Thursday and Sunday - a fresh baked baguette from the bakery on the corner - and your set ! In summary - if you are in Paris for a week or more - you would be crazy to settle for a cramped hotel room - choose this jewel in Paris instead !! ps: you will not find a more helpful owner than Melinda or manager than the delightful Veronique !

From our first citing of this divine apartment on Cour Damoye in the Bastille we were hooked! Location is superb: steps from the metro, Opera, farmer's market and Marais. The apartment is bright and cheery, fully outfitted with modernity where it counts: appliances, phone, computer , t.v.and ultra bathroom. Melinda and arnie have thought of everything one needs to make a vacation complete down to tour books and maps of the area. You never forget, however, that you are in a seventeenth century building: the exposed beams are works of art. Loved it, can't wait to return. ***

From the moment I found the appartment on the internet, I knew I had to stay there. I think it is unusual to find such a tastefully designed rental. Everything is exactly as described and if anything, more comfortable than I expected. The attention to detail is spot on, from the two umbrellas hanging in the hall to the very useful library of guide books, maps and practical information. For me, this beats the hotel experience hands down.
When you stay in an appartment you really 'live' there and don't feel like a tourist... it's the small things; making breakfast, endless cups of coffee, reading the papers cover to cover, glass of chilled white wine while deciding where to go for dinner, and not feeling that you need to be out 24/7
The appartment is located in a quiet private street which is picture perfect, I really love the area, having lived there many years before. It has only improved; there is a huge array of traditional restaurants, cool bars, funky shops and beautiful people!
The manager Veronique was so friendly and charming, and it's nice to know that help is on hand should it be needed. Thank you Melinda for sharing your wonderful piece of Paris heaven! -

So close to the bustling Place Bastille with its cafes, velos, convenient metro and buses, and also close to the Marais, yet the little cobbled, gated car-less street has its own atmosphere.
With wisteria plantings along the fringes and the odd small table and chairs it is so charming.
As was Veronique ( the manager ) who greeted us. She lives and works in Cour Damoye and so was about for any queries. We felt we had a Parisian friend.
The apartment itself would be good in any setting. It is contemporary and with three wonderfully big windows is light and airy. We appreciated the aesthetic approach to the refurbishment which is sensitive to the old building and uses quality natural materials. We also appreciated the well appointed kitchen and good bathroom as well as the photographs of the area and a great collection of inspiring guide books.
We loved the local markets and I found an excellent Boulangerie closeby in an adjoining street, as Veronique said one day: 'This place is rare in Paris'. -

When we arrived at the lovely Cour Damoye apartment, despite our jet-lag, Melinda's "red folder" happily and thoroughly told us everything we needed to know about our beautiful new stylish abode. We instantly felt comfortable and settled in. We quickly fell into a routine, exploring the many cafes and shops around the lively Bastille area. Despite being in the center of this busy neighborhood, we felt a great sense of peace whenever we walked through the big iron gates and onto the quiet and safe cobblestone street of Cour Damoye. The apartment has every amenity you could possibly need, except perhaps air conditioning during the heat of July - but then again, who does in Paris? An especially nice surprise was the fully functional kitchen, particularly the washing machine and dishwasher. We cooked many nights, as there is an amazing outdoor market just a stone's throw from the front door on Thursdays and Sundays. We could not have been happier with our choice - and Melinda was such a pleasure to work with. We would definitely stay here again when Paris calls us back!

It all sounded too good to be true - a stylish apartment in an area recommended by our friends and an English-speaking chauffeur to drive us to and from the airport!
Sometimes things are as good as they sound, and this was so when we recently stayed 3 nights in Paris. Space, as everyone knows, is always a premium in Paris and I was keen to avoid the miniscule and disappointing rooms offered by many hotels. Even though this apartment is compact, it is so thoughtfully designed that it seems to defy its size.
The apartment is supplied with everything weary travellers may desire - from a hairdryer to kitchen condiments (don't you hate having to buy salt for 3 days?) through to an extensive collection of Parisian guide books to ensure we made the most of our stay.
Other unexpected touches include the careful attention that Melinda (the owner) takes in arranging that we were greeted by a friendly caretaker who made us feel more like long-lost friends than another group of tourists.
And did I mention andy, the chauffeur? Make sure you hire him to collect you from the airport. We had an hour to kill before the guests in the apartment were due to leave, and andy took us on an unforgettable informal tour of Paris! In return, we shouted him coffee and croissants at one of the many cafes around the corner from the apartment.
If you want to taste the "real" Paris, then you can''t go past this delightful apartment.

As we stepped out of the taxi, full of anticipation for a wonderful week in Paris we were charmed and delighted to find ourselves in a secluded, cobbled courtyard. At street level it was lined with intriguing artist studios, storefronts and the offices of architects and other design professionals. Between them wisteria graced the walls. On entering we found the building to be quiet and well maintained. Our apartment was easily reached by elevator and we were soon gazing around the light and stylish apartment.
It was immediately clear that the owners had paid great attention to detail. They have used their professional skills and imagination to create a very pleasing and comfortable space for themselves and their guests. We were then anxious to enjoy the pleasure of simply walking in Paris so we made off to the Marais and the Place des Vosges, only blocks away - a fabulous beginning to our sojourn in Paris.Turning in the opposite direction from our front door we could walk through the courtyard to Place de la Bastille and from there straight ahead to the Seine or, veering right, Rue de Rivoli took us to the Louvre and the Tuileries. Left took us to the elevated promenade above Viaduc des Arts - wherever we walked we could enjoy the diversity and richness of the city. A left turn from the front door took us into the narrow lively street of the neighborhood where we soon found the local bakeries, delicatessens and grocery stores, or the fabulous street market on Thursday and Sunday.
The kitchen was well appointed for cooking but with such a wonderful array of food available around us, ready to be taken home, we found eating 鈥渁t home鈥 was a pleasure (and made the vacation budget go further).
We will be back, and we will definitely be staying at 'Perfect Paris Rental' . -

We just returned from a nine-day stay in Paris. We have been there many times, but this was the first time we have rented an apartment instead of staying in a hotel.
From my first email interaction with Melinda, the owner, I knew this was going to be something special...and it was. The apartment is lovely...very bright and airy and well-equipped... in a beautiful gated courtyard near the Bastille Metro. Melinda went to great lengths to make sure that our stay will be perfect...from helping us make arrangements for pickup at the airport to the book she put together on the Paris neighborhoods.
The apartment is an oasis of tranquility in the middle of a busy area of Paris. Just steps away from the gate is the best falafal in town, a great bakery and a market where you can get fresh fruits and vegetable...just beyond that is a cafe with fabulous hot chocolate.
I am running out of room to write...so let me close with this. We did not want to leave and will be back very soon!

We had a spectacular time in this well appointed apartment.
I particularly enjoyed having one of the best street markets in Paris around the corner. The kitchen space is large and well appointed for the occassional times we ate in. Some of the restaurants in the vicinity are exceptional. We appreciated the owners' restaurant list and made our choices from it exclusively.
The area is very Parisian and not touristy - you don't see tourists with guide books and a glazed look. Shop-keepers are most pleasant. We established cordial relations with the baker and charcuterie.
As senior citizens we appreciated having the apartment on a safe and private street that was locked at night (residents of course can enter easily,) We also appreciated the well maintained and clean building and efficent elevator.
It is a bonus to have the contemporary Paris Opera House nearby. Tickets can be purchased on line and the performances are exceptional.
The Bastille Metro and all the buses are less than a block away. The Herald Tribune newspaper is available to the left out the courtyard gate.
The apartment amenities met all are needs. We were very comfortable. We look forward to returning again next year.

When we walked in, we fell in LOVE with this apt. It is small but perfectly appointed as shown in the photos. It is very nicely done and in an excellent location, surrounded by amazing restaurants and bars. The best of Paris is a short walk or subway ride away. We recieved four star service from Melinda, she is professional and everything she promised was delivered on. Unfortunately, we got almost NO sleep! This apt. is located in the Bastile section where all the young Parisians like to stay up late and party and they did - right up until past 4am, every night we were there. After the 1st night we bought ear plugs but, the noise was too much. This was not a holiday or special week...we asked the locals and they explained that the street (just a few doors down) was THE place to hang out for the 20-something crowd (which it was - tons of them!) We are in our 40's and enjoyed the standard Paris 10pm dinner - getting in after midnight. We had to sleep with windows shut making it a bit stuffy, too bad since the weather was ideal. Perhaps, new sound proof windows can be installed? We loved the location, Melinda is wonderful and the apt. is great but practically NO sleep after long days of walking all over Paris was a major BUMMER.

Perfect Paris Rental considers any criticism an opportunity for improvement. But first, a bit of background on this review:
Michelle and her husband rented our apartment for 8 nights and greatly anticipated their holiday. The day they were to leave Portland, Eyjafjallajokull disgorged its black cloud and did away with Paris flights, including Michelle's which was cancelled as they waited to board. Due to the volcano, they arrived In Paris 5 days late, so instead of 8 nights, they had only 3 in our apartment. This does not excuse any noise that prevented sleep during those 3 nights, but does explain possible stress, disappointment, and frustration that might have arrived with them for their much-shortened vacation.
Noise is a widespread and growing problem in Paris and an unfortunate consequence of the recently enacted no-smoking law: Parisians now stand outside to smoke. Currently, the city of Paris has responded to restauranteurs complaints about reduced patronage, by extending their operating hours, much to the chagrin of local residents! This intermittent disturbing street-noise from the surrounding neighborhood - especially on weekends - is what Michelle heard.
Because of Michelle's review and another mention of noise, we have taken action. We've ordered all new high-performance acoustic windows, employing the latest in modern technology, to assure undisturbed sleep for our renters. You'll still enjoy the same great look of traditional French windows and the same great flood of daylight, but any outside noise will be reduced to a whisper.
So, while we can't control volcanic eruptions, we can assure you a good night's rest. And by the way, for all the travails Michelle suffered, she nevertheless wrote of the apartment in our Paris guestbook, "I could live here, it's so amazing." -

Within moments of sending an inquiry about this apartment on Cour Damoye, I received a phone call from Melinda sharing the attributes of this wonderfully restored studio in the heart of The Bastille region of Paris. We were excited to experience Parisian life and found the nearby outdoor market a great beginning! The Metro was a quick and easy walk which allowed us to get around the city efficiently. We enjoyed cooking in the well-stocked kitchen and restaurants were within walking distance. The bedding is comfortable and the private pedestrian courtyard was very safe, an important feature for 2 women traveling. It was quiet, had an efficient elevator just outside the apartment, a washing machine which was awesome and plenty of hot water. We had lovely weather and could enjoy fresh air from the open windows, but I don't know if there is a/c on a hot summer day. We compared rates for this apartment with several others and found it to be a great value for the area and larger than a typical hotel room without all the extra amenities. I would recommend this apartment to young and old alike as it was handicapped accessible, perhaps something hard to find in many Paris apartments. We really appreciated Melinda's suggestion for a driver to meet us at the airport. Andy was nice, affordable, reliable and it really was great after a long flight to have someone take us "home". It was great to have so many resource books about Paris, a comprehensive booklet about the apartment and a lovely lady who greeted us at the apartment to show us how to use everything. Free internet and USA phone calls, affordability, design and location made for a fabulous week in Paris. We will be bsck and refer all our friends!

Dear Melinda and Arnie, We had a wonderful time in Paris. Your apartment is
a beautiful oasis in the heart of one of the greatest cities in the world and
we feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to stay there. It is such a
beautifully designed space and the location is ideal. The proximity to three
subway lines makes it easy to explore the far reaches of the city. Yet there
are so many wonderful restaurants, museums and shops within walking
distance that we wouldn't have had to set foot in the Metro if we didn't want
to.
Our first night, we walked down the Blvd Henri IV, across the Pont Sully and
onto the Ile-St-Louis for a wonderful dinner at Mon Viel Ami on the rue St-
Louis-en-l'Ile. What a wonderful way to start our visit. The next morning, I
shopped at the Marche Bastille, stocking up on fruit for breakfast, and more
fruit, greens and cheeses for afternoon salads and snacks. Freshly ground
coffee beans from Brulerie Daval and wine from the shop you recommended
off the Rue St. Antoine completed the stocking of our pantry, and we settled
into a lovely routine. Each day started with fresh pastries and baguettes
from around the corner, and ended with that magical moment when we
used our key to pass through the gates into the lovely Cour Damoye. It was
heaven!
We saw a great production of Don Carlo at the Opera Bastille, an evening of
Russian music (Muossorsky, Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev) at the Theatre de
Champs Elysees and wonderful photography shows (Lisette Model at the Jeu
de Paume and Robert Doisneau at the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson.)
Given the amount of activities we packed into each day, it was great to have
a comfortable place to come home to. The internet connection and the free
calling to the USA were fantastic conveniences. Thanks so much for making
that available.
In retrospect, the only concern I have is whether or not we'll be lucky
enough to book another stay in your apartment next spring. Calendar is
filling up fast! -

MinneapolisBeautifully modern apartment in heart of the Bastille
Left on 01/25/2010 for a stay in May 2009
My husband and I spent an amazing week at this beautiful apartment in the spring of 2009.
The apartment is located on a gorgeous, cobblestone pedestrian street right off of the Bastille. The street has so much character! The metro is practically outside the door. You are withing walking distance of the Ile St. Louis and everything in the Marais...the perfect place for an extended stay in Paris.
The apartment itself is beautifully decorated. You can tell an architect designed it. We loved the open floor concept. Full kitchen and bath. Lots of storage for your stuff. Amazing wood-beamed ceiling and large windows make the space cozy and warm. It's a studio, but it felt SO much larger than the one-bedroom we had to transfer to the second week.
A little coffee shop is right across the street, and the elderly woman who owns it was so friendly - she even asked what kind of coffee maker we had so she could grind the beans to the proper finish. She's usually open in the early morning, and then between 3 or 4 to 6pm.
We only wish it had been available for the full two weeks we were there! We will definitely be back next time we are in Paris. -

I spent one fabulous week alone in Paris in 2007 in the Perfect Paris
apartment: It was so clean, bright and airy! What I needed was a vacation away
from my students and the clutter in my own home. I got just what I wanted.
Everything is absolutely new and efficient. There was lots of storage so I could
put all my things away. The library was stocked with wonderful reading (not
just great guidebooks). Right on the corner was an excellent patisserie, tabac,
cafe, grocery, creperie, farmers' market and ATM. I liked living in the Marais so
much that I didn't leave it for 4 days!
I stayed for only one week that June, 2007, and loved it so much I returned for
2 more weeks this June, 2009!
Since I'm back in California, I dream about the Perfect Paris Rental in 2011 for-
-I hope--3 weeks!
Obviously, I highly recommend this apartment! -

The Perfect Paris Rental was indeed perfect! I decided to give myself the
supreme treat (for a very significant birthday) of a two weeks' stay in the
City of Light - long my favorite city to visit. I had turned 21 in Paris and
spent a semester living there some decades back, so I was taken with the
symmetry of returning to celebrate. As I entered the Cour Damoye and
walked down the cobblestone street with the wisteria vines putting on a
show, I knew I was home.
Melinda and Arnie's apartment is truly an oasis in the lively Parisian quartier
around the Bastille. The apartment is light, bright, comfortable, well
equipped, and extremely charming with its exposed beams. Melinda had
attended to every detail of the stay; she is impeccably organized and
accommodating. Staying there could not have been easier - every question
and every need had been anticipated. Transportation by metro and bus is
steps away. I loved the street scene in the alley and the neighborhood is
bustling with cafes, restaurants, markets, and little stores of every
description.
I heartily encourage you to visit their apartment as the perfect home base
for your own Parisian adventure!

Left on 12/08/2009 for a stay in August 2008
After many visits to Paris over the years, we finally have found the ideal accommodation. We think Melinda and Arnie have done themselves proud in their redecoration of this apartment! We stayed a week in 2008 and plan to stay a week again in August 2010. Every detail is superb, including the apartment's decor, comfort, and the check-in service by owners' local representative. The library of interesting books included guides to nearby neighborhoods, which we thoroughly explored. A large farmers' market is around the corner, and excellent restaurants are nearby in the fascinating Marais District. The only bad part was having to leave after a week!

San Jose, CAA great find!
Left on 11/21/2009 for a stay in October 2009
This was our first trip to Paris together, and we were initially overwhelmed with all the choices - where to stay? We thought it would be nice to rent, but didn鈥檛 want to forego hotel guest services and amenities (especially being unfamiliar with Paris). Starting with our initial inquiry, we knew we were in good hands. Melinda was extremely pleasant and answered our many questions (and more). The level of service and attention to detail was extraordinary, from start to finish. She worked hard to ensure our stay in Paris was the best possible.
We were impressed how the apartment was situated in a private gated alley outside bustling Place de la Bastille (providing a sense of tranquility and extra security). We shopped along nearby Rue de Rivoli. The Louvre was minutes away by Metro (which we used extensively - the Bastille metro access is right outside the gate!). It was an easy walk to the cool shops on Ile Saint Louis and the Notre Dame Cathedral.
We definitely made the right choice renting this apt.

Left on 11/16/2009 for a stay in October 2009
This well designed studio on a wonderfully quaint street exceeded our expectations. It鈥檚 conveniently located near many small boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and a weekend farmers market. The streets were filled with locals and the area was not too touristy.
We were greeted by the property manager, Henry, who patiently waited for us after our flight was delayed for a couple hours. He gave tour of the studio鈥檚 amenities and recommended a few of his favorite places as well. We felt at home once we unpacked. The studio is located very close to the metro stop, Bastille, which has three different lines that stop at that station. This made a big difference when we were exploring Paris and made going home a lot easier because we had many metro lines to choose from. Many bus lines also cross this famous round-about, which allowed us to see more of the city above ground.
We will definitely come back!

Left on 11/16/2009 for a stay in July 2008
Right from the outset, trawling the internet for our 10-day Paris stay, I knew Perfect
Paris Rental was THE apartment for us. Nothing else I viewed measured up! I received
prompt replies to every email I sent 鈥 there were lots of questions to be asked from
Australia, the other side of the world! We had spent time in Paris before but now wanted
to live the Parisian "lifestyle" in an apartment of our own.
The taxi Melinda helped arrange before we left Australia met us at the airport and took us
right to the door. The apartment was more beautiful than the photos suggested, which
we found very hard to believe! We loved the apartment and its location, so central!
Each night I poured over the many guidebooks on the shelves and planned our next adventure.
We walked lots and stumbled upon amazing sights: a Roman amphitheatre, off the tourist
track with only a guitar player and us admiring its beauty! The market is so close and we
became known to stall holders because of our terrible accents! Once they knew we were
Australians, conversations developed and my bad french was forgiven.
We had an absolutely wonderful time in this fabulous apartment and have already
recommended it to other Australians 鈥 I can't think of a better place to stay!
Oh, Melinda, we are already planning and dreaming and thinking of our next trip to
Paris!
Thank you for sharing your truly gorgeous apartment with us!

This gorgeous apartment is light, beautifully designed, and comfortable. The use of space was inspiring. It was always a pleasure to come home (to our week-long "home") after being out and about. The apartment is on a private cobblestone pedestrian street in a lively neighborhood. Good restaurants within a few minutes walk, and we found excellent falafel down the block for take out when we wanted to eat in the apartment. The apartment's service was excellent. Detailed instructions were available for using things, with an invitation to call for any other needs. The owners clearly care about maintaining the high quality of this apartment. We were lucky to have found this place & would love to return.

This was our second stay at PerfectParisRental. We were there for a week in 2007. So, in 2009, it felt like coming home to our own special treasure in the most beautiful city in the world. We feel so possessive about this amazing apartment that we caught ourselves resenting anyone else staying there! Who are these strangers Melinda and Arnie allow into OUR apartment? The wonderful design, the everything-was-thought-of details, the comfortable bed, the gorgeous linen covers, the design-icon lamps and furniture, the kitchen (which we appreciate for its amazing design and possible usefulness, but quite frankly, never used--restaurants are so near and so good).
Anyway, we love the place! I almost forgot to mention that the location, on a little cobbled private street is straight out of a fairy tale. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Paris! But we wish you would.

Across the street to the patisserie for croissants each morning-then off to a cathedral or museum. Perhaps a simple cruise down the Seine in the moonlight. All of this was just outside our door. It was a lifetime dream come true. The apartment is so convenient to everything in the city and offers so much flexibility to how we lived. The metro is just outside the Cour Damoye entrance, and so easy to navigate. Each night we would return exhausted to the sanctuary of the cour, perhaps put together a small meal and fall asleep awaiting the next days adventure. We cannot express sufficiently the apartment's wonderful location and comfort.

San DiegoFabulous experience
Left on 09/15/2009 for a stay in March 2008
I stayed for one week. It is well appointed and well secured. I recall it being a block from the largest outdoor market in Paris. It was surrounded by bustling life and diversions of all kinds: bookstores, wine shops, restaurants galore and nightlife. The train is just at the end of the row. Principally it was a stop off between sojourns, but it was comfortable enough to spend rainy days in as well. Having kitchen of your own beats a hotel. Whole-heartedly recommended.

Left on 09/08/2009 for a stay in March 2008
We stayed at Melinda and Arnie's lovely Bastille apartment last spring. It was in a fabulous location, one half a block from the Bastille metro station, central enough to all but outside of the hurly burly tourist areas that you so often get when staying in the latin quarter or near the Louvre. The cobble stone street the apt is located on is adorable, and the elevator and other apt amenities critical to the footsore traveler. The apt was extremely clean and well designed with new and modern furnishings throughout, with beautiful large windows all along one side with a courtyard view. One bookcase is lined with all the most recent travel guides for lovers of music, art and fine dining. The free phone calls to the states and free internet were also great for keeping in touch with envious friends and relatives back at home! The open kitchen has all the equipment needed to produce sumptuous meals of your own if you feel like a night in. Great place, deserves the five stars hands down.

Our recent trip to Paris could not have been better! The combination of an amazing city with an amazing apartment to come home to made it perfect. We had all the luxuries we needed at the apartment. It is a little oasis; cozy and comfortable with every detail beautifully designed. Cour Damoye is one of the most charming cobblestone streets we saw...peaceful and secluded yet the city was just beyond the gates. Great stores and restaurants were within a few minutes walk. We especially enjoyed the open-air market just around the corner with fresh produce (some of the best I've ever tasted). I traveled with my 13 year old daughter and we felt comfortable and safe the entire time. I was perfectly comfortable having her explore the neighborhood on her own. I could not recommend the apartment more. I hope to be back very soon. Thank you, Melinda!!

Though the photos try to capture the beauty of the exquisite Parisian apartment, I never imagined the feeling of stepping foot into "our" apartment every day of our vacation. We laugh that it is certainly the only time on vacation that going "home" to our apartment was as exciting as getting out each day to see the city. Every evening when we came home, I would lie in our heavenly bed and meditate on those ancient ceiling beams. The peace, pleasure, and pure luxury of being in that gloriously perfected minimalistic space is with me still. Somehow the design of the space preserved its antiquity while being as ridiculously comfortable as spoiling myself in Paris should be. Thank you so much. I have told all of my design friends about this treasure and about you.

This location is well situated to all transportation and
walking distance to many points of interest. Enjoy the local
restaurants, bakeries, shops, and markets. This
neighborhood is very lively and exciting to explore and
you鈥檙e lucky to be a part of it!
How wonderful it was to return to Paris but this time we

museums, and superb dinners from local merchants at our
apartment.

This is how Paris should be experienced...in a comfortable, chic aerie such as this, within the very heart of bohemian Paris! We had every amenity necessary provided for us by our gracious hosts: architecturally interesting and stylish decor, fully equipped kitchen, indispensable guide books and personal commentaries and recommendations, and, mmmm....cozy down duvets! All this in a lovely light-filled, open-beamed heritage apartment.
We appreciated the easy access to restaurants, cultural sites, museums and the wonderful, regularly-held open-air farmers market around the corner. What fun to walk a mere 2 minutes to gather in your basket the freshest of vegetables, dairy and meat products, then within moments, be back at the apartment testing your newly inspired culinary skills!
Our favorite aspect of the apartment building itself is it's location on a most charming, and very private, court. Gorgeous wrought iron gates at either end of the narrow, cobblestoned pedestrian walk, provide aesthetic character and complete security at night.
This is a truly unique and fabulous place to stay, and we certainly will at the very next opportunity!!!Thank you, our gracious hosts, for creating this very special, memory-making home away from home... -

This is a wonderful apartment available for rent in an ideal Paris location. My brother and I had a terrific time during our one week stay and definitely intend to return next year. The property exceeded my expectations. I knew it was beautiful from the images on the owner's website, but it is even more impressive once you actually arrive. Everything was perfect! The decor is lovely and immaculate, the bathroom is large and the beds are very, very comfortable. There is so much room to move around and feel comfortable. It truly feels like a home away from home. Not only was the apartment great, but the location is ideal!! The central location allowed us to walk if we desired, but also take the metro which was right outside the Cour Damoye gate. Also, there are so many great restaurants and shops right in the area. All in all, we had a wonderful time. Our first trip to Paris was a fabulous and memorable one in large part because of our wonderful accommodations.

I've stayed with a friend in Paris, but this year I decided I wanted an apartment of my own and when I saw yours, I knew it was just what I had in mind. I've always loved little hidden streets in Paris and yours is one of the most charming that Paris offers. Wow, how did you find it? It's amazing! But then, your apartment is amazing, too. I don't know where to start: perhaps the kitchen which any cook would kill for? Or the linen-covered seating? The comfy bed? The nice roomy shower, with plenty of hot water? Or maybe it's the whole shebang--you guys did such an amazing job. I'm telling all of my friends but I really hope that they pay no attention to me because I want your place to be available every time I return to Paris. Now I've got myself a new home. I can't imagine staying anyplace else in Paris. Thanks, again, for such a lovely visit.

This was my first visit to Paris in many years, and my first stay at your
Perfect Paris Rental. I could only stay 9 nights -- so that's why I'm coming
back this October (2009) for 10 nights more!
We loved everything about your apartment, from its location in the quiet
charming alleyway, to its custom furnishings, comfortable bed, and, let me
not forget, to the biggest and best food market right outside the gates of
the Cour Damoye! I'm looking forward to my Sunday morning ritual again
this October, of buying everything I can carry! Cooking was great in the
modern and well-equipped kitchen but was a source of great conflict
because we wanted to eat in all the wonderful restaurants we could walk to
from the apartment.
And then there was the Opera House just 30 seconds from the door. Too
many things to do in a great neighborhood and way too little time.
Last year Paris was a dream that passed too quickly, so this year I'm
planning to savor every moment to have memories that last until I book
again for the following year.
Thanks, Melinda and Arnie, for making my Paris dreams come true.

We were among your first guests when we rented your terrific
apartment for a week in 2007. We thought it was pretty great for our
first trip to Paris. We didn't realize just how great it was until we
had a look when we came back at other apartments listed on various
rental sites. Your low prices, design sensibility and great details
knocked us out when we were there, but boy, when we compared, we
practically became your groupies! How do you do it? We want to buy a
place of our own in the charming Cour Damoye and renovate it so that
we have insurance in case you ever decide to permanently move there
yourselves and not rent it anymore!
We did a fair amount of cooking because we couldn't resist the
Thursday and Sunday market about 2 seconds from your door. Never had
we imagined such a display of gorgeous food, both already prepared
and calling out for us to do some preparation ourselves. The great
thing was, when we lugged it all back, we had the elevator do all the
work, no schlepping is necessary thanks to the great large modern
elevator in your building! ! Is yours the only building in Paris with
such an enormous elevator, instead of one of those little cages that
holds about one person and an additional toothpick?
The location is about as fab as we could imagine and you were great
to deal with. So, Melinda, that's why we're coming back for another
week this September, 2009. Thanks for everything and please don't
ever decide to stop renting. Paris wouldn't be the same without your
PerfectParisRental.
