    Additional Location Information

The Village Saint Paul, the4ème arrondissement, is one of the very unique places Paris has to offer.
The name comes from the original village that used to be just outside Paris many centuries ago. Nowadays the address is a well sought out place to be. The apartment itself is just between theMaraisand theIle Saint-Louis, hence it offers different atmospheres according to one's mood of the moment.
The area is very rich culturally speaking and close to many of the main sites of Paris. Notre-Dame or Place des Vosges are both less than ten minutes away. Just around the corner on rue Saint-Antoine there is the local Marché, with all its delicatessens, grocery shops and a local supermarket. The area also offers plenty of choices in cafés and restaurants, with its small streets and alleys chock-full of different style places to eat.

      Paris in Le Marais

The unit on Quai des celstines was outstanding. The location was perfect and allowed for easy walking access to many sites, and easy metro access for locations further away. Groceries, fresh bread, restaurants, and exquisite shops were in the neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again. Services by Guissepe from Haldiss was unparalleled!

charming, cute apartment in historic neighborhood

Left on 09/13/2012 for a stay in August 2012

Enjoyed our stay very much. The Internet was the only glitch- it wasn't working- but the agency provided us with a user name/password to use the hotspot service- so it was ok. Agency (Halldis) was really great. Loved living in an apartment instead of a hotel-and the apartment was in good shape- bright and clean. Beds comfy, but the sofa bed is very small- ok for little kids but I wouldn't expect adults to be comfortable on it. Great location- close to Sully-Morland (7), St Paul (1), and Bastile (1,8...) metro stops, so easy to get anywhere fast. Walking distance to Notre Dame and St. Germain (across the bridge). the Marais neighborhood has lots of places to eat- and Rue St Paul (right outside) has cool antique shops.

bedroom with 2 twin beds, small dresser, and closet kitchen, bright window, courtyard view

Modern 1 bedroom apartment in Marais, simply OK

Left on 07/12/2012 for a stay in June 2012

The 1 bedroom apartment in Marais/St. Paul Village was simply OK, but I wouldn't advertise the apartment as modern. The kitchen has only been modernized. The washroom is not modern and poor on cleanliness. The bedroom is very cramped. The location of this apartment is excellent and was our favorite part. The location is what made us overlook all the negatives. Very close to Bastille and 1 min walk to the shopping and restuarants down Rue du Rivoli.
A/C did not work properly, so the apartment was very hot at night. The apartment has internet, but not wireless, so we couldn't use our ipad or connect our phones. This was very unfavourable as we wanted to look things up on the internet or connect with family via email. We had to find an internet cafe and pay to use internet during our stay. I probaby wouldn't stay here again. I would look for another vacation property in the same area.

Centrally situated, comfortable apartment with good, local shops

Left on 03/12/2012 for a stay in March 2012

In the southern Marais area of central Paris, near the Seine, opposite the Isle St Louis. Easy walking distance of Notre Dame, the Louvre, Pompidou Centre etc. Excellent local food shopping in Village St Paul. Choice of local bars, cafes and restaurants.

The apartment makes good use of not much space, is attractive, warm, quiet and comfortable. Spotlessly clean with good facilities.

Charming and efficient service from Halldis staff.

      location, location, location!

Left on 06/21/2011 for a stay in June 2011

we would definitely go back to the marais. we found the metro a few steps away, walking distance to the opera, closeness to shops, fresh croissants a block away, bistrots which spelled paris to us( chez margot around the corner, le temps des cerise where we waited out a rainstorm with jazz from the fifties wafting out of the kitchen,la tete ailleurs, close by for a fancier dinner,) two blocks away, the rue de rivoli which served our needs, the bhv as much department store as we required, and our last night we relented and had an italian meal at pizza momo, greeted at the door with an hand shake. what about all those frosty parisiennes,? didn't see them. monoprix was close for some groceries and last minute gifts. Of course there were the miles we walked( we were there three weeks), the bike tour, the bridges we crossed and recrossed, the facades of buildings we looked at which we like even better than the museums. ..and then there is our next trip, we hope within a year. The only criticism is that furniture could have been a bit more comfortable and the lack of full internet set up would have been a plus, and for the length of stay, a serious problem.

Perfect quiet location situated just across from the Seine!

Left on 08/13/2010 for a stay in July 2010

This apartment was furnished well, was about 10 steps from the metro, across from the Seine and near restaurants and small grocery. I couldn't believe how quiet the apartment was given that we were in the middle of a huge city. The courtyard was great and everyone was very friendly,

I had a great time in a very good apartment in a terrific location. I usually stay in a hotel but from now on I will rent an apartment, particularly one in the Marais.
