Fantastic apartment on rue de Rivoli

Left on 04/06/2013 for a stay in March 2013

This was a great apartment. Three adults (husband, wife and adult daughter) stayed for a week for the wedding of our other daughter. We were very comfortable. One night we had 12 people for dinner: the apartment was still spacious. Kitchen is modern and yet apartment retains its classic French style. We were asked to use PayPal for a security deposit which was returned by Bertrand the day after our return home to Canada. Highly recommended.

      A home away from home!

Left on 03/02/2013 for a stay in December 2013

We were delighted with this spacious apartment on our recent 11 nights in Paris. It was convenient to the Metro, shops and within walking of the Louvre, Notre Dame and the wonderful food market in the Bastille. The apartment was comfortable and homely, especially after walking all day. The kitchen was well appointed and appliances were easy to use. We were a family of 4 adults and there was plenty of room. Bertrand respond to our inquiries promptly and was there to meet us on the day and even had a welcome wine and flowers on our arrival. If needing a quiet drink or good meal, please also visit the restaurant right next door. We loved it and would not hesitate to stay here again.

We loved the apartment and the location!

Left on 09/20/2012 for a stay in August 2012

The apartment was spacious and elegant with hardwood floors, high ceilings, and many large double pane windows overlooking Rue de Rivoli, and only a short walk from the Louve and Notre Dame. Bertrand, the owner, gave us a detailed introduction to the well furnished apartment explaining how to use the many modern conveniences therin such as HD Catv, washer/dryer,microwave, dishwasher, coffee and expresso makers, internet phone, bladeless fans, etc. There was even an elevator. The street was often busy, but with the bedroom windows closed the bedrooms were very quiet. We would like to stay there again.

      Great location

Left on 09/14/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We stayed in the apartment with our two teenage daughters. The apartment was in a great location near to Louvre/Notre Dame/Seine etc. Apartment was spacious but slightly uncomfortable due to the hot weather as we could not open windows at night due to street noise but this is to be expected with city centre living. Bertrand met us at the apartment and explained how to work things which was great. The booking process was also easy.

Fantastic find in the heart of Paris

Left on 09/09/2012 for a stay in April 2012

Our family of 4 stayed in this apartment in april. The apartment was perfect for our purposes, very spacious and excellently located. It had everything we needed for the week we were there and Bertrand met us on our arrival & did a great job in showing us how everything worked. The apartment is on the 3rd floor, accessible via elevator or stairs, has a very good heating & security system and was most comfortable. The apartment also had a very homely feel about it. When we next visit Paris, we will certainly be staying here!

great to walk to so many things.I walked with my 2 children (2yr and 5yr) to notre dame, got icecream, watched the happenings along the river, listened to buskers and bought pastries. easy from here. metro is across the road and a 3 min walk away. There are great jewish historical sights close by.Kids little playgrounds in v short walking distance.(ask the lovely lady on level 1-she has children).2 supermarkets close by. It is on a main road which is busy at different times of day but it is not noisy in the unit unless you leave all the windows open.

Really large apartment! So not Paris in size! Very paris in character. Lovely doors and paris windows. New kitchen with all the modern conveniences. washing machine in laundry (what a blessing when travelling with kids!) There actually is a third room somewhat like a change room which we kept all out messy luggage in. My only concern was the lovely old polished floors-they are a bit creaky and I thought the people downstairs would get annoyed with my loud running children, but they never did! (he is the apartment owners brother so probably more patient than most, and he has kids too.)
Honestly you cant go wrong with this choice, the space is worth it-especially if you have kids or travelling with friends.
The apartment is on a line that goes easily to the louvre, arc de triumph, champs elysees etc... but you basically need to make changes to go anywhere else eg airports. You get used to that though. Always have french coin on you - the metro machines dont take notes or foreign credit cards-thats really annoying about paris.
Summary-we really felt like we were living in paris not visiting it! The friendly family environment (ie neighbours), the beautiful building, the awesome space... It really did add up to a delightful time in paris. Bertrand was easy to deal with, always prompt and polite in his correspondence. His family that live in the building are lovely too. I would reccomend you stay here... It's great!

      Oasis in Paris

Left on 07/08/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We were two couples staying for one week and this apartment was perfect. We were concerned booking on the internet as it was so much bigger than any others advertised but it was as described. Both bedrooms were very spacious, as was the lounge, dining room. Kitchen was very user friendly. It is Bertrand's home which was wonderful as it felt so comfortable to be in and not cold as some holiday accommodation can be. He met us and showed us through everything. His English is great and as our French is atrocious that made it so much easier. The Marais is a good area, very central, only a couple of streets from the river, close to all amenities, walking distance to the Louvre, Notre Dame, and much more - great cafes, supermarkets, etc. It is a busy street but with the windows closed it was not noisy or hot. We would definitely stay there again if we are fortunate enough to have another holiday in Paris.

Left on 05/04/2012 for a stay in April 2012

We spent 6 days in Paris. The fact that we were staying in this spacious, comfortable and very well located apartment ensured that our holiday was memorable. At the end of each day walking and exploring the city, when we would come back to this apartment, it felt like a home away from home.

Bernard is a perfect host. He was in touch with us right from the time we boarded our flight till we reached the apartment, guiding us. He was there to welcome and make us feel at home before leaving.
The apartment is big, airy, naturally well-lit, well equipped and very comfortable. There is a great mix of old and new in it's decor. The location is fantastic! A lot of places are within easy walking distance- monuments, museums, shops, cafes. Metro stations and bus stops in the immediate vicinity make longer travel hassle free.
Among the many things that I liked about the apartment, it's location and decor are the foremost.

The right mix of old and new!

      At home in Paris

Left on 04/16/2012 for a stay in April 2012

This apartment is terrific! Ideally located in the Marais district just a couple blocks from l'Hotel De Ville. The owner is extremely helpful with information on the neighborhood and speaks English well. Our stay was scheduled by email and went just as planned.
The apartment itself is very spacious with comfortable furnishings and a great kitchen with top of the line appliances. Bedrooms are large and were perfect for our stay with our adult daughter and her friend.
There are three nearby metro stations and numerous markets, cafes, and restaurants. Notra Dame Cathedral is an easy walk as well as Bastille.
My wife and I have been to Paris many times over the last 30 years and now I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!

      Loved it!!!

Left on 11/07/2011 for a stay in September 2011

If I go back to Paris, and this apartment is available, I would definitely stay there again!

The owner made every thing easy. He was very easy to communicate with prior to our trip (I'm sure he would have been during our trip too if we had needed). We were provided with all the information we needed to easily find our way there, and then were readily greet on arrival. He was very helpful, answered all the questions we had, showed us around the apartment. There was even wine on arrive and he'd set up the phone so we could call australia.

The apartment was spacious and in a location that me and my family loved. Exploring the area around the apartment made me love the location even more. It was close to lots of places to eat or if you don't want to eat out, there are supermarkets close by and the kitchen is well equip. The metro is close by as are some of the amazing sights of Paris.

The owners family also live in the apartment building, and they were very helpful when we found the apartment door lock a little tricky and when i accidentally locked our train tickets in the apartment upon our departure!!!

The only criticism i can think of is that i didn't find the pillow comfortable. Other then that, i think the apartment only added to an excellent trip to Paris!
