IthacaLovely and spacious apartment in the Opera area
Left on 04/26/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We stayed in this apartment for a week over Easter. It was wonderful to have a home base in Paris that was roomy enough for all of us (4 adults and 2 kids) to stretch out after hours of sightseeing. The apartment is large and comfortable, with an eat-in kitchen, a large living room and a dining room as well as three bedrooms. We enjoyed cooking and eating in the apartment (and saved money that way over eating all our meals out).
The living room has two deep velvet couches perfect for reading or lounging, and both the living room and bedrooms have wonderful old windows with beautiful grillwork overlooking the street (which was relatively quiet.) The location is nice, a real Parisian neighborhood with cafes, bakeries and right near La Mere de Famille, a fantastic old-fashioned chocolate shop. It is also near the covered shopping arcades filled with antiques, old books and other finds.
The apartment has a washer and dryer, and includes a computer with internet and a printer, which was very helpful for making advance reservations for some of the top sights and printing out them out. There is also a sound system so you can listen to music throughout the apartment.
Both the owner and the manager were very responsive, answered all of our questions promptly and provided very helpful information about the apartment and the neighborhood, local restaurants, etc. all in English.
While we were there the elevator was broken, so we had to walk up 4 flights of stairs, which could be a problem for some people, but wasn't a big deal for us. Though the apartment is ideal for a family, it would not be good for small children as the furnishings include fragile objects. Also worth noting is that the 4 bathrooms are actually two small rooms with toilets, and two rooms with showers (and one bath), typical of a building of that vintage.
We look forward to someday returning for another stay here.

SydneyLive like a local in this huge Parisian apartment
Left on 01/10/2012 for a stay in December 2011
There is nothing I can say that was wrong about this apartment!
We are a family of 5 (with three young kids) who spent a wonderful month in Joanne and Stephen's apartment in the 9th. Our aim was to try and live like a local, and we did just that. The location of the place is wonderful - walking distance to many Parisian highlights, 5 min walk from two separate metro lines and around the corner from hundreds of food shops and cafes.
The size of the apartment was huge - plenty of room for a large family! Bedrooms were big, the kitchen was very well stocked and the living spaces were perfect.
Although we rarely used her, the lovely property manager was also on hand to help us (in English!) whenever we needed.
Definitely worth staying! I hope we'll be back some day.

New YorkParisian Charm in the 9th arrondissement
Left on 05/17/2011 for a stay in August 2009
I fully recommend this 5 star apartment to anyone, even the most discerning. Staying in this beautiful home was such a treat. Fully stocked with all the linens/towels that we needed, the kitchen had every appliance and utensil one could imagine.
The 9th arrondissement I had spent time in before but this neighborhood is beyond charming. Very easy access to the Metro and finding taxis in the evening was no problem.
The only thing I didn't like about my stay was the day I had to leave (as it meant going back to reality). I definitely plan on using this apartment as my "pied-à-terre" in Paris. -

Cincinnati, OhioLiving like a Parisian
Left on 05/17/2011 for a stay in April 2010
We didn't want to leave! From the moment we walked into this elegant apartment, my daughter and I felt as if we were living like Parisians. The location was great - we found loads of good restaurants nearby, convenient access to public transport, small grocery stores, theaters, a market street, and a taxi stand.
The apartment itself is very nicely decorated and spacious. The overall layout worked well for us, with large living areas and an eat-in kitchen.
I would highly recommend this rental property, and would stay again if the opportunity arises.
