I spent one week in delightful Studio la Fontaine with my husband.
All pictures on official website really represent what the studio is like and I was positively impressed by the wonderful taste in choosing decorations and furniture.
the studio is located in a quite and very tipical neighborhood with baker, supermarket and metro all very close.
we had a problem with hot water during our stay due to some reparations going on in the building and we really appreciated the greeter proposal to move us to another Cobblestone property until the issue was fixed.
this was our most romantic stay in a foreign city, everything was perfect! we really felt at home for the whole week!
I would definitely recommend this studio to any couple wishing to visit Paris, great location, great atmosphere and smooth communication with owners. -

Es un estudio muy bien ubicado, cerca de la estación de metro República con la cual es fácil hacer combinaciones con otras lineas. El estudio es muy acogedor, tiene todo lo necesario para sentirse como en casa, las fotos que se muestran son la completa realidad!. Sobre la mesa te esperan con una botellita de vino y un chocolate.
Hay una serie de peliculas francesas para DVD muy buenas (que no pudimos disfrutar) y una muy buena colección de guias de turismo y cocina para conocer aun mejor Paris. El WI FI funcionó perfecto. Se pueden realizar llamadas gratis a varios paises (telefonos fijos y obvio que en forma no abusiva)
La boulangerie que está en el edificio siguiente es excelente!!! y los precios son muy accesibles (comparando con otros lugares).
Cerca hay 3 supermercados ( G20 y Super U), y un super Picard donde venden una gran variedad de congelados gourmet (realmente.. los que probamos muy buenos) tambien con precios muy accecibles,

Apartment was tiny but very cozy. The location is very good and easy to move around. The bakery downstairs has the best macaroons and lots of good dining places around. Loved all the Paris related books in the apartment - they were really helpful in finding the best markets and cafes. Also, everything is very well organized with online booking and reception in the apartment.

We had a wonderful time in this cosy apartment. The apartment is in good condition and very clean. It's small but has everything that you would need for a real Parisian experience. Its close to the weekly market with wonderful walks to all of the tourist attractions.

My daughter and I stayed 5 nights in this studio in February. We were very happy with it. Even though it was quite small we did not feel cramped. The studio has been set out to maximise the small space. It is beautifully decorated and there is a good selection of Paris themed Dvds which we enjoyed in addition to Paris guidebooks. It was a little difficult to find, but that may be because our orientation is to Melbourne streets that are more grid like in their lay out. Lauren, our greeter was very warm and friendly and offered us information about the area. The building was very secure and required passing through 2 security doors to get to the studio. We felt safe walking back at night after a day out, although it was before midnight. There were plenty of restaurants in the area and the prices I felt were cheaper than in the more touristy areas of Paris. There was a laundrette, supermarket and bakery close by. The metro was easily accessible. The beds were very comfortable and although it was winter the apartment was warm without having to turn on the heating. The free international phone calls were a bonus. There was plenty of hot water and although the bathroom was very small this was something that we could put up with. The kitchen was well stocked to cook a meal if desired. The only small negative thing that I could say was that I thought that one towel each for a 5 night stay was a bit inadequate. However, I would still recommend this studio to friends and stay here again. Jennifer from Cobblestone apartment rentals was great to deal with and answered all my questions promptly.

A very cute apartment to make you feel like you actually live in Paris (even if only for 5 nights, as was in our case). It was so very difficult to find - so make sure you work out your own directions (the streets are very confusing!) and which Metro stop you will be getting off at. The greeter was there and very nice and explained the apartment to us.
A few things to note: the bed is a single bed, with a pull out trundle bed underneath (not a double bed) which may not be what you want in romantic Paris (we laughed about it but didn't mind - we were just happy to be experiencing living in apartment in Paris!), - the apartment is very small (especially the bathroom), however we were out and about most days and evenings, so it didn't really bother us & there is a little table at the window you can look out and pinch yourself that you are in Paris!! It's a pretty view overlooking the trees and square below and looking across to the other lovely apartments. The self contained kitchen really does cover all basis and it was nice to have while staying there for a few nights.
For the price, this apartment for a couple (or single(s)) is a great place to stay in Paris. You get to feel like you are really experiencing Paris - the surrounding arrondisement is very cool - a mix of grungy, hip and up and coming eateries/bars, with old established places... It's definitely not the left bank, but it is energetic and by even staying in the area you feel more a part of Paris. My partner loved the area. Make sure you eat at the restaurant downstairs (Michelin starred) - its great. Also a few doors up from that restaurant (on the same side of the apartment) there is another restaurant, the chef/owner speaks English and he is so passionate and keen on you enjoying your evening and the food was really delicious .. I feel terrible for not remembering the name (but do try!)... And for the real food lovers - Le Chateaubriand...is literally a street away - which was awesome! If you can get a reservation - great, otherwise be prepared to wait in line for an hour or so! We went on our last night and loved it!
A few other things worth noting - the apartment has lots of Paris guide books (which were useful), there is no air-conditioning, but a small desk fan - we were in Paris in the middle of a heatwave so the apartment got very warm, and due to the noise overnight we had to shut the windows, I think that the heat (around 37 degrees) was out of the ordinary , there are Dvds and wireless, nice comforts especially if you are having an extended stay. I also felt very safe in the apartment and the surrounding areas. Oh and there are a number of Metro stations in close proximity - we used Republique mostly.
Overall, I was very pleased we chose this way to experience Paris. I would say that next time I return to Paris I would definitely stay in apartment however may choose a slightly bigger apartment maybe in Marais... we were very happy with Cobblestone so would likely look to them next time if in Paris.Response from Jennifer Miller of Cobblestone Paris Rentals - 01/25/2012

My boyfriend and I went to Paris for a 5-day break this November, and were looking for a comfortable and private but affordable place to stay. Studio La Fontaine was exactly what we needed; great location and a quaint little place to call home for a few days. Jennifer and our greeter Kelly were friendly and helpful, and we knew almost everything we needed to know about our stay before we arrived, so we could get stuck straight in to enjoying ourselves! Rue J-P-Timbaud has a variety of wonderful little restaurants and a great nightlife, and is so close to three Metro stations that Paris really is at your fingertips! The kitchen area is small but has everything you need, and we saved money by using the bakery downstairs and the local market (which is great; it's at the end of Rue J-P-Timbaud on Tuesdays and Fridays - go and see the man with the coffee; his Rwandan beans are to die for and he's a genuine connoisseur) and cooking at home a few nights. Only reason it wasn't five stars was that we didn't realise the bed was in two parts, so our romantic Paris evenings involved two falling-down-the-middle events! Definitely recommended to friends travelling together, and to couples who are more creative in their sleeping arrangements than we are, or who are both small enough to fit on one half of the bed together!!

The two twin beds are separate and meant for individual use. They can be pushed apart for privacy or together for proximity, but they remain two beds. Come back soon !

The apartment gave you the feeling of living in Paris. It was in a great area and close to the metro. There were plenty of restaurants and cafes near by and the supermarket and laundromat were very handy. As a solo traveler I felt safe here and it always gave me a feeling of being home after a long day of sightseeing. Merci to the Cobblestone team.

My BFF and I just spent a week at this charming apartment, and we fell in love with the neighborhood. The apartment is close to the Republique metro stop, which is a hub for several lines and was very convenient. The property management company was very easy to deal with and our personal greeter was very kind. I would book this apartment again in a heartbeat. We stayed at a hotel on our last night in Paris, and after a week at Studio Fontaine we were so dissapointed. Make no mistake, the apartment is small, but it is huge on character and well arranged.

I stayed in this studio apartment with my sister, and while obviously quite small, the two single beds were comfortable and the building secure. It was a fantastic location and neighbourhood, and the apartment met all of our needs and gave us a true Paris experience. The bathroom is very small though and I the unit did get a bit warm with the window closed, but if you can deal with that it is highly recommended! Would definitely stay here again.

The location of the apartment couldn't have been better -- I fell in love with the neighborhood! It was great to be able to do some cooking, relaxing, wine drinking in our apartment when we needed a break from sight seeing. Regina was a great host and we felt right at home immediately. This was a very nice studio apt that I and My daughter shared. Just a short walk from several metro stops and within walking distance for walkers of Notre Dame, Louvre, Bastille, and others. Greeter amy was very pleasant and thorough. The apt was clean and safe, with a bakery underneath and several nearby groceries. Even after just 3 days we were starting to feel maybe not Parisians yet, but French at least a little bit. Staying here gave us exposure to a neighborhood that staying in a hotel would have hidden from us. All through the reservation process Cobblestone properties was very business-like, helpful, and informative.

We had an amazing stay in Paris and much of it was made possible because of how affordable this rental was! The room was an efficiency but was just fine for two people, we barely spent any time in it anyway! It was clean, cozy, and quiet! We were able to see every museum and attraction on our list because we didn't have to pay the high cost of a hotel in Paris. Some of the best food we encountered was right below the room at the Italian restaurant (the little woman who worked in there barely spoke French herself!) and the bakery had amazing bread and Macaroons- you cannot find food like that in the states! We really enjoyed the Louvre, The Modern art Museum, and people watching on the side of the river with a bottle of wine and a baguette. The Parisians were great to us with our effort in speaking French and I highly recommend anyone visiting to make a very big attempt at doing the same, it makes a world of difference in how you are treated. Thank you for making our trip possible by giving us a very comfortable and affordable place to stay. Our first trip to Europe will be something we will talk about for years!

We loved our little apartment in Paris! Each morning we'd have croissants and coffee overlooking the little square. Great location, close to metro, and with a bus to the city center that runs right outside the door. Highly recommend exploring Bastille and Marais, and take a walk along the canal! This is a very small apt, the size of a budget hotel room, with everything you'll need. Trundle bed may be a problem for some older people, and cable didn't work. But the price is right!

My husband and I stayed in Studio La Fontaine for the last 5 nights of our European honeymoon (July 18-23). The apartment was perfect! Upon our arrival in Paris, an English speaking greeter let us into the apartment to hand over the keys and welcome us (this was a very nice touch as we have not had a greeter at other vacation rentals in the past). The apartment was nicely equipped with linens, soap, plates/glassware and cooking utensils (even cooking oil and spices), even a bottle of wine for us to enjoy. There was a booklet that had been thoughtfully put together, listing out extremely helpful information: restaurant recommendations, emergency numbers, nearest pharmacy, grocery store, metro station, and much more. We enjoyed pastries from the downstairs boulangerie for breakfast each morning - we would bring them upstairs and have our juice and pastries at the cute bistro table by the window overlooking the lively square. While studios in Paris are not large, we actually found the apartment and bed to be more comfortable than many of the hotels we stayed at earlier on the trip. To top it all off, the location was perfect - extremely close to several metro stations and waking distance to many of the attractions and neighborhoods that we wanted to visit. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely recommend Cobblestone Vacations to all of our friends & family!

My girlfriend and I spent the first week of June in this beautifly decorated studio. It has a great location--right arcross the street from a very cheap bike rental station, walking distance from anywhere you could want to go in paris, and very clean and comfortable. Ryan and Jenni are awesome managers, they were very quick to respond to any message I sent them and paid close attention to every detail. One of my favorite details of the stutio is a book with reccomendations written specifically for studio la fontaine. Their reccomendations were among my favorite experiences in Paris. This studio was easily the nicest place we stayed at on our 18 day trip to europe and definately made us feel like we were locals. I can't reccomend this experience enough.

The area was fantastic, loved having markets nearby, fresh croissants at our doorstep, great bars.
The kitchen was so well stocked with lots of little things it made it really easy for us to cook at home and prepare picnics.
The only thing that we weren't happy with was the fold out bed. It was in two pieces and made sleeping as a couple quite uncomfortable.

The apartment really is most comfortable for one single person, however couples looking for a budget accommodation usually have no problem with the setup and find it quite comfortable. It should be noted that the beds are separate.

I really enjoyed staying in this apartment; the location can't be beat, especially considering the two bicycles you get to use with the place. The neighborhood was interesting and beautiful. The place looks out over a cute little park surrounded by good grocery and dining options. I have very high cleanliness standards and the kitchen didn't live up to them (crumbs on counter, bad smell in the fridge), but that was the only room for improvement in my opinion. The free international phone calls were a huge perk for a business traveller like myself. Please note the place is very small, so people unaccustomed to that style of living may not be comfortable (bathroom in particular was miniscule), but for a single female from NYC it was ideal!

We must mention to future guests that cleanliness is a priority to us and if this guest had mentioned her complaints during her stay, we would have responded to them quickly to see that the kitchen was cleaned to her approval. We hope our future guests will see that this is an isolated incident and does not occur on a regular basis. Actually, the cleaning person that prepared this arrival no longer works for our company. We are so glad we came across the posting for Studio La Fontaine on Craigslist, what a gem ! Beautiful apartment, fantastic view, and great hospitality! We loved the fact that you provide for the guests in the littlest of ways; a bottle of (our favorite) wine, French themed books and DVD’s, even tea bags for a cup in the morning !
It was just the right size for two and so conveniently located. A visit to is a must and we had the BEST crepes there !
We are are both travelers and have a particular fondness for , and we think we’ve found the PERFECT place to stay when we come back. Next time we’ll come when its warmer and explore the city even more !
We will be recommending Studio La Fontaine to our loved ones, and you can expect to see us back here, sooner rather than later !

Hello Cobblestone & Paris Visitors !
We stayed at Studio La Fontaine and we just can't say enough great things about our experience! We were in Paris before and stayed at a hotel. We would never, ever stay at a hotel in Paris again after staying at the Studio!
The area is perfect - close to everything, yet tucked away from the touristy crowds/shops. From the patisserie next door, to "our" cafe down the street where you can get a fantastic coffee, we truly felt like we got to be Parisians.
Another HUGE bonus of this place was the Velib Bike Station right outside the flat ! We biked along the Seine, down to Ile St Louis, the Place des Vosges, the Luxembourg Gardens, Pere Lachaise Cemetery, up to Montmartre, etc. All were so close to the Studio ! Biking in the beautiful city was one of my best memories of the trip and we enjoyed visiting the open air markets to pick up fresh French foods before riding back to enjoy them in the Studio.
It was an added bonus to turn on one of the many Paris-themed DVDs in the studio as we were falling asleep each night.
It was also very nice to be able to call home a few times using the free international long distance the Studio provides, and to bring our laptop and keep up with emails using the free wireless.
The Studio truly has everything you could ever want for a fantastic, authentic experience of Paris. Ryan and Jennifer are extremely helpful and friendly, and will answer any questions you might have. We recommend it 100% and more! -

Just spent a very comfortable week at the Studio La Fontaine. This is my first expereince with renting an apartment and I was quite pleased with my lovely little pad in Paris. Small by Canadian standards but huge compared to the hotel room I had last time. I would highly recommend this for anyone planning a stay in Paris

The studio is located in a great neighbourhood and was very easy to find! There's a bakery right next door with wonderful croissants and baguettes for breakfast or if you want to pack a lunch. There are grocery stores everywhere and a market around the corner, where we bought macarons and took great pictures of fresh fish and fruit! The restaurant nearest is friendly and filled with locals and serves a fantastic brunch! The studio itself is in a clean, well-maintained building, it's only on the third floor and has an elevator which is not to be taken for granted in this city. The space is cozy, well-decorated and has everything you need from clean fluffy towels, travel books, movies to watch with a Paris theme!
There's an iron, bags to take to the market, and a kitchenette! It's a steal! It's close to the monument/square Republique, close to the metro and a walk away from the garment district where I got some great deals on clothes and jewelery! I felt very well taken care! There's a phone in the room and we were invited to call the nice person who welcomed us into the studio should we need anything at all. I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else.
