Rare in Paris, a house in a courtyard with garden. This elegant and spacious studio is on the ground floor with view on the zen garden. Peaceful and quiet, but close to all attractions of this beautiful city. There is a large well equipped kitchen: refrigerator, dish-washer, microwave oven, stove ; bathroom with shower and a washing machine; two twin beds and a couch; an office corner. Cable TV, Internet and telephone. Great for a couple or small family; for tourism or for a business trip.

Cinque giorni trascorsi in uno "studio" incantevole.Dotato di tutti comfort,in una zona tranquilla,a cinque minuti dalla stazione della metropolitana.La proprieteria è stata così gentile e premurosa da offrirci allo stesso prezzo concordato uno studio più grande.Non ho difetti da segnalare, e sicuramente quando tornerò a Parigi la Maisonzen sarà il luogo dove soggiornerò.

I received excellent service from Grazyna Perl. I enjoyed the freedom
of coming and going, cooking meals. The location is terrific 5 minutes
walk from 2 metro stations and perhaps 15 to another. Shops and market
close by. The transport close by was a great amenity. -

Maison Zen is a lovely place in Paris. The rooms were very nice, modern, clean and spacious. Great location, close to Metro and Gard de Lyon so moving around the city was very easy. If you like walking it's only 15 min walk to the Latin District. With the supermarket downstairs it was a pleasure to have your own breakfast at home. Safe neighbourhood and close to local French markets. Myslef and my two sisters loved it. I found it great value as most Paris hotels at that price are pretty ran down and dirty. I have already recommended it to friends and will visit again.

This place is not for the neophytes in Paris. It is not for those who travel to Paris for the first time. I tried to ask Ms. Perl for help 3 times when we stayed there and rented two studios for four nights. She never returned my calls. You are left on your own with a pamphlet that is supposed to explain everything but obviously it can't. How do you operate the washing machine or get an english speaking channel? How do you access the public transportation? There is no help from Ms. Perl when it comes to those departments and though they advertise the place to have an a/C, there is no such thing when you get there. What Ms. Perl has is a portable aircon, that is very noisy that you have to either endure the noise or open the windows and endure the bugs. For four nights stay she charged us Euros1,240 and did not make an adjustment even though there was no a/C in either studios (#4 & #2). She gave us a small fan only for the living room/kitchen area and none for the bedroom where is was so humid and warm under thick comforters (no flat sheet) and getting into the bathtub to take a shower was an ordeal for small persons and the elderly. Madame Perl couldn't be bothered by questions even when you first make your booking and could be stand-offish. One time she told my sister she would be back (after delivering the portable a/c) to bring us a better map but never showed up until we were ready to leave Paris. Do not book this place if you are a first timer in Paris although I have heard that the other landlady who also has rooms for rent in the same bldg. is a better person to deal with and takes better care of her renters. We came home with bug bites and a lot of disappointments for the time we spent trying to find our was around the city when Ms. Perl could have made things so easy for us with a few tips.

I already answered to your sister's complain explaining that it is mostly lots of misunderstanding. I didn't know that your family will need so much assistance. If I would know that I would recommend another place for you where you would have all the help you needed. I rent 4 furnished studios and am running it myself, therefore I can't fulfill certain demands. As for the AC; when I gave you one (sorry for it being a noisy thing) your sister told me that she is OK, so I understood she doesn't need one.
As for the price; you rented 2 flats for 6 people and the prices are clearly marked in all adds. Most guests find them fair, those who don't are renting elsewhere.
Much misunderstanding. Again, I'm sorry for your experiences and wish I directed you to another place.

Maison Zen is a special place to stay in Paris. It is run by an extremely friendly and courteous owner who goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable. The rooms are modern, clean and spacious. It is in a great location close to the Metro and major station (Gard de Lyon) which means links to the airport or just getting around Paris are easy. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

We really anjoyed our stay at MaizonZen. It was very central to the Metro, had a supermarket next door and was well equipped. Even though our stay was only 3 nights, we could have stayed for much longer as the kitchen provided a good stove, with oven, cutlery and crockery.
We did have to clean the floor when we arrived, as this had not been washed and had sticky spots on, but everything else was great and I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Paris.Response from Grazyna Perl - 03/01/2012

The accommodation was beautiful, it is a very peaceful setting despite being in the heart of Paris. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. We were very happy there with our one year old baby.

We have stayed at the Maison Zen three times so far, and we plan to return again. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is absolutely perfect, and Mme. Perl is the perfect hostess. We love everything about the Maison Zen.

to Maison Zen. I believe this is a special
place, for independent travelers, who don't
require alot of interaction but do require clean,
comfortable, quiet accommodations..nested
off rue Lyon, it is a Zen Center..No shoes or
smoking add to the appeal...go in peace. -

This is the second time I have stayed at Mme Perl's apartments, and it has been an excellent experience both stays. The apartments are spotless, and very comfortable...the location is one of the best to see Paris on foot. I highly recommend a visit.

Great chance to stay central, very friendly, quiete and in a beatiful atmosphäre. We loved it, me and my son (13), sleeped well, cooked our own meals (supermarket direkt beside)and went every evening alonge the Seine to Notre Dame, Marais or even to the Louvre. When we will come again we will ever stay again there.

MaisonZen is located in a large and quiet courtyard off the rue de Lyon, near the Bastille. The studio we rented was very well appointed with a full kitchen; it was very private and self-catering which I appreciated. It looked out onto a Japanese garden and was fully accessible being on the ground level. The staff was friendly and efficient.
