Nutmeg is a well appointed three bedroom townh...ouse at the beachfront Merlin Bay community on the West Coast of Barbados, surrounded by lush tropical landscaping. Nutmeg offers guests their own plunge pool as well as the use of the large central swimming pool and surrounding deck at Merlin Bay.

This two-storey home has an indoor dining room, a sunken sitting area that opens to the plunge pool and an intimate pool terrace. The bedroom on the ground floor also opens to the plunge pool terrace. Nutmeg also features an upstairs dining terrace which has an attractive hand painted mural and offers good ocean views across the central swimming pool.

Steps from the central coral stone deck lead down to a secluded white beach and the sparkling waters of the Caribbean Sea. Rates also include an efficient and friendly staff to cater to your every need.

Nutmeg is conveniently located just a short drive from Royal Westmoreland and Sandy Lane Hotel where 5-star golf, tennis and spa facilities are available.

  Overall we had a wonderful vacation at the Nutmeg. The location is perfect for a quiet family vacation. The staff were great and it was especially nice to come back home with no laundry to do. We had 6 dinners and lunches at the villa. The cook was conscious of the kids pickiness and prepared food to everyone's taste. The common area was clean and well kept - the pool never felt busy. We enjoyed the water sports at the beach - Abraham was great with the jet skis and found us Tony to rent a kayak. If we go back - we would rent the kayak for the week. The only disappointment was that we couldn't walk to the busier beach where there was a few beach bars - but we could kayak there. The beach was a bit rocky to get in for small children but good for snorkeling. All the catamarans would stop in front of our beach for snorkeling. Basically you could swim (long swim) to the turtles in front of Ramshackle. You can also walk to the fish market to pick up fresh fish for meals. - Natalie A., Quebec, Canada

  Our Stay at Nutmeg at Merlin Bay

  Villa was exactly as on web site, very nice. Everything worked: air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, grill, no problems whatsoever. There were even a cook and a made. One should have a car, although buses to surrounding towns and Bridgetown are quite frequent. I have not used LuxuryRetreats service while renting, and probably should have, as the car was not in top shape, although quite workable. Overall, highly pleasant experience, we are going to repeat it, and I recommend the villa and the service.
