This detached cottage is set in the village of Thorney, close to Peterborough and sleeps two people in one bedroom. Pixie Cottage is a detached cottage situated within the grounds of the owners' home, in the village of Thorney, close to the city of Peterborough. This cottage sleeps two people in one double bedroom. The cottage also has a ground floor bathroom, kitchen with dining area and a sitting area. Outside is a cottage garden with open summerhouse and furniture. Pixie Cottage is an ideal holiday home for a couple.

Amenities: Gas central heating. Gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, D...VD, selection of books. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Roadside parking. Shared enclosed garden with patio, open summerhouse and furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 5 mins walk. Note: This property accepts children aged 12 years and over only.

Region: Cambridge is a delight to visit in any season: relax in its many pubs, restaurants and cafes whilst exploring the shops around the historic market place. If you want to get up, out and about, you couldn’t have picked a better county to explore.

Town: The village of Thorney is situated between the city of Peterborough and the market town of Wisbech. The village offers a local heritage museum, tours of Thorney Abbey, a Victorian model village, a pub serving food, post office, chemist, village store and food outlets. The city of Peterborough boasts a number of shopping areas, the Embankment and Ferry Meadows Country Park. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods.   Well appointed Cosy Cottage

  My husband and I stayed at Pixie Cottage for a few days over Easter. The directions were clear to follow and although there was not allocated parking we had no trouble leaving our car.
  
  The cottage it's self is across the garden from the owners property, from the picture we thought they were attached. The cottage is accessed through the garden to the side down a makeshift path, this property is not suitable for disabled visitors as the ground is uneven and the sleeping accommodation is on the first floor.
  
  The cottage was very thoughtfully appointed with a well equipped kitchen. We both like to cook and we had no problems in the kitchen. The owner had left us some milk, tea/coffee wine and a lovely Easter egg (yum yum). There were enough cleaning products for us to clean up before we left.
  
  The TV was good with DVD, the bedroom was cosy with romantic hearts on the chimney. Only thing that was a shame was the water was not hot enough to have a bath and it would have benefited from an electric shower rather than the one connected to the bath taps, but this was a minor thing. There was zero phone signal which has it's up and downside we would have liked internet access.
  
  Thorney is a quiet village, with a pub a few minutes walk which did food at lunch and in the evening we ate there once, it was honest pub cooking nothing fancy. The abbey with is next to the cottage garden was nice but more like a large church but was open to have a look around. There was a Chinese? takeaway and a corner shop. We enjoyed looking at all of the classic cars in the garage which had a tea shop but we never saw that open.
  
  Not a lot around, we went in to Peterborough and Wisbech an enjoyable stay for a few days rest.
