Bishop's StortfordGreat, comfortable stay in well-equipped cottage
Left on 07/14/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We stayed in this cottage in Tintagel for two weeks in June this year (last holiday before baby number one comes along!). We wanted a really comfortable base for a relaxing holiday, and that is just what we got.
Firstly, the cottage itself was really great - thankfully very comfortable, cosy and ell-equipped so that when we were rained off we were more than happy staying in and reading the papers.
On arrival, everything was spotlessly clean and there was a very nice welcome pack of Cornish goodies - a nice and unexpected extra.
Secondly, the location was really good - just a few minutes' walk from Tintagel village centre, so even if it rains (which it may do this summer for sure!), you can still walk up to the village for a pint or a tea.
There was also ample parking provided at the cottage which was really helpful.
Tintagel village itself is pretty small, however there's a great cafe/restaurant called 'Charlie's' that we'd recommend - a really nice range of lighter dishes, good if you're bored of pub food, and they have lots of gluten-free options too.
Overall, we have a really great stay in the cottage and exploring the area.
Many thanks to Sandie and Nigel for a great stay and we hope other people enjoy it too. -

After arriving at the cottage we were met by Nigel and Sally. They are always friendly and ready to accomadate your needs.
The cottage as always was welcoming and excellently presented. Even when we had a problem they were prompt to fix it. Thank you. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
The area we stayed was lovely and within driving or walking distance to many attractions we loved to go to.
We look forward to staying here again and will be recommending it to others. -

Polkerr cottage was a fabulous place to stay for our week in Cornwall. Sandie and Nigel and their family were very welcoming, and we had everything we needed for the week. It is a great place to stay with young kids, as the garden is totally enclosed, so my little one could come and go between the cottage and garden as he liked, but was still safe. Tintagel was a lovely town, and everyone we met was so friendly. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Thanks for a very lovely stay!

From our initial search of property in Cornwall we came across Sandie and Polkerr cottage and were just impressed with the friendly and extremely helpful manner in which we were dealt.
The property was everything we hoped for and we were not disappointed in any aspect- the kitchen was well equipped, the living room/ dining room were great and the bedrooms were comfortable and then the BBQ and patio area was a bonus.
The location was superb, 30min walk to Trebarwith, 10mns to the castle-sublime

Excellent situation for Tintagel village, very convenient accommodation with comfortable beds, lounge. Close to cliffs for good scenery and walks, and short walk to village shops and attractions. Good off road parking facilities. Slight drawback having washing machine and freezer outside in garage but useful having those facilities nevertheless.

We were warmly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble during our stay, with plenty of information to help us get the most out of this beautiful coastline. The cottage was comfortable and homely with everything we needed, especially lovely comfortable beds. Tintagel has plenty of facilities, a great visitor centre and is a great base to explore the dramatic coastline. We were lucky to stay during the carnival week. Our favourite parts of the holiday were the coast path walks, sunset at Trebarwith Strand and watching Fisherman's Friends sing at Port Isaac. You need to pack a wetsuit for swimming and a waterproof just in case! The worst part of the holiday was not being able to fit everything in and having to go home. A great holiday we hope to repeat!

Pleasant, clean, comfortable, spacious and quiet.
All mod cons included.
Slightly tucked away behind main building to which it was semi-detached, with no outlook at all, but very near the coast so convenient for walking out.
I would stay there again if in the area. -

We took a week's break in Tintagel over New Year with our friends from Kent. We had a great time - Tintagel is a lovely little town. We were made very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Really great value accommodation and all the facilities you could want for a holiday break - lots of homely touches - we almost felt like it was home! Just a short stroll from all the local shops, pubs and restaurants.
