Auckland NZJust like the pictures! take the family and stay, you'll love it
Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Fabulous location!Just like the pictures, spacious tropical and the best view ever.Very tranquil location. Great set up, everything here you could possibly need altho more lights & insect screens would have made it even better.Just a walk across the road to get your supplies. If you are going to Rarotonga then stay beside the beach here.Swimming is wonderful, its a shame to get out, snorkelling is like being in the bottom of an aquarium(the sea slugs are everywhere tho so do wear your beach shoes). The outside shower was lovely to use morning, noon & night. We didn't need half of what we packed as its so nice, warm & relaxed.Go exploring around the inner roads to see the real island way of life. The fruit stands on the main road have cheap fresh fruit, bananas & pawpaw's taste much better than at home.Cafe Loco is next door & has the best service, food & drinks/coffees."Uncle Marks coconut milkshake" is served in a coconut, divine. If you have a milkshake they even bring you the rest of it from the blender so its not wasted, very addictive. Wigmores store across the road has a great takeaway attached to it & the store is great, it has pretty much everything you could need, wine/beer, meat, icecream, babyfood. Some prices are steeper than we are used to (Coke 1.25l $6.90) but are the same island wide. Raro car rentals were great, the air con in the car was lovely! go early to the markets for the good stuff-get in there to start looking before 8am or the tastiest pastries/breads are gone. Couldn't find any gluten free crackers or bread to buy island wide but Wigmores had gluten free pasta. Great place to relax and unwind.
The sand bar at Pacific Resort is great, luxurious setting with sand between your toes & cocktails right on the beach, a must do! We enjoyed being in Raro so much we were thrilled when our plane was delayed 3 hours at departure & we could duck back to the market on Saturday morning. Very child friendly place to stay. Thanks for having us, thanks Rarotonga!Response from Tony Heays - 03/21/2013

A group of five of us holidayed at absolute Beachfront for 2 weeks in late January / early Feb. The house had everything we needed, a well kitted-out kitchen, big rooms and a nice open, airy feel. The photos of the yard with beach access right onto the lagoon do not do it justice - it was simply stunning. It's right across the road from Wigmores which sells everything from fresh food, wine, ice cream and petrol + an aTM and bus stop. Next door is Coco Latte with great coffee, coconut milkshakes, bacon & eggs and friendly staff. A few hundred metres right along the beach is Vaima Bar and Restaurant where you can sit on the beach and have what we thought was the best food on the island - definitely try the pork belly! The snorkelling out the front and 200 metres left up the beach is some of the best on the island for fish spotting. And if it's raining there is a DVD rental store next to Vaima. The locals are all really friendly and helpful and you very quickly fall into the ebbs and flows of relaxed island living.
Tony and Sharon were both attentive and helpful giving us advice on things to do, places to see etc + Sharon dropped in with bananas from time to time. The only negative was being robbed by an opportunistic thief early in our stay so make sure you keep everything locked up in the safe and doors locked if you're coming and going between house, yard and beach. Tony dropped in the day after and installed some security cameras so hopefully it won't happen again. It certainly wouldn't stop us from coming back and I'd definitely recommend absolute Beachfront to anybody.Response from Tony Heays - 02/25/2013

New ZealandA Happy, Relaxed Family Holiday at aBV
Left on 02/21/2013 for a stay in January 2013
This property provided a great family holiday experience. Walk across the lawn and down the steps to the beach, take the kayak and paddle out across the water or use the snorkling equipment. The bus stops at the gate, the shop across the road is there for supplies and the house itself is well equiped. My teenagers were entertained, relaxed and happy and so were we.
Abv was easy to book, Tony was helpful and responded promptly. Both he Sharon called in (with prior notice) during our stay to make sure all was well. Certainly a property we would return to.Response from Tony Heays - 02/21/2013

ChristchurchBest holiday I've had
Left on 01/03/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We stayed at the absolute Beachfront Villa and Shack from 23rd to 30th December. The house was just awesome, had everything we needed to be self contained. And to be right on the beachfront was perfect. The snorkelling off this beach was as good as Muri (we did a snorkelling trip here). Beware the angry colourful fish..one likes to come right at you then duck away ha ha.
But seriously the house was perfect, being right across the road from Wigmores was fantastic. Cocolatte right next door for your coffee fix, plus they do amazing slices. Vaima bar down the road for a $5 local beer.
We are planning on coming back and I can see why people go to Raro every year, the people are friendly and love to help out, it's very safe and it's sooo relaxing.
Thanks to Tony and Sharon, you guys rock!!Response from Tony Heays - 01/03/2013

I can definitely recommend this place. The house is lovely. We only had 3 people staying but it could easily accommodate up to 7 poeple comfortably! the house had everything you would want or need if you wanted to cook for yourself, including Wigmores market across the road for convenient shopping, or it's close to a number of resturants if you feel like eating out. there's a cafe right next door for great coffee, food and service! And on top of it all there's the beach right outside the back door! honestly, at high tide the water is maybe 5m from the back door! great for snorkelling - and no need to hire or bring your owm - it's all provided!! comfortable beds. good times! We recieved great service from Tony, and he was easily reached by phone if we had any queries. I would totally recommend!!

Dealing with Tony made everything easy. He was prompt in replying to questions. The house was great. It had everything we needed and felt easy to live in, with lots of us there it was easy to keep clean and tidy and had plenty of room for our whole family. We found being across the road from Wigmores was awesome because we could pick up bits and pieces as we needed them.
We enjoyed the laid back feel of the place where we could unwind and relax. Rarotonga is a beautiful place and where the house is and the access to the beach on the back door step is out of this world.Response from Tony Heays - 10/18/2012

Booked via net for large family group coming across to Rarotonga for our daughter's wedding - great location, great facilities - absolutely loved the place as soon as we saw it - a comfortable home away from home which met both groups of families requirements. Supermarket across the road, with the best ever icecreams, Coco Latte cafe & Vaima restaurant close by too. Fantastic beach right on our doorstep, along with the provided kayak & snorkelling gear & the snorkelling was amazing too, with the clearest of water... Would thoroughly recomend this property to anyone & already have... Many thanks to Tony & Sharon for your helpfulness thoroughout our stay - was much appreciated by all!!

Absolute beachfront! Perfect location - beautiful beach, good for swimming, snorkeling (all gear provided, take some bread with you!) kayaking (also provided), walking, sunbathing and daydreaming! Opposite 'Wigmores supermarket' so perfect for stocking up on supplies, right next to a great cafe for your coffee hit and good restaurants walk-able (or bus stop right outside). Set back from the road, its quiet (noise was a problem I experiences staying elsewhere first). The house is very comfortable and well designed, it has everything you could need and enough areas to 'escape' if you need too -perfect for a group of friends - there was 5 of us, or couples or families or a a mix of all! Friendly and professional service. Couldn't recommend enough, will be back!!!

We very much enjoyed the time at absolute Beachfront Villa. We only got there by chance and it turned out to be the perfect spot for our family. Tony the manager was very helpful and made sure we were happy and comfortable with our stay. Our 2,5 year old loved to play in the garden which was huge and absolutely safe to play around. The beach is just a few steps down from the lawn and we had the feeling to have our own private beach. Snorkeling gear and a kayak was provided and we had so much fun to just cruise around in the water. The house itself was very clean, spacious and bright. There is also a sheltered sitting area in front of the house which allows to sit outside on a windy day. Overall the perfect location to have an excellent time.

We found the absolute Beachfront holiday home to meet our needs very well. Tony kept in touch via email and responded to my questions very quickly. The house was spacious and a great base for our extended family (who were staying all over Rarotonga) to meet for barbeques etc. The lounge/dining area was a good size. We enjoyed the easy beach access and the kids had a ball snorkelling and using the kayak. Wigmores store across the road was a good source of fresh and convenience food. The CocoLatte cafe just next door was great for coffee and delicous cakes and slices.
The house was well equipped with towels and other linen. The kids enjoyed watching the resident wee lizard who popped out each evening.
Our parents stayed in "The shack" which was basic, but clean and had everything they needed to give them some space from the house and kids if needed.Response from Tony Heays - 08/24/2012

We had this lovely dream in our heads of what the holiday would be like...and it turned out even better! It's so relaxing not to have to dress up for meals and go to a restaurant. We just drifted from eating to snorkelling to reading to eating and then sleeping. In no particular order. Impressed by the range of fish and other wildlife in the lagoon, which is just off the lawn. Highlights include several morays, a sea snake and something very exotic in blue, yellow and black that we named a 'ninja fish'. We'll be doing this again, for certain.

We really liked absolute Beachfront Villa. It's in a wonderful location along a white sand beach and protected reef that has plentiful snorkeling. It's also across the street from a Wigmore's, which is convenient for grocery shopping and evening ice cream. We slept five comfortably in the house. My only complaint is that the people staying next door were very loud most evenings. Other than that I would go back again and highly recommend the villa.

Our family of seven adults had a wonderful stay at absolute Beachfront Villa in august 2011. We found that the house accommodated two couples and three singles admirably and the large family style kitchen made it easy to have lots of people helping with meals, dishes, etc. The convenience of Wigmore's Store, across the road, also contributed to the easy living conditions. The beach and swimming/snorkelling/kayaking on the doorstep were particularly memorable. It's an ideal place for a family holiday in New Zealand's winter.

Stayed 7 nights with four teenagers . House was better than it appeared in photos on the net. Spotlessly clean and spacious. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of towels. All snorkeling equipment, including a wide selection of reef shoes and kayak. All you needed to enjoy the clear lagoon, a dozen steps from your back door. We entertained family on two occasions and the covered deck was a godsend,as it rained both nights. The barbeque was an added bonus, however there was no scraper (bbq tool). Tony came to check on us twice and called once to make sure we were happy and comfortable. Great communication prior to our arrival. Wigmores Superstore directly across the road for the biggest icecreams I have ever seen (for $2) and any provisions you need. Cafe and Internet cafe next door. House has Wi-fi if you must keep up with your social networking. (Came in handy with 4 teenagers!) Two of the teenagers stayed in The Shack, which was also clean and comfortable. Thank you for the bananas Sharon. We had a hire car, but the local bus stops right outside. Best holiday we have had for ages. We will definitely be back.

This place was great from all aspects. "Lots of space" in the house and cottage which was perfect as we were 2 families with children staying here all together. Excellent private outside areas both out front and out back by the beach. The shop across the road is handy too. Really great spot for snorkeling, one of the best. We left all our boat shoes so by now there should be a "fab" selection to choose from!. We look forward to returning as soon as we save up our pennies again!! :-)). Thanks Tony

We had a fantastic holiday at the 'Absolute beachfront villa'! We were looking for a good spot to have young kids and this was great. Having the garden and then steps down to the beach meant we felt safe with our toddler and we were happy that the garden was fenced from the road too. The villa was comfortable but homely, excellent sized kitchen as we love to cook and had taken lots of supplies and used the excellent local produce and fish -having Wigmores store across the road was very useful, and great for donut supplies. Tony even purchased us a cake tin when we requested one (yes we bake on holiday!). The beach was gorgeous and not too busy, stunning snorkling too. If you want a comfortable beach house for a young family then this is perfect. We'll be back!

I highly reccommend the absolute Beachfront Villa. 5 of us girls stayed here for 5 days for a 40th birthday. We arrived to a clean, spacious well appointed holiday home. We wanted for nothing. The kitchen had everything you could need. Even a coffee plunger. Snorkel gear, reef shoes & kayaks were great to have available. One kayak did fill with water after half an hour or so. Hopefully they fix this as it was heavy to empty water out of to take back to house. We forgot to mention it to the manager. Having a washing machine & carport to hang clothes etc under was also very handy. Manager Tony was helpful, down to earth & friendly. Everything was as we expected or better. Perfect beach for swimming, snorkeling & kayaking. Maybe just check what size the reef shoes they have as you kind of do need them out in the water if you don't plan on wearing flippers as there is a bit of coral around you don't want to cut your feet on. I think they had 2 pairs of reef shoes & may not fit some people. Maybe take your own. It was also lovely to find fresh fruit (paw paw, coconut, oranges) waiting for us as well as some juice & milk in the fridge. The villa is directly opposite Wigmores Superstore which has a vast selection of groceries, alcohol, yummy fresh fish & chips as well as petrol. Even thought the villa is opposite the store it is behind a fence & a cottage so is very quiet & private from the road & store. Beds & pillows were very comfortable except 1 of the 3 single beds was sagging & very uncomfortable. The other 2 single beds & 2 queen beds were great. Plenty of linen, crockery & all other bits you would want eg tv, radio, tourist brochures, fans etc etc.Overall could not find fault with anything except the orange kayak & middle single bed. Highly reccommend to groups or families.
