TorontoMore than we'd hoped for
Left on 01/03/2013 for a stay in December 2012
Loon Lodge delivers more than it promises. It's a huge cottage with plenty of space for the family to come together or do their own thing in the different areas. It's snug and warm in the winter, and while it's in a very quiet area the roads are plowed frequently. The proprietors were very helpful and proactively ensured we had all the information we needed to make our stay everything we'd hoped for. This is a great place for a large family to vacation. -

Left on 10/30/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We had a great stay at Loon Lodge on Miller Lake! The cottage is very clean, well laid out for indoor and outdoor activities and had all the amenities any group would need. Considering the extremely reasonable price, I think this was one of the most high-value vacations I've had.
The owners were very helpful and easy to deal with which made the renting experience very much stress free. -

The lodge was ready at the appointed time and filled the needs for ten people excellently.
The huge sitting room and its big windows with the pine decor made one sit their all day.
The verandah and its many chairs made it the outdoor experience in the sun.
Good sized bass off the dock, wow. -

Loon Lodge has a beautiful by the lake setting and is close to Bruce Peninsula National Park as well as Fathom Five National Marine Park. This is our second stay at the cottage and we are looking forward to many more returns!
We love the home feel of the cottage and it's large windows facing the lake. We always try to eat dinner outside on the balcony to catch more views of the lake and surroundings.
Canoeing Miller Lake in early morning always gives us the best sunrise views; late evening has spectacular sunsets! We were all excited for the night sky when we got to see the Milky Way. Big and Little Dipper, Polaris and Cassiopeia constellations can be spotted with the naked eye.

ChathamSublime, relaxing getaway
Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Absolutely loved staying at Loon Lodge. Wonderful waking up to the sun streaming through the windows, but also lovely on a rainy day with the full front lake view. I have never had such a relaxing holiday. We have a fairly large boat and we were able to dock it right at the Lodge, so it made boating very accessible. Lots of room, great kitchen and great outdoor furniture too. Loved having use of the canoe and found a great place for our hammock by the edge of the lake. Highly recommend it.

This is an excellent cottage worth returning to. Very clean, modern and comfortable. The photographs of the cottage and view accurately represent the property. Great internet reception.
This cottage far exceeds the quality of another cottage I stayed at south of algonquin Park.
Would return again. -

Left on 09/19/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Our lives are crazy and we needed time to spend with our two small children to relax and enjoy some time together. The cottage was perfect for our family. The kids loved everything about the cottage, the firepit, canoe and location to the beaches! My husband and I were able to relax the minute we got to the cottage. It was so clean and inviting when we arrived, it felt like it was our own. Having a dishwasher and washer/dryer with the two kids, made everything so easy!!
The kids can't wait until we get to go back to the cottage again. We are hoping to book some time in the winter as well as another week next summer.
Thanks for helping to make our family vacation such a success.

Left on 09/03/2010 for a stay in August 2010
This was a fun yet relaxing vacation. The cottage location is perfect, private from neighbours, close to water and yet a large enough yard for the kids to play when they are tired of swimming. The cottage itself is very comfortable and spacious for those rainy or lazy days. The lake is beautiful. Waking up to the Loons was one of the best experiences. Great vacation!

Left on 08/03/2010 for a stay in July 2010
First experience in the Canadian cottage industry - Loon Lodge far exceeded our expectations - gorgeous location in the 'wilderness' but w/ all the modern comforts.
Fantastic family getaway - absolutely worth the drive up from Toronto.
Kids loved being on the lake and fishing on demand, playing ball in the backyard & roasting marshmallows on the campfire & overdosing on s'mores. Rainy days - cable tv kept them occupied.
A home away from home w/ all the facilities & comforts - perfect to stay in & relax/read w/ the gorgeous lake view or drive to all the nearby sights - our favourite was The Grotto, Flowerpot Island & Tobermory.
One of the most relaxing & enjoyable family holidays we've had. -

Left on 07/27/2010 for a stay in June 2010
The cottage had a beautiful view of Miller Lake. It has a neat wrap around deck that had a clear see-through railing for a great view of the lake. We went in the canoe on the lake and saw an otter swimming in the water, near the other side of the lake. The location is very nice, quiet and peaceful. There was a lot to do just at the cottage- swimming, canoeing, enjoying the view of the lake. They had cards and other games near the fireplace mantel that we played in the evening time. Everything inside the cottage was new, clean and in excellent condition. The architecture of the cottage was really neat with the beams and vaulted ceilings. Heather the cottage owner was very nice in my communications with her. She sent me a map of the area in the mail and also emailed a very good detailed list of things to do in the area. Also, inside the cottage they had lots of current, informational brochures of activities and things to do in the area.
For the week we were there we relaxed at the cottage and also drove to the nearby beach of singing sands that had very shallow water for the kids, saw fireworks for Canada Day in Tobermory and did a lot of hiking in Bruce Peninsula National Park. The Grotto is a cave that was about a half hour hike from the parking lot of the park. The kids went down the side of the cliff to get inside the cave and swam in the water. It was really neat inside the cave. We also stopped at a local farm/garden in the area and saw many different vegetable plants and flowers. When we were leaving there we saw a black bear cub walking near the side of the road. It was really cute and the kids were very excited to have seen a real bear in the wild. In Tobermory we went on a glass bottom boat tour and saw a couple of shipwrecks that the boat goes over the top of. The cottage was a great location because it was easy to get to all of these activities from there and there are so many outdoors, adventure and nature activities to do in the area.

We stayed at Loon Lodge for a weekend in June. The lodge is undoubtedly the best cottage I have ever rented, and I have rented quite a few. It was very clean and well built, with great windows that open to a magnificent view of the Miller Lake. The deck, practically over the lake, is a great place to relax or have breakfast. The amenities are great, the owners Heather and Paul are very friendly, and the location of the lodge is great for visiting the beautiful Tobermory area.

Just a fantastic view. There's nothing quite like sitting on a deck overlooking the water. The cottage is beautiful - all new, all the amenities, spacious and windows everywhere to overlook the lake.
The owners even went to the trouble of adding a couple of loons to the lake. It was nice sitting on the deck listening to them calling to each other.
Highly, highly recommend. A great peaceful getaway. -

Left on 05/05/2010 for a stay in May 2010
Stayed at Loon Lodge on Miller Lake and found it to be fantastic. The location is excellent as the lodge is just metres from the water with a wall full of windows. Upper storey deck was also great to eat at, drink and hear the loons in the evening.
The whole place has been redone in pine and smells of fresh wood. It is very clean with a great kitchen and new bathrooms. We didn't use the indoor fire place but put the fire pit at water's edge to good use. Would recommend it in a heartbeat.
