Description from the manager

Cottage Profile This is a two bedroom cottage with a sleep cabin, located on Hay Bay on the shores of Lake Huron. 700 square feet of living area makes this cottage the perfect place for spending quality time together with loved ones. This cottage is conveniently located just three kilometers from Tobermory. Located on a dead end road, this cottage offers a tranquil setting. The main living area of the cottage is an open concept with the dining room, kitchen and living room in one large open space. Finished in pine tongue and groove it provides that "cottage" feel. We had a great stay at this cottage. It is well equipped with everything one needs to relax and enjoy Tobermory. I especially like that it is air-conditioned. It is in a very quiet location, just walking distance from downtown Tobermory.

      Overall satisfying

Left on 09/20/2012 for a stay in July 2012

My first impression when I entered the cottage was that it was indeed cosy. This was our first time renting/living in a cottage. I was really impressed how meticulously all the instructions were written on yellow stickies and placed where they belonged.
The kayaks were a good outdoor activity for us. And my 8 year old daughter was glued to the TV. The cottage also had a fairly good collection of books and Dvds. We even watched one of the movies from the collection.
The cottage was well equipped with dishes though we had carried our own.
It was located very close to the main market so we went to the main market everyday day. It was verry convenient since we stayed for a week and were cooking in the cottage most of the times.
The only thing that I feel could be improved is the shower area. The shower area was too small and was inconvenient especially when we came back with all sand from the beach - it was difficult to wash off all the sand in that small shower area. We also felt that a washing machine would have come in handy.
Other than that everything else was just fine.

Clean, comfortable, good location but disappointed with shorelin

Left on 09/15/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Upon our arrival, we were quite pleased with the landscaping and the cleanliness and quaintness of the cottage. This location was superb because of its close proximity to all the important amenities in Tobermory (all the boutiques and restaurants downtown Tobermory, the Bruce Peninsula day park, the tourist information building where there is free parking all day long, the glass bottom boat tour operation, kayak rentals and much more). My husband would walk to town a few mornings to enjoy a fresh brewed cup of coffee from many of the local diners (3 km one way or could easily be biked). The only negative feedback was the fact that there was no drinkable water so you had to bring your own and the shoreline was swampy and muddy. Also, when we rented during the last week in July, the water levels were quite low. Because of this situation, the water that was pumped into the cottage was smelling of swamp and discolored. It was not pleasant to shower in. Lastly, a few of the appliances were outdated or not functioning properly and needed to be changed. If the water problem were to be rectified and a few of the appliances were to be replaced we would consider returning to this location.

Lovely Stay at Cute and Cozy Cottage

Left on 11/06/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Very nice stay at the cute and cozy cottage. Cottage was spotless when we arrived. We requested and paid for linens and cleaning afterward. The water view in is gorgeous and we were able to use the kayaks right off of the back of the house - really convenient and great time. Photos are accurate, very comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked. Lovely landscaping. So close to town, which was very important to us.

Only minor complaints - bedrooms are tiny (smaller than we expected) so luggage had to sit outside. Bathroom - shower door didn't close properly. Toilet worked a bit slowly and actually got clogged once (we unclogged). Shower dripped unevenly until my mom unscrewed it and cleaned inside and it worked much better. And right outside the side door its a little unsafe, someone could step backward unawares from the deck to the ground and could get hurt. We were told aC was central (we assumed Hvac), but it is a large unit in the living room. Didn't need it at all, so not a big deal.

Overall, like I said minor stuff. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back if visiting the area again.
