Cottage Profile Conveniently located 3 bedroom, 1000 sq ft waterfront cottage within walking distance to all the activities that Tobermory has to offer. This cottage is one of the original fisherman's cottages built around the harbour in the 1930's. The road side of the cottage has a large eat in kitchen with fridge, stove and microwave oven. The eating area of the kitchen has plenty of windows to let in natural light and has a large table with bench seats to sit six comfortably. Outside the kitchen is a patio with picnic table and gas barbeque. This area is shaded in the afternoon and it a good place to find solice out of the sun. Adjacent t...o the kitchen is the large living room with a large stone fireplace, two couches, TV with satellite service, a comfortable seat and a large window letting in natural light. The cottage has a three piece bath with shower and three bedrooms. One with a king bed, second with a queen bed and the third with a double. The bedroom containing the king bed is a very large bedroom facing the lake with a series of glass windows providing a nice view of the harbour and Lake Huron. In this bedroom is a table and chair to sit six comfortably and a door leading outside. The cottage lot is sloping at the back and gradually levels out at the lake. The cottage is surrounded by grass and would be a nice place for young children to play. Beyond the grassy yard is an area of float rock leading into the lake. This area has a small portable wood burning fire pit for your enjoyment. Entry into the lake is shallow with mostly flat rock as with all properties with a rocky shoreline we recommend you ware water shoes when swimming in the lake. The cottage has a nice view of Tobermory Harbour. Enjoy the sights and sounds of Little Tub Harbour from the shoreline sitting area. Watch the Chi Cheemaun ferry shuttle passengers back and forth form Manitoulin Island. And enjoy sunsets over Lake Huron. The cottage is located a short distance from downtown Tobermory (1 km). Follow the harbour boardwalk to the village with its shops, restaurants, fishing and ferry's boats to Flower Pot Island. For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the area is a dream. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this rustic cottage. It was clean and everything but the hair dyer worked. That was ok because I didn't plan on doing anything to my hair for 2 weeks. :) The privacy was good considering we had cottages on both sides (no one was there for most of the time and when they were they seem to be polite but kept to themselves). The view of the harbour was nice and we enjoyed watching the boats, ducks and the Chi Cheemaun Ferry. The cottage did have one problem (didn't interfere with our stay) there was a leak under a floorboard in the bathroom, which made it sound a bit squishy. It was just lovely and it wasn't so fancy that we were worried every minute about the furniture or this or that...a true summer cottage - that could sleep 6. Rustic. If you are very picky about stuff this place is not for you. But we loved it...! Just fix that leak!
This was the perfect place for us

We found this cottage to be just as described. It was absolutely perfect for our stay in Tobermory. It is a little old, but it was clean, quaint, cozy and had everything we needed. Restaurants and a grocery store were within a comfortable 10-minute walk. The rental staff was very friendly, helpful, professional and prompt. Honestly, we considered ourselves lucky to have come across this property on the internet. No complaints at all!!

Rather dark and not very inviting

This cottage has a good sized kitchen and living room, but the waterside is not good for swimming or even wading. The best view is from the front room which serves as a bedroom - but it has a table, so it's hard for whoever wants to sleep there (Not a private space at all. The other 2 bedrooms are very small with no view whatsoever. There is no covered porch outside so if you smoke, and it's raining, bring an umbrella. All in all, not really worth the money.
