Cottage Profile Spacious, four storey, Cape Cod style, executive cottage located in beautiful Big Tub Harbour within walking distance to all the conveniences of Tobermory. With 2600 square feet, this is a home away from home and a luxurious base from which to explore all that the Tobermory area has to offer. The open concept of the main living area of the cottage features 30 foot cathedral ceilings, large windows overlooking Big Tub Harbour, and beautiful hardwood floors. This open area includes the kitchen, dining room, and a sitting room and is the communal space for everyone in your group to gather. The kitchen features all the convenience...s of home including fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and even a dual zone wine fridge. The breakfast bar counter space provides extra room for prep as well as a view of Big Tub while preparing your meal. The stools around the breakfast bar are the perfect place for a quick snack. A leather couch and two wing chairs in the seating area provides a space to relax while still visiting with the chef in the family, or to read without the distraction of a television. The dining area has a dining table to comfortably seat all ten people in the party and in this area is a set of doors that access the deck with cushioned seating and a stainless steel bbq. The view of the water, clear deck glass, and comfortable seating creates the ideal setting for a morning coffee or evening cocktail. Sit and watch the boats moving in and out of the harbour while reading a book or watching the colors of the sunset. This covered deck area is also a great place to get out of the sun or keep the rain off of you. Also on the main living level is a den with a 42", flat screen, LCD television. The hardwood floors finish the look of this room, and a couch and two chairs provide comfortable seating to relax and enjoy some television on a rainy day. The bathroom on the main living level is a three piece with walk in shower. Three bedrooms are on the lower level of the cottage. The master bedroom features a King sized bed, a large ensuite three piece bathroom with walk-in shower, and french doors lead to a deck that overlooks Big Tub Harbour. Bedrooms two and three are both spacious and have queen sized beds. There is a second bathroom on the lower level of the cottage, this one a four piece with both shower and bathtub. The fourth bedroom is located on the third storey of the cottage. This is the perfect place for the children in your party. A loft area overlooks the main living level and a table with chairs presents the perfect place for cards, board games and puzzles. A fourth bathroom with a toilet and sink is very handy. This loft space is designed with kids in mind, and will be a big hit with the children in your group. From the loft area, there is a set of stairs that accesses the widows walk. With a wall of windows on all four sides of the room, the view from this room is truly breathtaking. A telescope in this rooms aids the view of all of Big Tub as well as some of the off shore islands of the Fathom Five National Marine Park. While it is a great idea for children to take in this view, it should be under adult supervision so that renters that come in after you are able to enjoy it as well. Another deck down by the water with loungers and patio seats provides front row seating to Big Tub Harbour. This is a great place to watch the boats moving in and out of the harbour, or to watch the swimmers in the party enjoy the clear water. Big Tub Harbour is a beautiful deep water harbour popular for scuba diving and snorkeling, Two shipwrecks are within 100 metres of the front of the cottage. Bring your mask, snorkel and flippers to explore the wrecks. The cottage is located only 1 km from the scenic Village of Tobermory where you can stroll through the shops in the village, visit the library, restaurants and the beautiful natural harbour, or take a scenic boat cruise where you view shipwrecks, lighthouses and visit Flowerpot Island. Also, dinner cruises aboard the Chi-Cheemaun are very popular. For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the area is a dream. A 10 minute drive away, guided tours are available along the Niagara Escarpment, or along the sandy shores of Singing Sands on Lake Huron. Amphitheater programs are available at Cyprus Lake at dusk and are informative and entertaining. OWNER WILL HAVE SAILBOAT DOCKED AT DOCK AND WILL BE USING THROUGH THE WEEK.   Stupendous place

  Here is a cottage with a beautiful view, lots of light, all the fixtures and
  amenities requred and a great decor. It is perfectly located to enjoy both
  the quiet one would want at a cottage and the convenience of the village
  nearby.
  Once the issues with water pressure and flow are fixed, I would want to
  come back over and over.
  
  PS: A dream would be to have the cottage equipped with 2 canoes and 2
  kayaks to allow easy and regular access to the lake. Insurance
  companies may disagree unfortunately.

  AMAZING weekend BEAUTIFUL cottage

  a couple of family members and friends heading up to cottage #491 in big tub harbour on thursday June 11th 2009. We have all stayed in some other cottages in tobermory before but nothing could compare to this amazing cottage. Beautifully decorated in a nautical theme, this cottage offered itself to us as a home for three nights. the huge deck casts a breath taking view of big tub habour and a great social gathering spot. Every bedroom was large and very creativly decorated. The cottage was warm and welcoming as were the neighbours. we were only a couple minutes walk from the heart of tobermory and the main harbour. We all had such a great time up there that we will definitly book this cottage again.
  thanks for a great trip to tobermory and for making our vacation just that much more special.

  An amazing place

  A very wonderful place and a great location. With the cottage close to the national park and other great facilities we were able to greatly enjoy our time. Without even leaving the cottage there was so much to do. We spent most of the time by the dock enjoying the breathtaking view. It was a very relaxing place to be.

  This was a beautiful, brand-new cottage with all the conveniences of home and more. The guys were thrilled with the huge gas BBQ.
  The waterfront location was wonderful. Definitely a place that we would recommend and to which we would love to return.

  Enjoyed our stay

  Stayed at this property with two families. Really enjoyed the stay. We would certainly go back.
  
  Pros: Nice views, close to downtown, water out the back door, extremely nice house.. very comfortable. Did not have any insect problems (but had issues with insects at other area beaches during the week). Biked around the point to the lighthouse. Walked downtown. Hiked in the parks south of town. Rented a kayak and paddled out of the bay to the nearby islands. Most islands are off limits (you can't land and walk on them), but very pretty to paddle around.
  
  Cons: No beach. There is a dock. There were ferries taking tourists to a wreck in the harbor, but this did not really bother us. We have children who were very focused on swimming. They swam off the dock. This worked well. But- the father-in-law of the owners indicated that he planned to keep his boat moored at the pier next summer... so swimming might not be possible and the boat would block views of the water. If swimming or water access is important, discuss this with the owners before renting. Finally, there are no fish (none at all ... really). For some strange reason the population of fish throughout the area has completely collapsed. It is useless fishing off the dock or at other sites around town. If fishing is important, double check my facts and see if the situation has changed.
