Cottage Profile Blue Water Horizon is lovely 3 story, 5 bedroom (including the rec room), 3 bathroom Western cedar & pine cottage located on the shores of Lake Huron only 13 km from the scenic fishing village of Tobermory. The main floor (second story) of the cottage has an open concept kitchen, dining and living room. The entire front of the cottage has large windows and sliding glass doors providing a panoramic view of Lake Huron. The spacious living area has a beautiful stone, floor to ceiling fireplace with an electric insert, sofa, love seat, and two comfortable chairs. Lights & tables compliment the decor. A 40" flat screen television (... satellite ) and DVD are located here. The dining room has a wooden harvest table that can accommodate 8 people with a beautiful view of the lake. You can exit the dining area to the newly expanded lake side deck complete with deck glass to provide an unobstructed view of the lake. The deck extends completely around the main level of the cottage. Here you will find loungers, a gas barbeque and two patio sets, one overlooking the lake & one on the back for morning sun The kitchen has a stove, fridge, microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher and many dishes, plates, glasses, cutlery, etc. Beside the kitchen is laundry room with washing machine & dryer with easy access to the back deck. On this main level you will find a bathroom with a toilet, sink & shower, as well as a bedroom with a queen size bed. On the 3rd floor, the large master bedroom contains a queen size bed, 2 piece en suite and a fireplace with electric insert. The sitting area in front of the fireplace contains a 27" flat screen TV ( satellite ) with DVD, 2 lazy boy chairs, and a sofa with a coffee maker and table. You will enjoy the walkout to your own 8' x 16" private covered deck overlooking Lake Huron while you sip your coffee at the bistro patio set for two. There are 2 more bedrooms on this floor. One bedroom has a queen bed; the other contains a double plus a single bed. All 3 bedrooms upstairs have pitched ceilings with many windows. The bathroom on this floor contains a toilet, sink & claw foot bath tub and en suite. The ground level contains a 5th bedroom with a love seat, 2 single beds, games, puzzles, books & toys. This room has a sliding glass door walkout to the lake. A really nice feature of this cottage is the large lake side patio deck with an unobstructed panoramic view of the lake. Relax on one of the many Muskoka chairs while watching the kids play on the beach. The shoreline of the cottage consists of flat limestone rock with a shallow entry into the lake. (swim shoes are recommended) The cottage is located directly in front of a small shallow cove with a series of small islands which provide a beautiful setting and great place for the kids to play. The cottage is located near the end of a dead end paved road. The lands on the opposite side of the road form part of Bruce Peninsula National Park. This is a great area for bird watching and quiet walks. The scenic Village of Tobermory is located 13 km away. Take a trip into town and stroll through the shops in the village, visit the library, restaurants and the beautiful natural harbour, or take a scenic boat cruise where you can view shipwrecks, lighthouses and visit Flowerpot Island. Dinner cruises aboard the Chi-Cheemaun are also very popular. For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the area is a dream come true. Guided tours along the Niagara Escarpment, or the sandy shores of Singing Sands on Lake Huron are available a 10 minute drive away.

  This bright, spacious cottage exceeded our expectations! The pride in ownership is apparent throughout along with comfortable beds, quality deck furniture and a large spotless fridge. Very clean, private, quiet, gorgeous waterfront views and being able to hear the water while sleeping was awesome! Thank you to the owners for allowing this cottage to be rented...we will definitely be returning!

  The house is gorgeous. It had plenty of room for us to spread out when we needed to. The kitchen is a bit awkward with the dishwasher blocking the passageway. But that's minor. Really, a wonderful time.

  Great Cottage, Beautiful View

  My new husband and I stayed at the Blue Water Horizon for our honeymoon. It was exactly as we could have imagined, but better! The cottage was lovely, provides excellent privacy and plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. The master bedroom is amazing as is the private balcony off the master bedroom. We enjoyed watching the sunset with our feet in the water and watching for shooting stars as the night rolled in. On rainy evenings, it was nice to snuggle and watch a movie in the master bedroom. The location of the cottage is perfect - 10 minute drive from Tobermory, 10 minute drive from Singing Sands beach, 10 minute drive to the Bruce Trail. The Bruce Peninsula is absolutely gorgeous and just to sit and relax, looking out from the deck of this cottage was pure bliss. We would definitely come back - next time we'll share the experience with friends and family.

  Beautiful Location BUT professional cleaning needed

  Our family was delighted with the beautiful Lake Huron location...the woods surrounding the cottage...the breathtaking sunsets...the wrap around deck...the absolute quiet...etc.etc.etc.
  
  BUT...we were very shocked and disappointed at our arrival to find the cottage had not been cleaned after the previous renters...our children and grandchild were expected to arrive that evening so my husband and I rolled up our sleeves and scrubbed and scoured 3 bathroom sinks,toilets,and counters....1 kitchen sink, stove,fridge and counter...1 deck barbeque...approx 5 hrs work...not what we expected on our first day of vacation....

  The 10 days we spent at Blue Horizon, had to be the only 10 nice consecutive days of the entire summer.
  The cottage afforded each of us (3) privacy and/or socializing that we so look forward to.
  We were lacking for nothing EXCEPT good lighting for reading.
  We particularly enjoyed swimming every day (the first time in 7 yrs), and the easy water access, the spacious decks both water and around the cottage. We even enjoyed deadheading the geraniums, as 2 of us are avid gardeners.
  We would surely recommend this cottage and would come back another year.

  Stunning views

  We stayed at this beautiful cottage at the end of the summer, and it was absolutely a great place to relax. Upon entering the cottage, you are met with one of the most spectacular views of the water. The wooden interior and fireplace created a cozy atmosphere and took the chill from the evening or morning air.
  
  We enjoyed the fact it was close to local attractions, which allowed a great balance between relaxation and more activity. Don't be surprised if you see all kinds of wildlife. It was a highlight for us to see snow shoe rabbits, chipmunks, and a variety of birds.
  
  We would definitely return to this cottage!
