Cottage Profile Imagine yourself sitting around a campfire watching the sunset on the beautiful shores of Lake Huron. The Burasari cottage is located on sheltered Warner Bay on Lake Huron, minutes away from the enchanting settlement of Tobermory and the Bruce Peninsula National Park. The cottage is situated on a dead end road and offers privacy. The cottage has been decorated with a “cottage chic” look by the owner. Originally built in the 1950s, the cottage has been updated with modern conveniences but kept its classic charm with a natural pine ceiling and wood flooring. The open concept living room and dining room have an electr...ic fireplace, along with a couch, futon and two chairs perfect for curling up to read a book or enjoy the view of the lake. There is also an oak dining table which seats 6 comfortably. For your enjoyment there is a TV with satellite, DVD player and iPod player (iPod not included). The cottage has 2 bedrooms, both with queen size beds. There is also a futon in the living room which can also be used as a double bed. A separate “bunkie” with a queen size bed offers additional privacy. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge, stove, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. The bathroom contains a shower, sink and toilet. A 250 square foot deck is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee. The area in front of the deck is grassy and suitable for children to play on. Oversized Muskoka chairs and a natural rock fire pit await you on the beautiful limestone shoreline. The shoreline consists of flat rock and is great for swimming (water shoes are recommended). The scenic village of Tobermory is 11kms from the cottage. While in town you can stroll around the shops or sit on a patio and enjoy a cold drink and some delicious locally caught whitefish. Perhaps you would rather take a relaxing boat cruise to view two of the many shipwrecks surrounding Tobermory. The boat trip would not be complete without stopping for a few hours on Flower Pot Island. Dinner cruises aboard the Chi-Cheemaun ferry are also very popular. For the hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the Bruce Peninsula National Park is your wonderland. Guided tours along the Niagara Escarpment, swimming at the Grotto, hiking a portion of the Bruce Trail and scuba diving services are all available within a short distance.

The cottage was great! Had everything we needed and then some. The chairs on the waterfront was our favourite and most used spot. Only complaint would be that there was too much food left in the fridge/freezer. Not sure if it was the owners or the previous renters but left limited space for our weekly stock. A canoe or kayak might be a good addition. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

Spent one week at the Burasari Cottage just outside Tobermory. Upon arrival, the cottage was just as described. Inside it contained all of the needed supplies and much more. Two full water bottles for the water cooler. Two full bottles of propane for BBQ, although we did much of our Bbq'ing on the hibachi we brought. The bedrooms were nicely decorated and the Bunkie was a fantastic extra and felt very modern and spacious.
We spent time on the very nice front deck which has a good view of the lake and also used the firepit twice. The walk to the firepit could be a little tough for little ones or the elderly as we experienced, however we did not mind as it added to the natural beauty of the area.
We would definitely rent this cottage again. Tobermory and surrounding areas are absolutely breathtaking and we will come back to see more.

We had an amazing time at the cottage and are planning to rent it again this year. The waterfront is gorgeous and the cottage is cozy and clean. The privacy was great too. We did have to call the water pump co. as we didn't have running water one day. However they came quickly and fixed the problem, alga had clogged the water pipe.
Bursari is a great cottage, we enjoyed ourselves and wished we'd booked a longer stay.
Nice, but requires day trips to Tobermory and surrouding area

Overall we liked the cottage well enough. The biggest challenge was the waterfront--the rocks are tough going on the feet and it was a gradual walk in, we missed having a dock to jump off of. We knew this going up and it was all fine but it did take away a bit from our enjoyment.

very enjoyable experience...the only complaint we had was the guests before us used all the firewood..propane in the barbeque and the water cooler was emply...we made sure to fill all of these items before we left...the cottage was very peaceful and secluded and we enjoyed seeing all of the sights of tobermory.

The cottage was nice and the location was beautiful. The one bad thing that was a real problem was the carpenter ants. The inside of the cottage was invaded by carpenter ants. It became so bad that in the evening I would literally kill a hundred. I was able to find areas where they were coming in and plug them which made a difference. Absolutely no food even if it was completely sealed could be left on the counter tops. I left a note on the table when we left advising of the problem. The owner needs to do some work to stop this problem. I would not rent this cottage again for that reason. Read more
Thankyou for bringing this issue to our attention. Ants can be a problem on occasion at any property. All we can do is put ant traps in the cottage when ants are discovered this usually take a few days for the traps to be affective.
Unfortunately we were not aware of the situation at the time and therefore could not address the issue. We have conducted an inspection of the cottage after receiving this review and did not find any evidence of ants in the cottage. Mike Campbell Rentcottage.com

I loved this simple cottage with its rocky lakefront. The area has lots of beauty to offer.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It had everything we needed as well as it was clean and well maintained. Great new windows and screens allowed us to open them up during the day to let air in without letting the bugs in! Cottage is right on the Lake an we enjoyed sitting by the fire and watching beautiful sunsets. The cottage is about 10 minutes (by car) away from Tobermory where we enjoyed great coffee and ice cream from the Sweet Shop on daily basis. Overall, this is a very well maintained and nicely decorated cottage with a great location! Can't wait to come back next year!

The cottage was wonderfully equipped, with all amenities. We
appreciated that it had tea, coffee, ice, etc, there when we arrived,
before we had a chance to get groceries. Our goal was to get away
for a week and relax, and we certainly did that, not only in the
cottage, but also on the deck watching the beautiful sunsets.
Our biggest disappointment was with the access to swimming.
There was no private beach, plus the lake bottom was extremely
rocky and made for treacherous footing while trying to walk out to
deeper water. In fact, we never could get more than 25 or 30 feet
out and could only stand there on the rocks. We concluded that
Great Lakes vacations were not for us. We prefer instead, the less
harsh terrain of the "interior lakes", where you can wade into the
water on a sandy bottom, launch a boat, sit on the dock, etc.
While this did not spoil our vacation, it was a notable
disappointment, such that we would not consider renting cottages
again on any of the Great Lakes. Had we known about this in
advance, we would have rented elsewhere.
