Cottage Profile "Mike's Place" is a private, three bedroom, 1000 square foot, waterfront cottage located at Dorcas Bay, on the Shore of Lake Huron. The interior of the cottage is finished in natural pine woodwork and this combined with ample windows helps to create a bright and airy feel inside the cottage. The living area at the cottage has a sectional couch, love seat and arm chair to relax in. A television with VCR is provided for your group. This cottage at the tip of the wonderful Bruce Peninsula with Singing Sands and the Bruce Peninsula National Park very close is a cozy, private retreat equipped with everything we needed. it doesn't have an unobstructed view of Lake Huron, but otherwise it's perfect.

The privacy was outstanding as was the quiet and the feel that we did get away from it all - but it is really not that far from civilization! It was also a short hop to many outlets for accessing the Bruce trail. We were comfortable - very clean and lots of home comforts! A little far from the water (but that seems typical) - but warm to swim as it is shallow. Loved having a fire pit! Don't let that one photo of the front of the place fool you - it is all about the back! Great place for kids to run around and lots of space for rainy days indoors. Kitchen was well equipped. Emergency numbers were easy to find - but we did not need them. The owners had also left a package of brochures of what to do in the area, which really helped!

We have 3 young kids (4, 2 and 10 months) so it is always hard to find a place that they can be entertained all the time. The kids had a blast. The water has a very gradual entry which is very child friendly. It would have been nice if the cottage was a little closer to the water but overall this is a minor thing. The kids enjoyed running through all the trees and playing hide and seek.
The nice breeze at night helped to cool the cottage down for sleeping. We were there during a week of 30 celcius days. The nights were amazing. you forget how many stars are above until you get out where there is total darkness.
The cottage was well equiped with everything you needed from the kitchen, bathroom and living rooms. The kid's movies, toys and games were great to have. It's nice to know that you don't have to pack all these things for rainy days.
