Kent FamilyBliss...great location!
Left on 06/17/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We loved this property and was exactly what we needed to end our holiday, we had superb weather with sunshine everyday. The photos do not do the property justice and was bigger than I expected. It was very quiet and private.
Unfortunately the water level was very low during June, one of the shipwrecks was actually visible out of the water. Our 8 year old son managed to go swimming but for the adults is was a bit too shallow and cold! We never found the tour boats coming to view the wrecks intrusive, there were plenty of seats on all the decks to sit, relax and be private.
One word of warning, the decking is not suitable for small children and I would not recommend the property for those with children under 5, for that reason. The regular chipmunks and blue jay visitors were very tame and obviously used to being fed. Our son nicknamed the chipmunks quite quickly and by the end of the week we could all recognise which one was which.
Plus points for us, the views, the wildlife visitors, the privacy, the beautiful star filled night sky and all the facilities on offer
Downsides, getting the canoes out and trying to get out of the shallows (due to the low water level) rendered the canoes unusable. -

Burlington, OntarioGreat location, great cottage
Left on 10/27/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We spent a week at Rub-a-Dub with 3 teenagers. The cottage was very well equipped, super clean, comfortable, great location and just a short walk or bike to town. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the shipwrecks out front but were not prepared for the frequency of the tour boats - all day until dinner time. As a result, we spent little time on the dock during the day and only swam late in the day after the boats were gone. Also, the water off the dock is only about a foot deep so you must wade out quite far to be able to swim. Despite these setbacks, the cottage was great, we loved the area and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Toronto, OntarioA wonderful cottage in a great location
Left on 10/20/2011 for a stay in July 2011
The cottage is clean and well appointed and is within walking distance of Tobermory. The cottage decks give a perfect view of Big Tub Harbour and the 2 wrecks on the harbour floor. The cottage is perfect for adults but is not really suitable for younger children.

What a wonderful week in this well kept cottage in Big Tub Harbor. Filled with tranquility, beauty of nature, peace, adventure, discovery. What a view from the deck as well. We brought our Mother in law from Russia and as well as my parents. Such a refeshing vaction for all. Alot of great memories were created here for all. Thanks so much, and we look forward to maybe returning another year.

We stayed for week-end in June with our son, his wife & baby. We almost missed the cottage as it is near a bend in the road - the house in nicely hidden from the view of the road with many trees. At the time we were there they seemed to be constructing a separate garage/apartment which would be great for families. The entrance had a place for hanging jackets, etc. and washer & dryer. This area was handy for bringing in groceries and was adjacent to the kitchen. Open concept kitchen/dining/living was bright & welcoming. The cottage was very clean, simply furnished and very comfortable. The bathrooms were of adequate size & the shower had plenty of water.
Outdoors there was a table, chairs & umbrella for shade. The decking was in good repair and the 3 levels allowed me to have a quiet spot to read while the others were having a late breakfast. We could have used more outdoor seating & while we were lucky not have any rain while we were there, there was no place to sit outside and eat if it did. With all that decking (there is a lot) it would be nice if they build a permanent roof so that you bar-b-que outdoors on a rainy day or just sit out & have a coffee (or glass of wine!)
It was fun to watch the tour boat come up to the wreck out front several times during the day. I don't know if you dock a boat there or not - next time we would like to bring our Zodiak inflatable with us.
Hopefully the garage they were building is completed & the upstairs will be available as part of the rental package for extra family members. We like to vacation as a family with our other married son & his chldren.
We enjoyed our short stay & are planning on renting Rub A Dub Dub this summer for a week.
I am sure that anyone staying here will enjoy the cottage & be more than pleased with the kitchen & it's equipment, the comfortable mattresses, & the layout of the cottage. -

TorontoWonderful retreat
Left on 01/24/2009 for a stay in June 2008
It's a wonderful place for our annual family retreat. Our daughters look forward very much to feed the chipmucks and have ice cream in the town. The house is very clean and the decks provide a great and peaceful view to the harbour where we can spend the entire afternoon there reading or just doing nothing.

Dorset, ONVery nice cottage!
Left on 01/23/2009 for a stay in September 2007
We've been to Tobermory before, but first time staying at this cottage. The cottage was clean and fully equiped. Liked the privacy of the masterbedroom and it's own bathroom from the kids rooms! Good privacy on the decks, not alot down at the dock. But it was fun to watch the tour boats turn in front of the property looking at the shipwreck right in front of the cottage. The teenagers enjoyed the closeness to the town of Tobermory and could bike there in minutes.
The only drawback was the driveway, while pretty, it's narrow and was near impossible to manuever a full size truck with boat and trailer. A few frustrating moments were had when we wanted to leave and launch the boat at the town dock.
Other than that, we had a really good time. Recommend the Visitor's Center and lookout tower. We went there twice.

Left on 01/23/2009 for a stay in October 2008
This wonderful 3 bedroom cottage sits above a beautiful view of the bottom of Big Tub Harbour in Tobermory Ontario. This executive style home has everything you could ever want in a northern cottage. The view is spectacular and the proximity to the 2 shallow ship wrecks are feet away from the dock edge. A short 15 minute walk to Tobermory's quaint village makes this cottage very appealing.
It's a very private cottage with a wonderful floor plan if you have extra visitors!
