Cottage Profile "Table Rock" is a three bedroom waterfront cottage, recently renovated, located on a quiet dead-end road at the tip of the Bruce on the dividing line between Georgian Bay and Lake Huron. The main living area has a large field-stone fireplace, bright walls and laminate flooring, a stereo with CD player, a DVD player, television with satellite dish and two couches along with a comfortable chair. There are 10 ft by 6 ft windows facing the lake for a great view. Adding to this is a large waterfront deck with deck-glass railings to provide an unobstructed view of the lake. Adjacent to the living room is a hardwood maple table and c...hairs suitable to comfortably seat six. A new LCD wall-mounted television with swing arm provides viewing to the dining room table for the morning news and living room for nightly movies. For your convenience, wireless internet is also available at the cottage. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge and stove, microwave, and dishwasher. There is plenty of counter space and cupboard storage. An iron remover has also been added to this property to improve the quality of the water. There are three bedrooms at the cottage - one with bunks beds, the second with one single and one double, and the third bedroom has a queen bed. All of the rooms have blinds. The cottage also has full laundry facilities with a washer and dryer. There is a four-piece bathroom with tub and separate shower. The cottage is surrounded by trees which provides a private setting. There is a large wooden deck over-looking Lake Huron. A hot tub can be enjoyed on this deck, as you relax after a day of outdoor activities. On the east side of the cottage is a smaller morning sun deck. Linger with your morning coffee on this deck in the warmth of the morning sun and protected from the winds off Lake Huron. Lands surrounding the cottage are grassy and flat. An outdoor fire pit is located in this area. The owner has constructed an elevated walkway out to a large rock stack and at the end of the walkway is an 8 ft by 12 ft elevated deck with an unobstructed panoramic view of Georgian Bay. This is a great spot to watch fantastic sunsets directly in front of the deck during the summer months. Stairs lead down to a beautiful shoreline with large areas of flat rock and clear blue water. There are areas of shallow entry. The cottage comes with the use of two sit-on-top sea kayaks, great for exploring the Lake Huron shoreline. Look for the shipwreck out in front of the cottage known as the "Cascadia". The cottage has a garage containing a ping pong table. Tobermory is a short distance away (9 km) on a paved road. There you can stroll through the shops in the village, visit the restaurants and the library and enjoy the beautiful natural harbour. You can also take a scenic boat cruise where you can view shipwrecks, lighthouses and visit Flowerpot Island. Dinner cruises aboard the Chi-Cheemaun are also very popular. The sandy shore of Singing Sands Beach is just a short drive away (13 km) and provides a perfect place for the kids to play in the sand and swim. For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the Bruce Peninsula is a dream, and this great family cottage is the perfect place to enjoy your vacation!

Best Sunsets and location. Exceptionally clean home with beautiful furniture. There is nothing shabby about this cottage. We were impressed with how well this cottage is maintained.
This is my new place to stay at when I return to Tobermory.

My husband and I own a busy cafe in Midland and we look forward to this week away, every year, to re-charge the batteries. This is definitely the best spot for doing just that. It's quiet and relaxing, but close to town for shopping, close to the Bruce Trail for a little hiking and close to beaches and parks for exploring. We always choose a destination that accepts our dogs, so that is a big positive for us and they loved it here too. The cottage itself is very comfortable with every amenity we could think of - we especially enjoyed the hot tub after a long day hiking on the trail. The wireless internet was handy too. Everything is spotless and looks brand new! Booking the cottage was a breeze - the web site is easy to navigate and very thorough. We enjoyed every minute of our holiday and hope to return again next year! Thanks so much!

Great cottage, very clean, newly renovated. Fall season hikes are plenty, night time sunsets on sunset deck, hot tub and fireplace were lovely. Highly recommend this cottage to anyone renting in Tobermory.

This is our 7th time renting from RentCottage.com We've recommended their service to dozens of people and would never go anywhere else. They are helpful, friendly and know their cottages!
We have always rented a different place each year in the Tobermory area. Each having its own distinct reason. We loved this cottage, its so very private, and so very quiet, Even with the strong winds off the lake, you don't hear a single thing.
The location is too far to walk to Tobermory (which we've always done), but the drive makes it worth then spending the day in town, or heading out to a Bruce Trail. Its equipped with all the kitchen basics you'd have at home, the dishwasher is a nice bonus along with the washer/dryer.
Since we were there the 1st week of October, we didn't use the kayaks available, but had the weather been warmer I'm sure we would have at least stepped into the water.
We couldn't figure out why the cottage had no stairs outside from the deck to the walkaway to the 2nd deck, but the sense of security of visiting wildlife (such as bears or fox) made this feature make more sense.
Unlike other cottages we've rented, items we may have forgotten to bring were sparse, or not available (such as toilet paper, wash cloths for dishes or extra spices). Be sure to bring everything you'd ever use at home. Coffee filters, toilet paper and dishwasher soap were the 3 we had forgotten.
We did discuss all the cottages we have stayed at in the Tobermory area, and we both agreed that we would definitely return to this one. It is very family friendly, but small if you have teenagers as there is no second level to retreat to if the weather was less than desireable. Although they do have the garage with the pingpong table and old couch to sit on...if needed.
I have nothing bad to say about this cottage. It would be a beautiful spot anytime of the year to visit!

This cottage--and the whole vacation--met and far exceeded my expectations. After poring over the photos for months I was delighted to arrive and have everything be--exactly like I imagined it! Arrival and settling in were made simple and straightforward thanks to the detailed instruction packet and the excellent set-up of the cottage...which is clean, beautiful, and well stocked with everything you might need. It is bright with wonderful views of the lake from almost all the rooms, and I especially loved the deck with the glass panels, which not only provide an unbroken view of the lake and shoreline but serve to block the wind as well (we were there in late September).
The location is private: other cottages are nearby but well screened by evergreens. It was very quiet; probably there is more activity around in the summer but for a fall vacation spot the stillness was exactly what I was looking for.
There are plenty of things to do in the area, especially if you like geology and natural history ... or it's a great spot to just stay put and enjoy the immediate surroundings: the sky, the water, the sunsets, stars, and wildlife.
Tobermory is close enough for shopping, or just enjoying the lovely harbor area, but at the same time the cottage provides a wonderfully secluded retreat.
I appreciated all the helpful and cheerful assistance from the rentcottage staff as well.
It is a long drive from NJ but utterly worth it. I would definitely return here!

Rest and Relaxation in the Beauty of Nature

We loved our stay at this cottage. It was equipped with everything you could need to have a relaxing week. While there were neighboring cottages it was very quiet and private do to the trees surrounding the cottage. The lake was beautiful and we had stunning sunsets. The shoreline was fairly rocky and on a windy day when the waves picked up it is not the best for swimming. However there are several small beaches and small coves a quick drive away that offered better swimming. The town of Tobermory is small but does not lack things to do. We loved our trip to flowerpot island and hiking the national park. There are several good restaurants to choose from for a night out.
Relaxing, beautiful vacation.

Really enjoyed our stay! The view, hot tub, fire place were our favorite features. The cottage is nice with all the amenities. Enjoyed having the dishwasher and washer/dryer. Used the kayak and life jackets as well. Directions for the television would have been helpful. Not sure how many channels we were suppose to be able to get. We found one, neither of us was familiar with the satellite system.
We had a problem with flies at the end of the week both inside and outside the cottage. We were very careful with garbage and keeping food cleaned up so that was a little annoying. The flies were around the dining and living room windows.
Excellent Vacation - best in years!

I booked our cottage in January and received excellent information so the planning process was not stressful at all. Arrived to the cottage and it was just like it was protrayed online. We loved the view and the hot tub extra was great and worth the extra fee.
This was the first time I had been to the Bruce Penninsula and loved the Tobermory area and plan to return. The Glass bottom tour was my favourite.
A great place to unwind but still have all the comforts of home

Excellent service great to get a nice clean cottage on arrival. The cottage is beautiful, very nicely laid out with great big windows overlooking the lake. The deck was my favorite, I love the glass enclosure and I enjoyed the hottub, it was perfect. Close enough to town if you needed something. The location of the cottage is very pirate. Everything was very nice the only downfall was battling a few ants in the kitchen. I know it's a very bad year for them.
A relaxing week; wonderful views

We had a great week at this bright, clean, spacious cottage. We got extremely lucky with the weather--warm and sunny every day! The cottage has a good layout that would work well for families. The deck is enclosed to the cottage--there's no way to get to the water or the rest of the property from it, and this could be appealing to renters with younger children, although I kind of longed for that direct connection to the waterfront. (To get to the water you exit the front door and walk around the side of the cottage to a nice walkway that's been built leading to a small deck near the water.) There is a lot of visual privacy from the neighbouring cottages, but be aware that they are quite close by, and we could easily hear conversations and minor renovation/repair taking place outdoors on either side. This was not a major source of disruption.
I especially appreciated is the amount of empty cabinet space in the kitchen and bathroom; a whole cabinet above the dishwasher and one above the toilet are empty. This makes it much easier to store one's things without worrying that they're getting mixed up with or lost among the owner's stuff. We found the mattress in the main bedroom left a little to be desired, and as a result, we didn't sleep as well as we'd have liked. Yet we had a great week nonetheless, parked inside and out, reading piles of books in the bright, sunny environs. The living room furniture is particularly comfortable. The cottage is a short drive from Tobermory so it's easy to get whatever you need, yet not be in the middle of the village hubbub. We didn't use even half the amenities at the cottage, but there are lots, including a washer/dryer, TV/sound system, kayaks, ping-pong table, hot tub, etc., so there's plenty here to satisfy a variety of renters. All things considered, the week we spent at Table Rock was one of the best cottage vacations we've had since we started renting twelve years ago.

Our family had a great family vacation at this cottage. The cottage contained everything you could possibly want in a vacation home.
The kids had a great time exploring the shoreline in the kayaks. We spent many hours sitting on the decks enjoying the panoramic view of the bay. Great campfires under the stars and enjoyed the hot tub after a long days hike on the Bruce Trail. At night we would sit in front of the large stone fireplace reading books.
It was also nice to have access to the internet through the high speed wireless connection to stay connected to work.
A great holiday we will be back.

My husband and I were desperately needing a quiet and restful vacation away from the busyness of life. We wanted to go somewhere in the Tobermorey area, and looked first at resorts and B&B's which is our usual course. We had never rented a cottage before. I found the rentcottage.com site on the web, and was intrigued. As soon as we saw cottage #44 on the website, we knew it was for us. Still a bit nervous and skeptical, we decided to go for it, and if it turned out badly, chalk it up to experience.
We were impressed with the company right from the beginning. The complete details, friendliness of staff, by email and phone they answered any and all questions we had.
We arrived at the cottage on Sunday afternoon, and upon driving in the driveway we were instantly impressed with the property. It looked like all we were promised and hoped for. Very private and secluded, clean and well cared for. Upon entering the cottage, we knew completely that this was the perfect choice. For the 6 days we were there, we almost didn't want to leave. Everything was so clean, neat - and the kitchen provided everything we could need and more. Having wifi and satellite tv was a great bonus for the later evenings. The hottub gave a great view of the sunsets each night.
We especially enjoyed walking down on the rocky shore and sitting out on the shoreline deck.
In the mornings, we enjoyed the sun on the front deck, and in the afternoons, the shade of the shoreline trees.
There was nothing we liked least.. it was all the best, really.
We were located close enough to Tobermory to enjoy what the beautiful town has to offer, yet also far away enough to have the secluded retreat we needed.
In some ways, I am loathe to recommend this place, as we don't want to share it.. we are already booked for next year, and look forward to regular trips back. Well worth every kilometre driven and penny spent to get there.
A great family cottage
