Barrie, ontpanabode experience
Left on 09/13/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. The cottage was very clean, sunsets on the water were beautiful and the hot tub was a great touch. The squirrels kept us and the dogs entertained, they are quite the little comedians! Be sure to pick up some peanuts they go crazy for them!!
It was a very short drive to many different attractions The Grotto, Tobermory, Singing Sands beach. Which was great when we wanted to swim and do day trips. The shore line at the cottage is all rock so be sure to have your water shoes. It was not great for swimming and is super slippery, but the sandy beach (singing sands) was only 5 min away and was perfect for that! :) We had a great time and would definately rent again. -

We loved the cottage, the privacy, the hot tub was wonderful. We spent most of our time down by water, our son catching crayfish and us enjoying the view and the breeze. We went into Tobermory and to Singing Sands beach which were both not far away. thoroughly enjoyed this vacation.

I can't say enough good things about our vacation at Panabode Cottage! We rented through Rentcottage.com & the process was super easy. Laura was helpful & always got back to me quickly.
I grew up on the Bruce Peninsula & was pleased to find that it was as beautiful as I left it. The shoreline is a beautiful stretch of pockmarked limestone with little trees & flowers claiming whatever bit of water and soil they can in which to grow. We had so much fun hunting the little crayfish (lift the rocks near the water) & checking on the tadpoles. We saw bunnies and wild turkeys too. The chipmunks will come and eat peanuts right out of your hand!
We watched the sunset each night over Lake Huron while we readied our campfire for roasting marshmallows. A great way to see the sunset is from a kayak - just return to shore before it gets dark. There are no city lights to get you home; just a sky full of stars.
The cottage itself was immaculate, well maintained, well appointed & comfortable. There are lots of movies and games. They weren't old movies either - recent releases for kids and adults. Plenty of dry wood for campfires & the woodstove was already cut, stacked & sheltered outside.
The hot tub is added luxury. It's a terrific place to watch the stars & have a glass of wine.
If you run out of anything, Tobermory is a short drive away with a Foodland & Lcbo. It's also great to visit with galleries & gift shops. Try the famous Tobermory Fish Taco & stop at the Sweet Shop for ice cream. Enjoy your stay! -

The cottage was absolutley gorgeous. We couldn't have asked for better weather the week we were there. The hot tub was a nice touch, we sit in it at night, listen to the water and watch the stars. We didn't get much swimming in, the water was a little chilly but expected for september. We would recommend the cottage to anyone. Thank you so much, and we hope to return next year.

Left on 10/29/2009 for a stay in September 2009
This was the third cottage rental through this service. Our family enjoyed the peace and quiet and privacy that this location offer. The sky were clear and dark with stars like we've never seen before. We enjoyed all nights by the large fire pit area and enjoyed the most breathtaking sunsets. It had all of the needs for the four of us. We would certainly stay again. Very nice place if you want peace, quiet and privacy...away from the hustle and bustle.

Its convenient location and private, peaceful soundings makes the cottage a perfect retreat. The cottage and property are well maintained, clean and outfitted with above average amenities. I look forward to my return this fall

Oakville, ONWonderful Hideaway
Left on 01/27/2009 for a stay in August 2008
The cottage is beautiful and in great condition. We were disappointed to find the TV didn't work when we arrived, but were very impressed by the owner's response. We called on Friday night and the owner showed up the very next morning with a replacement TV, even though he lives over four hours drive away. In no time, we had it hooked up and working. (Not that we wanted to spend our whole week in front of the tube, but the Olympics were on and we're fans.)
Otherwise, the cottage was everything we'd hoped for. Everything was clean. The BBQ was brand new. The kitchen was well supplied. There was even a bag of peanuts for feeding the very friendly chipmunk out front. Our son loved having the chipmunk eat right out of his hand!
The beds weren't your typical old cottage saggers, but were nice and comfortable.
We didn't use the bunkhouse, but did take a peek inside. It smelled somewhat musty and might not have been great for any sleepers with breathing problems.
We enjoyed the waterfront - don't forget your water shoes! - and paddled around using the sit-upon kayaks. (You can buy water shoes in Tobermory for about $15.) If you want to dig your toes into the sand, go to Singing Sands beach, a short drive away. It's a very shallow entry beach that's great for the kids, especially for making sandcastles or flying kites!
To top it all off, there's a hot tub! The owners empty it out and refill it for each new guest, so it's really clean. This means it won't be up to temperature for your first night, but it'll be great for the rest of the week. Enjoy lying back and watching for shooting stars! -

This was a beautiful cottage with a great cottage feel. It was separate from the neighbours and had great privacy. The sleeping cabin was great for separate parties. The home was clean and neat. We really enjoyed the hot tub!!!

This is a very nice cottage, comfortable and well appointed. Enjoyed the wood interior and the light was fantastic because of the great windows. The cottage has a warm and comfortable feeling. Good size kitchen. Great beds by the way, which makes a huge difference. The cottage is reasonably private has a nice shore line and pleasant woodsy setting. Good size deck and good BBQ. We'd consider coming back again. Especially good I think for a smaller # of people, there were 3 adults in total and we were very comfortable. We didn't use the Bunkie at all, so I can't speak to those accommodations.
