      Great weekend!

Left on 06/14/2013 for a stay in June 2013

Had a great weekend at the Sheiling cottage with some good friends. The cottage has everything you need and is in a great location, not only on the water with a great view but close to town for convenience. I would recommend this cottage to anyone. Give it a try and you wont be disappointed.

      Fantastic Vacation!

Left on 12/19/2012 for a stay in September 2012

We had a great time, again! We have been vacationing in Tobermory for almost 10 years now, with most of them being at The Sheiling. It is a great property and the owners are fantastic. We couldn't ask for a better vacation.

      Lovely cottage

Left on 09/11/2012 for a stay in August 2012

Had a great time at my first cottage rental. Cottage was immaculately clean on arrival. Kitchen was very well stocked with utensils and appliances. You can watch the sunset when sitting out on the dock. Kayaks are fun but a bit tippy especially when it's windy. Location is close to Tobermory. The only minor complaints was a loud toilet and the master bedroom has a rattling frame.

      beautiful and comfortable home

Left on 10/24/2011 for a stay in July 2011

This home was beautifully renovated. spotlessly clean and very comfortable to be in.
The view from the deck was spectacular.
We were able to place lounging chairs on the dock and to sit, read and enjoy the waterfront all day.
Tobermory is a wonderful area to explore. We were also incredibly lucky with the weather, which added to the general feel-good atmosphere.

      A beautiful cottage

Left on 08/10/2011 for a stay in June 2011

We rented the cottage for 3 days. It was perfectly clean. The beds are comfortable. The view from the house and the patio is gorgeous. Close to Tobermory, calm and no direct view on the neighborhood. Very good facilities: barbecue, wood fireplace, kayak. Bruce Peninsula National Park and Flowerpot island are easily accessible and are really nice places to visit.

      Nice cottage but

Left on 08/17/2010 for a stay in July 2010

The inside of the cottage was amazing and as advertised, absolutely spectacular inside, however...

The dock needs maintenance, exposed nail heads were tripping hazards. Also the deck is not safe for children under 8 to 10. Distance between spindles is to large, wood is very wet in spots and appears to be rotting. Also spindles are not fastened in a safe manner, one actually came off while we were there.

As a place for a adults, highly recommend it but until the outside is fixed up am not recommending it for folks with younger children.

Thank you for bringing these items to our attention. The issues raised have been noted by the owner. All nail heads have been inspected and necessary repairs made to eliminate any trip hazard. A routine check will be made on a regular basis to eliminate any potential future hazards. All deck and dock boards have also been inspected and, while there is no sign of rotten boards, all decking will be reviewed in the spring and any boards requiring replacement will be done. While the pickets are 6 inches apart, none are loose. In the spring of 2011, if time permits, the pickets will be realigned to a smaller opening. The cottage web page has been updated to identify this as a child safety concern for infants and toddlers

      Relaxing

Left on 10/29/2009 for a stay in October 2009

Rentacottage.com is a fantastic service to book a stressfree holiday. We've been booking now for 6 years, going to a different spot each year to get the full enjoyment of the Tobermory area.
The cottage is well equipped with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The fireplace certainly came in handy for our very cooler week of weather. The kitchen was well equipped and had most of the basics. Location was a nice walk to town, and the proximity to the water was great. Definitely a nice spot if you have children as the cottage provides a nice shoreline.
It does take some getting used to the flag pole rattle if you are not used to that, and the dishwasher is very noisey if you run it at nighttime.
