The tower (Torre), transformed during the 16th century in a summer residence, belonged for centuries to a noble family who used to spend there the hot season. The apartment is bright, elegant and finely decorated with great attention to details , and can comfortably accommodate up to four people. You will enjoy the wide panor...Read more

we stayed 8 gorgeous nights in this paradise. we usually travel to small italian small towns and stay in agriturismos. this was one of the best. best location to stay if you are going to visit umbria. 200m. to main road E45 and 5km. to Todi. very nice bedroom witha comfortable and big bed. a roomy bathroom and a cozy and charming living room with a small kitchen enclosed for our nightly italian pastas and salads. Gloria and Luisa were very helpful with everything.
Perfect gateway if you are willing to scape from big hotels and stay at the umbrian hills.

Host service is friendly and take car of your need in an excellent way, especially to tell you how to reach the place.
Spa service is small but cozy and perfect for couple relaxing. Don't miss it

we always welcome well behaved pets!
Torre Bertona features a WiFi Internet connection. Sometimes, due to the thickness of the stone walls, the connection upstairs can be feeble or absent, but in the common room on the ground floor, whose key is given to every guest, the WiFi connection is always available -

Torre Bertona is like something out of a storybook. Fireflies light up the lane and fields at night. Fairytale vistas. The air is scented by honeysuckle. The gardens are inviting. I understand there are fields of sunflowers in high summer. There's even a dungeon! Todi, an extraordinary medieval (or older) walled mountaintop city, is just a 10 minute drive. This is ideal for complete relaxation or a small retreat/workshop group...long walks in the countryside. The owner, Gloria, provides for your every need and the fresh ricotta and fruit preserves at breakfast are divine. The apartments are sunny, well appointed, newly renovated and the bathrooms (the top thing on my list when I travel) are modern and pristine. Get yourself to Torre Bertano, Gloria will have chilled Grecchetto waiting.

Loved this place. Beautifully sited in Umbria, near major attractions, great place for groups and families. I brought ten graduate students w/me and we had an amazing time. The common room is a great place to work. And the jacuzzi a great place to relax. Everything we needed was provided. At night we walked among the fireflies. In the afternoon dozes in the beautiful garden or went exploring to nearby towns. Warm days, cool evenings. Easy access to supermarkets, banks, but off the beaten track. Can't recommend this highly enough!!!

Left on 06/04/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Case di Torre Bertona. The medieval house, the history, the chapel and the location were all spectacular and just what we were looking for. Gloria is the perfect hostess and we really enjoyed her knowledge of the history of the house and the area. The countryside surrounding the house is breathtaking and we really loved the city of Todi. The locals that we came into contact with couldn't have been more helpful and friendly to us and we were always made to feel that we were part of the Italian experience, and not just tourists. When my wife developed a medical condition, Gloria arranged for her assistant Vittorio to pick up a local Italian doctor and bring him to the house to treat my wife; we couldn't have been more appreciative. If you are looking for a beautiful house in a serene setting with plenty of medieval atmosphere, this is where you want to stay.

Rome, ItalyPeaceful holiday with hiking
Left on 04/19/2011 for a stay in April 2011
We stayed for a weekend at Torre Bertona in the beginning of april. The property is located amid a peaceful village, and in the walking path. There were several hiking trails and we followed three - for two hours, for five hours, and for three hours. The trails (actually roads) go through natural reserve with some wild flora and fauna.
We woke up to the chirping of birds. The breakfast was home-made bread, locally made cheese, jam, tea and coffee. We could sit out in the open and enjoy the natural beauty. We went to Todi and Perugia for dinner two evenings.
Gloria, the manager is a genuine hostess. She waited for us to check-in, and arranged for meeting on our check out.
We will probably go and stay there again.
