Kelowna, BCDream Beach Cottage--Romantic Getaway
Left on 03/01/2013 for a stay in January 2013
If you have ever dreamed of owning a cottage on the beach (without all the headaches of ownership), this is the place for you. We have stayed three times at the Sea Shack, and each visit we've stayed longer. The beach is west coast Vancouver Island at its best, and the cottage is absolutely charming--very private, nestled in among salal and evergreens, with a view of the beach and ocean as well as several lovely decked areas in the garden to enjoy the sun. Everything is provided--rain gear, fully supplied kitchen, wifi, TV, Dvd's, Cd's, games, books, toiletries. There's a wood-burning stove and lots of firewood. Take your toothbrush, clothes, and a few groceries. And it's dog-friendly. Our aging golden retriever sheds years running along the beach. The Sea Shack is our favorite romantic getaway. We tend to snuggle in and cook our own meals with seafood purchased in Tofino or Ucluelet, but there are tons of excellent restaurants if that is your preference. Check out their web page. This place is as good as it looks onlline.

VancouverAn outstanding experience
Left on 01/24/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We have stayed in Tofino over the past ten years, this was our best experience. Seashack makes you welcome even before you go inside. We arrived on time to find the house light up and a welcome basket inside. The fire was laid for us and we walked in a felt immediately at home. Seashack gets the little things right, the towels, the soap, the shampoo. It's all in the detail and they do it better than anyone on Chesterman Beach. We have tried many to them and this is the best for a couple (with two dogs).

Perfect location...
Left on 10/29/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Having stayed at the Wickaninnish Inn during previous visits to Tofino/Long Beach, we knew we loved being right on Chesterman Beach. The Seashack Cottage couldn't be better. We arrived to find a cozy, well-appointed cottage with direct access to Chesterman Beach. The owners have provided a 'welcome book' which answered any questions we might have had and also provided great information regarding restaurants and amenities close by. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped for a self-catering property and there is a BBQ available as well. The cottage is decorated in a charming West-Coast, shabby chic fashion and the wood stove was welcome on cool rainy evenings. Plenty of firewood was available. The extra details, like Dvd's and Cd's on hand, WiFi internet, beach towels provided for use and locally made bath products really made us feel right at home. Of course the location can't be beat. The property has a lovely garden planted with native species and a short path through a salal hedge leads you right onto the beach. There are 2 patio areas beach side in addition to the large deck that wraps around the cottage. We will definitely stay at The Seashack again.

Route 50 Trip
Calgary, ABSeaside bliss at the Seashack in Tofino
Left on 10/10/2012 for a stay in August 2012
All of our needs, and even those we didn't know we had, were met at the Tofino Seashack! This is the ultimate getaway place for a couple who are looking for relaxation and/ or a range of activities to be had by stepping out the door or within a short drive or bike ride. The Seashack location makes it the perfect place to sit and watch waves and whales, surf, run or walk Chesterman Beach. Other beach hikes, sea kayaking and other activities are within easy access as well. Do as little or as much as you want from this location but be warned, it is such a comfortable and cozy cottage with great views you may never want to leave!

Italy, GreeceBliss. Privacy, unsurpassed beauty and comfort.
Left on 07/20/2012 for a stay in October 2010
What we love about the Seashack most is the complete privacy of the property on the best beach in Tofino. It feels like our very own cottage with a private beach overlooking Chesterman beach, sunsets in the evening from 3 choices of decking in the gardens and all the small well considered amenities from rain gear to scissors, candles and always an excellent selection of contemporary fiction. The photos simply do not convey the atmosphere of complete and utter relaxation that permeates this treasure of a holiday stay. There are several first rate restaurants to choose from in the area but when we are at the Seashack we never want to leave. We head into Tofino for breakfast and to pick up fresh crabs to cook for dinner and then spend our holiday walking the beach with our dog and soaking in the glorious scenery with wood burning fires and hot baths if it's raining. The only place I love to holiday more is in Italy, Venice -especially in off season.

Make sure you go there when the sun is out to get the maximum from Seashack's great location. We enjoyed it even on a rainy day but the sun helps everything.

Left on 04/11/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Seashack Cottage on Chesterman beach is a wonderful place to stay in one of the most beautiful parts of the Tofino area. The garden and wood decks add to the feeling of privacy and offer secluded places to enjoy rainforest sunshine. The cottage is obviously loved, very clean/tidy and stocked with wonderful local soap. All questions were answered promptly and the off-site caretaker was available for our requests.

Bring in 2012 at Seashack Cottage...We cooked - everything we needed was at our fingertips. We walked - the beach is right out the garden gate. We soaked - bath products better than home. We snoozed - bed was super comfortable. We relaxed - the cottage is a delight. And the location - well...couldn't be better.

Left on 11/23/2010 for a stay in October 2010
Just a quick note to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay at the Seashack. I am a big fan of Pottery Barn, Aveda & Restoration Hardware so I felt right at home in your cottage.
The weather was fantastic the whole 10 days we were in Tofino so the sunsets every night were fabulous and the dog walkers & surfers were on the beach all week entertaining us.
I ran every morning on the back roads & beaches and my husband fly-fished for a few hours (Grice Bay) and then we toured around on our rented bikes which was great, and lots of beach walking. We started every morning with a long coffee on the deck, and began each evening with the cocktail hour(s) in your Muskoka chairs down by the ocean. We brought back crab from Trilogy our last night, and all other meals we enjoyed making in your open kitchen with the fantastic views from there.
Loved the decks, the gardens, the location on the beach, the sound of the ocean, the calming décor...
Please thank Netty for us, she gave us a nice history and welcome tour. She's lovely. -

Left on 06/01/2010 for a stay in May 2010
Each year I count down the number of sleeps until my retreat at the Seashack. I love everything about it: the cottage itself is very comfortable, very relaxing and very well appointed. The ocean views are fantastic. The grounds are private and lush. The location, right on Chesterman's Beach, can't be beat.

We have stayed at the Shack several times over the years and love it. It is a beautiful spot with great privacy, which we really value. The property is cozy and has a lot of charm. The beach is amazing and never crowded. It is a place for people to unwind and relax. As soon as we get there, we feel all our stress melt away. We spend days just staring at the ocean from the decks of the property. The area has a lot of natural beauty. The house is well equiped and very comfortable. I would highly recommend this property.

North Vancouver, BCBest House - Best Beach
Left on 05/24/2010 for a stay in September 2009
We've been coming to Chesterman Beach for annual vacations for over 20 years, the last seven or eight of which we've enjoyed at Sea Shack.
It's the perfect place for two. Dog friendly with a fully fenced lot, and strategically positioned secluded decks for sun bathing and sunsets. And of course the beach!
The small roundhouse is one of a kind, very comfortable, nicely furnished and well equiped. It has everything you need.
Just a short walk (by beach or road) to Wickanninnish Inn, and a short drive into Tofino. What more could one ask for? -

North Vancouver/DeltaRomantic Get-away
Left on 05/20/2010 for a stay in April 2010
We loved the Seashack. It was a perfect romantic get-away. Of course the location, right on the beach, was spectacular. But, having a design background, I also loved the decor and all of the little touches, such as old photographs, artifacts, beach finds, antiques, books, all set off by the white walls and the bright light from the windows and skylight.
The weathered Cape Cod chairs and log footstools on the beachfront patio set the scene for a perfect after beach stroll glass of wine.
We want to come back and will soon!
Thank you! -

Left on 05/17/2010 for a stay in October 2009
My husband and I, along with our labrador retriever, Casey have stayed at
the Seashack Cottage each fall since 2006 and we will continue to do so as
long as we are able.
The cottage is a treasure; it is delightfully private, perfectly situated on
Chesterman Beach, and comes equipped with every amenity, right down to
an excellent reading library, dishes for the canine guests, and spare
toothbrushes.
The Seashack is a short drive from the town of Tofino, but we never want to
leave the cozy home, the gorgeous garden and the incredible cedar decks
on the property that sit just a bit above the beach. Our favourite parts of a
Seashack holiday are the luxurious king-sized bed, misty morning walks
along Chesterman Beach, and building fires on cooler days in the wood
stove. The thing we like the least is having to leave.

Bragg Creek, AlbertaSeashack provides great holiday!
Left on 05/17/2010 for a stay in March 2010
I really enjoyed my stay at the Seashack in March, 2010. And that says a lot
considering I arrived during a storm -- and it poured rain the entire time I
was there!! Despite the weather - I still loved every minute of it. The cabin
is bright, cheerful and beautifully appointed -skylights everywhere - I
lived on the beautiful big window seat - the bed is really comfortable --
and the Aveda bathroom products were a lovely surprise. There were
raincoats and boots and outdoor blankets provided....and when I showed up
all the lights were on and the music was playing and a gift basket was
waiting for me. It truly was heaven.....it felt like I was staying at a very
private upscale inn!!
I always take a week by myself a couple times a year in Tofino and I have
stayed in 4 different rental cabins on Chesterman Beach and I have also
stayed at the Wickaninish Inn and the SeaShack is my favorite property by
far. The grounds are large, well kept, beautiful and private - you really feel
like you are the only cabin on the beach!
I will return to the Seashack for every one of my stays. It is pricier than any
of the other places I have stayed....but it is worth every penny -- as the
"details" of this property are what make your stay special. The owner hasn't
missed a beat!

We have stayed at the Tofino Seashack for the past three years. From the first visit (and the minute we drove through the gate), it felt like home. The home is comfortable and inviting and the view cannot be beat. The house sits on Chesterman Beach and the ocean can be seen at any angle; from the bed, the wrap-around porch; the whale-watching perch. The owners have taken great care from the landscaping to the decor to make the home match its surroundings. The bed is comfortable and large. The bath includes both a shower and soaking tub. The owner is very thoughtful and takes great care to provide the guest with everything that you would need. The town of Tofino is a short drive from the house and has some terrific restaurants. Alternatively, a short walk up the beach from the house and you can enjoy an unbelievable dinner at The Pointe Restaurant at the Wickaninnish Inn. A wonderful stay, each time we visit at a place that is nothing like a shack, in a place that feels like you have arrived at the end of the earth.
