With a 360 degree view from the Eagle's Nest Lookout, elevated screened porch, and 2309 sq ft of space you are sure to enjoy your Northwood vacation. There is 740 ft of deck space, cozy loft for lounging, cat walk, vaulted ceilings and rec room. The cabin is in Wildwood Acres neighborhood (rural residential setting) about 1.5 miles north of Tofte and is near hiking, biking, skiing, dining and snowmobile trails. We stayed there for my wifes 30th birthday and would snowmobile out of there each day. Cabin is absolute amazing and fit our needs perfectly. No complaints what so ever. Well besides the fact that we had to leave.

The home was great. Plenty of room for the 9 of us. Sleeping accommodations were very good. We had youth to elderly seniors and all were comfortable.Wish we'd had more snow but can't be guaranteed with a MN winter.Local merchants were open Christmas day. Only had 3 1/2 days but lots of fun both indoors and out. Initially annoyed without TV but it turned out to be a blessing. We actually got to connect as a family! The decor was spot on making it feel like home. All aspects of the rental arrangements were well attended to making for a pleasurable worry free vacation. Great that we could have our family pets with us.

We have been renting homes on the Northshore of Lake Superior in Minnesota for several years. The home itself was terrific but unfortunately it was closely surrounded by other homes and across the lane there was business operating large machinery.
The home had also not been cleaned very well - there was a dirty wash cloth left in one of the bathrooms, trash left in the waste basket in the half bath and the floor on the main floor appeared to have not been swept.Response from Cascade Vacation Rentals, LLC - 11/29/2012

Thanks for your review of the property. We will add some verbiage to our website about the nature of the Wildwood Acres neighborhood. There is a small business at the end of the road. It is a snowmobile repair shop which some of our guests love.
We will also address the cleaning issues with cleaning company we hire to take care of the property.

While I can't say enough about the log home we stayed in, it was beautiful and the gal that helped us Maren Webb at Tofte Cascade Rentals, was a doll... I have to say the incremental charges for each and everything made the stay extremely costly... There were way too many additional charges for this and for that.. For a charge of each night stay of $189, it ended up costing us over $700 for two nights instead of $380 so almost double the per night quote.. We would not chose a vacation home thru Cascade again.

Thanks for your review of Eagle's Nest. Just as when booking a hotel room, you see a nightly rate and taxes and fees are added at the end. We do offer a wide range of homes which are priced from $100/night to $410/night. As for our charges for this home, the $189 is based on 2 people staying at the cabin. We have our rates set up the way they are so it makes the homes more affordable for smaller parties. We also have to charge mandatory state and local tax which is rather high in our area, as well as other fees which make rentals possible for the general public.
We do not hide fees and taxes from our guests. They are listed out in the instant quote section on our website and on our guest confirmation letter.
We do appreciate your feedback.

This home was wonderful. My Husband, 7 kids and I stayed for three nights. It was quiet and had a lot of space to run and the views are awesome. We had a fabulous time and enjoyed how close it was to state parks and hiking. Only complaint is would of liked a vacuum, dishwasher and washer/ dryer.

Very nice cabin, amazing woodwork inside and out. Loved the double decks. Location wasnt the best, not really able to see the lake and the road was pretty busy, but we still relaxed.

We really liked out stay. We had a great time. We went skiing on Saturday at Lutsen and had dinner at Bluefin. It was a great getaway.
