Thousands of people have chosen this apartment over a fancy hotel in the centre of the city. What is the secret? Nishi-Ogikubo is situated in a perfect location to be described as an âurban escapeâ and yet, provides proximity and smooth access to the major sites in Tokyo such as, Shinjuku, Kichijoji and Shibuya. The nearest station, JR Nishi-Ogikubo, can be reached in 3 minutes through the 24 hour open supermarket, which is just around the corner of the apartment building. Chuo-Sobu line makes a stop every few minutes and then it only takes 12...Read more

Melbourne, AustraliaCosy, convenient and friendly staff
Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in March 2013
The place we lived in was very nice, new and convenient. My parents thought the interior design of the house was so much better than many houses (not hotels) in australia. It's a little small but for 3 people we had space to move around and we can eat anything we want in the house with the supplies of the kitchen stuff. The sofa bed was a bit hard but we were supplied with an extra mattress so it was fine as well. The location was very great, although it will take you 30-45 minutes to go to Tokyo station (where we had to be to go to basically most of the places), but the apartment itself is really close to the station and a 24h supermarket (which is so cheap to buy stuff as well). The staff is very helpful, Mr Yuya met us at the station to lead us to the house and Mr Makoto would just answer all the questions that we had by emails or Viber. Free internet as well!! :)

SingaporeNice place, but a little small.

The host, Makoto has good command of English, and a good sense of humour. He also highlighted some areas of interest in the vicinity of the apartment and the station, which helped us navigate the neighbouhood more easily.
The place is clean, excepting the stains on the sofa bed. The bright orange and yellow of the room, gives the place a vibrant feel.
Things which can be improved upon :
a. Sofa bed cover without stains
b. Brighter light in toilet
c. Toilet seat with bidet and warmer -

We have booked this apartment for four days and we loved our stay here. The check-in was the friendliest introduction we ever had. So our contact does not only explain and showed us the appartment, furthermore he gave us several tipps for Tokyo and showed us the near area what was very helpful. The location of the apartment is in the near of a train station so it is very easy to get around in Tokyo. The apartment was very clean and comfy and is big enough for up to three people. The kitchen has everything a hungry traveller needs for cooking. I can only recommend this appartment.

Auckland Central, New ZealandNishi Ogikubo -Location extra bonus
Left on 11/02/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We were met at the train station by Makoto, our host which literally 2 minutes from the apartment. The apartment was perfect for our needs, very clean and had all the usual facilities with a few unexpected but appreciated extra's, e.g. ironing board, stationery. While the train track line was literally out our window, (we discovered this in the morning as we arrived at night and didn't look outside!) but the double glazing quelled any noise. Makoto was a very attentive host ensuring that we had all the information we required to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. He was alos a fountain of knowledge of things to see and do. However for us the real gem was walking around Nishi Orgi settlement itself, we discovered lots of quaint little shops and lots of good art plus craft and knick knack shops so do wander. The local food is awesome and if you want to cook in the supermarket is right on your doorstep and has a wide range of usual and interesting foods.

The title should tell it all, the little apartment in nishi-ogikubo was very cute, cosy and comfortable. Makoto (the staff member who dealt with our accommodation) was extremely helpful and I should also mention a total crack up. He was there waiting for us at the train station at check-in & went through everything we needed to know about the apartment. I would highly recommend using some of the services available to travellers staying at the apartment especially when it comes to lugging heavy bags to Narita airport (trust me, my partner & I didn't do this & suffered because of it, my shouler was playing up).
The apartment itself was very clean, had everything we needed for our trip & A lot of cupboard space for storing luggage & other goods. We had two friends stay with us for a week so the apartment can comfortably fit 4 adults. The only thing I think the apartment needed was a few shelves in the bathroom for when I was changing clothes. The location was convenient, I would recommend spending time in neigbouring Nakano at sun boulevard for anime fans. It is right next to the train track but we slept fine (and none of us are heavy sleepers). To sum up, a very warm & welcoming apartment, I'd definitely stay there again, I'm already planning my next trip! -

Moruya Heads NSW AustraliaFantastic apartment in a great suburb of Tokyo
Left on 01/15/2011 for a stay in October 2010
Had a great week stay. It was easy to get to and from the apartment and we met some fantastic people who live in the suburb. Great places to eat and easy access to supermarkets, public transport and tourist attractions. Apartment was very clean, had everything we needed and it was quiet in the room despite the railway being close. In fact the railway was a main attraction for our 7 year old. Makato was fantastic making our stay really memorable and fun.Hope to come back in a year for a month.
