      Very comfortable and convenient!

Left on 04/29/2013 for a stay in January 2013

We stayed for 5 nights in January 2013 as part of our Tokyo stopover on way to our skiing holiday in Japan. We have used this apartment rental company previously staying in their Nakano apartment. It was not available so Makoto recommended this Nishi Ogikubo 2bdr apartment as an alternative and we were pleased he did. Apartment is in a Great location, 5 min walk from the train station, (surprisingly no train or traffic noise though) thru a great supermarket which has everything you could possibly want for your stay. Nishi is vibrant with lots of eating choices, or just self cater from the huge range available in the supermarket, and plenty to see and experience within easy walking distance. Train access to Tokyo and beyond is easy from Nishi Ogikubo. Apartment itself was great, warm for winter stay, once you cranked up the air con heating, a little more spacious than the Nakano 2bdr, with comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, and ample area for family of 4 to relax in after a long day of sight seeing around Tokyo. The company rep, Makoto was friendly and helpful, as he was on our previous 2 visits, and a great entertainment to our young teenage boys to practice their Japanesse skills on. All in all, a good choice for Tokyo accommodation away from the hotel offerings and the more touristy areas. With this otion you can experience the real Tokyo and typical Tokyo apartment life.

      Nishi-ogi is the best!

Left on 03/02/2012 for a stay in February 2012

Thrilled with decision to stay out in Nishi-ogikubo -- Tokyo's own version of Berkeley, Ca.
The apartment is extremely convenient to train station, but very quiet, spacious and well furnished with everything you could need for a stay of a week or more. Small soaker tub is a nice touch, and kitchen is great. I wouldn't call it high style but it's fine, and you are steps from the myriad galleries, boutiques and funky cafés of Nishi-ogi. 24 x 7 supermarket makes shopping a breeze even if you are "lost in translation." Zenpukuji Park is a brisk walk away, and Kichijoji 2 km down the tracks. If you have JR Rail Pass, you will travel free to Tokyo on the Chuo line. Love this area!!

      Simple, nice & convenient

Left on 02/15/2012 for a stay in February 2012

There're 6 of us staying in this apartment. We're staying for 4 nights.

Overall I like this apartment so much...Firstly is that it's near to the train station (only 5min walking distance), secondly there're 7-eleven & mini supermarket (Seiyu) nearby that open 24/7 (3min walking distance), thirdly you can easily find restaurant around the apartment area & the food is value for money & lastly it's safe to stay. All the toiletries are well provided & you'll safe some space in your luggage to pack more things back.

I would say I only have 1 comment which is the electricity supply. At any 1 point of time, we can only on 2 electrical items otherwise the electricity will be off automatically.

Thanks to Mr Makoto for his help & explanation on everything to us. I'll definitely going to stay here again & strongly recommended to all my friend.

A Great Way to Feel Like a Local

Left on 01/31/2012 for a stay in January 2012

My family and I spent 10 nights here in mid January 2012. The apartment is conveniently located very close to Nishi Ogikubo station and a very large supermarket, Seiyu. It's not a touristy section of Tokyo which we really enjoyed, lots of little local stores and restaurants. We loved having a kitchen so that breakfast could be eaten in the apartment, used the washing machine each day and the wi-fi worked great. (Please note that the listing says there is a dryer but it's not in the apartment but in a laundromat downstairs. They do provide drying racks though.) The apartment has plenty of room although the rooms are somewhat small. There is some train noise in the apartment but not to the point of being annoying (and we're used to country quiet).

Great place for exploring Tokyo, big enough for a group of adult

Left on 12/20/2011 for a stay in December 2011

I stayed in this apartment for a week in December 2011 with four other adults. We initially chose this location because of our budget, but this was a great place for us to stay (clean, great location, and quiet) and we will be staying there again in the future when we come back!

Makoto met us at the train station (we came in late as our plane was delayed) and was very accommodating of our schedule and even helped us plan some of our trip.

The apartment itself has a lot of storage room in the various closets and was spacious enough for all of us. One of us thought the beds were too hard, but the rest of us had no problem. If you don't like firm mattresses you're out of luck. We were worried (as westerners) that we might find the shower and bathroom small, but in fact it was larger than in some of our apartments back home.

There is a washer in the apartment and a laundromat next door with dryers so you really can pack light and not worry too much about having clean clothing. I would have packed much lighter had I known how easy this would be to do! The apartment also comes with linens, towels, soaps, shampoo and conditioner.

I thought that we would feel a bit far out of Tokyo, but that is not the case. Nishi-Ogikubo itself is actually a very happening area with many small restaurants, bars, shops, 7-11 (perfect for the aTM) and Karaoke! The train station is less than a minute walk away and you can be at Shinjuku station in 15 minutes and from there can get anywhere in the Tokyo area (or further out for day trips on the Shinkansen).

With the wifi in the apartment, we were also able to make all of the arrangements we needed before going out. There is no phone though, so be prepared to use a payphone at the train station if you're not renting one or don't have an international plan.

This apartment worked out very well for us and I would definitely recommend it as a great place from which to explore Tokyo and have an authentic experience.
