Oxford, EnglandGreat apartment, fantastic service!
Left on 03/03/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We stayed in Bruce's apartment for 3 nights in February and it was everything we needed for a short stay in Tokyo. As a couple we didn't make use of the second bedroom but it would comfortably sleep more than 2 or a small family.
Great location in a quiet residentially area a few stops from Shibuya. Bruce met us at the station even though we arrived quite late in the evening and gave us lots of help and tips. The apartment was well equipped with everything you would need and expect from a hotel even down to the small details - shampoo, hairdryer, laundry facilities etc. Even though it was chilly outside the air con units and electric blanket made it lovely and cosy to stay.
The mobile wifi was another great addition and I would highly recommend staying in one of Bruce's apartment to anyone! -

Left on 02/24/2013 for a stay in February 2013
The apartment was located 3 stops from Shibuya on the local denatoshi line. ( a trick for getting to the skytree stay on this line and it changes into the line which goes to the skytree tower).
Th apartment was great with all you need and easily acceable from the local subway station. It would be a bit difficult to find but Bruce the owner meets you at the station to show you the way. Best to arrive in daylight so you can get your bearings although it is straightforward.
The apartment in two floors above ground level and is in a very quiet area.
The pocket wi fi provided by Bruce is fantastic. It gives you access to the internet for searching and finding restaruants and places of interest.
The restaruants in the area are cheap and great places to enjoy the local food.
We would definately stay at this apartment agin if we visit Tokyo -

Perth, AustraliaGreat apartment, with everything you need!
Left on 01/14/2013 for a stay in December 2012
I stayed at the apartment in December with my brother
The owner Bruce is a great guy, he provides you with great directions to the apartment (and if you have never been to Tokyo before the rail system can seem a little daunting at first so these directions were great)
He also met me at the station when I arrived late at night to help me get settled in, and was always contactable during our one week stay
The shining star of this apartment is the pocket wifi device that Bruce has, this means if you have a smartphone, tablet or notebook you can be connected 24/7 in the apartment, or out on the road around Tokyo, We used the pocket wifi a heap when we were staying at the apartment, it was very useful for using maps, and looking for good shops and restaurants during our stay!
The apartment has two good sized bedrooms, a dining room and couch, a decent sized kitchen with all of the cooking utensils you would need, and a separate shower room and toilet. The apartment also comes with a washer / dryer on the balcony which is extremely handy! The buttons are in Japanese so could possibly do with some English instructions but it was easy enough to figure out
The apartment is located a short 5min walk from the Komazawa-daigaku Station which is about three stops from Shibuya which was great
There is also a large supermarket just around the corner that sells everything you need, and makes for a cheap way to have breakfast and some lunches / dinners during your stay -

Left on 08/29/2012 for a stay in August 2012
My wife, myself and two teenage children have just returned from Tokyo where we rented this very comfortable two bedroom apartment. The two bedrooms were each airconditioned and the eating area off the kitchen was cooled by a ceiling fan. The galley kitchen was well supplied. We prepared breakfasts and dinners in the apartment. We were a 5 minute walk from a grocery store called Bon Visage and about 10 minutes from a much larger grocery store. The neighbourhood was residential, clean and quiet. We really enjoyed our stay here and would return. The owner, Bruce, was extrememly personable and provided us with great service. He met us at the local metro station upon our arrival and walked us to the apartment. He provided suggestions re where to shop and eat locally. He could be easily reached by phone. This is a great set-up for a family. My children shared a large bedroom, my son on a futon on the floor and my daughter on a double or queen size bed (we are not sure which but it was a good size). We did our own laundry. Thank you Bruce!

Our stay in Bruce's flat was perfect! The space was just enough for 5 of us, the neighborhood was just the place we wanted to retire to after a long and tiring day in the city and the amenities in the apartment were complete. Bruce was very welcoming when he met us at the train station. He was there despite our evening arrival and brought us to the apartment and explained everything in detail. We did not have to contact him again about anything because his instructions were very thorough. We will definitely stay in one of Bruce's flats next time we are in Tokyo.
Thanks, Bruce!!!

Left on 03/03/2012 for a stay in February 2012
We visited Tokyo in February of 212 and loved this apartment. It's not big, but it was certainly big enough for me, my husband and our two kids (7 and 9). We loved having a place to put the kids to bed at night, a kitchen to prepare food on the few occasions we wanted to and a washing machine to do a few loads of laundry. Bruce was great - meeting us at the train and checking in to make sure everything was going well. Even though it was not in the "central" part of Tokyo, we loved the neighborhood. In fact, one night we stopped at a local liquor store and were treated to a generous sampling of a large variety of sakes - can't beat that! All in all, it was just what we needed to explore this great city. I would definitely recommend this apartment to others.

Bruce was very accomodating with arrangements and super friendly. Apartment was roomy by Japanese standards. Only quibble was bed in one room had some loose supports which kept falling out! I'm sure this will get fixed as owner keen to provide a great experience. We went with two kids and this seemed perfect. Loved the art works on wall. Thanks for a great stay. Hopefully will be back soon!

We stayed in this great place over for New Year`s and it was just fantastic. The place is very well furnished the whole interior actually shows real taste which is somewhat unusual for rentals in Japan. The location is in Sangenjaya so close to Shibuya if you need it but also somewhat relaxing if you`ve had enough of it. Bruce is a super, super nice guy who took great care of all we needed and I will defenitely stay with him again.

Bruce is the perfect host! He was most accommodating and flexible with our arrival time.
The apartment was enough for our family of four. The train station was within walking distance. It was nice to be able to make breakfast in the kitchen before heading out. The neighborhood was quiet and we felt safe.
Thanks for offering a cozy apartment Bruce!

We rented the apartment for 10 days, a perfect location for discovering Tokyo! Centrally located to subway station, about a 5 minute walk only. Very friendly and helpful landlord. Apartment is of a good size, nice and clean, comfortable beddings, extremely quiet and very cosy. Free Wi-Fi. Kitchen was well equipped and catered well to our needs. It looked so beautiful how could a person go wrong in staying there!

Landlord met us at the train station and walked us to the apartment. He was pleasant and helpful. The apartment is very small but adequate for most peoples needs. However as we were there in late January we found it very cold. The air-con style heating barely gave out any heat and in one bedroom there were big holes in the wall/floor around a pipe that didn't help to keep the heat in. There was only a very small two seater couch to sit on and as there were four of us and we were cold we tended to sit on the beds, under the blankets to keep warm anyway.
Anyone perhaps used to back-packing or camping might be fine with this apartment but personally I would not stay there again.Response from Bruce - 08/22/2011

Thank-you for your comments:
(1) Your experiences are very typical for Japanese winter in its peak of January and February. Unfortunately our buildings throughout the country do not employ central heating nor do they use insulation; rather they used local heaters. Please refer the following links-

The experience was wonderful, we had a spacious apartment with a washer to do laundry, two bedrooms, small kitchen with dining room, and separate bathrooms. There are air conditioner in each bedrooms. Wireless internet access, though we kind of wish there was a TV, but we manage with our laptops. 7-11 and McDonald was our main food staple on the go. Small grocery store and drug store within walking distance and a quick box bento takeout place. It is about a 7-10 min walk from the Komazawa-daigaku station and Shibuya is 3 stops away.

Left on 05/22/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We stayed in the apartment in May with our 8-month old twins. Bruce was there to meet us on arrival and showed us everything we needed. He even carried our (numerous) suitcases for us!
The apartment was clean, spacious and well equipped. It was nice having a tatami room as well as laminate floored rooms, and wireless internet access was also a great bonus. It's about 10 minutes' walk from the station in a residential area, with a small supermarket close by and plenty of other shops within a few minutes' walk (including a drugstore selling baby food! :) We traveled into central Tokyo with the babies by train and also by taxi, finding taxi much easier and not too expensive.
Negatives for us as travelers with babies were: no lift (the apartment is on the 3rd floor) and no TV. Still we much preferred this apartment to staying in a hotel and would definitely stay here again! -

SydneyGreat cheap accommodation close to the heart of Tokyo!
Left on 01/26/2011 for a stay in January 2011
My friends and I stayed here in early January for a birthday trip. Having stayed in Tokyo before I know how expensive it can be for accommodation, so we were looking for some alternative that also allowed us to be close to the main areas.
The apartment is great, being only 5 minutes away from Shibuya station with plenty of shops around the apartment for grocery and breakfest purposes. The apartment is also quite large for Tokyo, we managed to fit 7 adults in - which while a little squishy was more than fine for a short stay like ours, and at the price really couldn't be beat - and if you are a group of about 4 to 5 you definitely can't go past this place! -

I stayed at Bruce's Shabuya station apartment in October 2010. Bruce was a pleasure to deal with. He made every effort to stay connected to me right up until I arrived in Japan with 4 kids in-tow! The apartment was spacious by Japanese standards, very clean and bright. Hot water, dishes, close to stores for groceries, transit near by, quite and with a laptop & the internet. made down loading our pictures a breeze. This was my first experience traveling out of the United Sates and with 4 of my children. Bruce made the initial rental experience simple to understand and convenient. I would rent from Bruce again and would recommend you stay at this apartment.

Bruce was great, he met us and made sure we were settled but then pretty much left us to our own devices. The flat is clean and comfortable. It's in a quiet neighbourhood but the bars and restaurants of Sangenjaya and Shimokitazawa are nice and close. We had a great time!

I enjoyed a pleasant stay here with my girlfriend, my brother and his girlfriend and my cousin. It is located about a 7 minute walk away from Komazawa-Daigaku station which is just 3 stops away from Shibuya so it's very close the heart of Tokyo while being situated in a peaceful area. Every was clean and tidy when I got there and the 2 bedrooms were reasonably spacious, especially considering the average sized bedrooms in Tokyo. Best of all, all of this was for a very affordable price and I would definitely recommend staying here and I would definitely be happy to return to there again.

Left on 09/22/2010 for a stay in September 2010
This was a lovely apartment located in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Everything is fairly close by including the train. The apartment comes with bikes to getting around is fairly easy. There is an amazing park within walking or biking distances from the apartment. The park is a perfect place to go swimming or just spend sometime away from the hustle of Tokyo. I would recommend this place for anyone who plans on staying in Tokyo for any extensive amount of time. It's much better than an expensive hotel. Plus Bruce is very helpful.
