Shibuya-Compact2bedroom designer space located just to the west of Shibuya. The space has and has spectacular views of Central Tokyo. Shibuya station is really the heart of West-side Tokyo. This Compact-2bedroom space is in Ikejiri a short walk west of Shibuya-13 minutes. The space has great subway, bus and AIRPORT access. But from here you will find that the city is really at your feet-why not just walk as many Tokyoites do to Shibuya, Harajuku, Yoyogi Park, Nakameguro, Ebisu, Daikanyama, Aoyama. It is really my favorite area of Tokyo. This area is constantly remaking itself in creative, exciting ways with all kinds of restaurants, bars and shopping of any sort--simply the best area in ToKy0 in my opinion.

We stayed for 7 days in this apartment, and loved it like we loved staying in another of Bruce's Shibuya apartments back in 2011 :)
Location is great, near Ikejiri-Ohashi station and very easy to get around the city from. It felt safe, residential, lovely cafés and bars nearby.
One detail that made all the difference : the pocket WiFi furnished with the rental was amazing to have. Having Lte-speed internet everywhere we went (and battery lasts about 8 hours), was a life-saver and allowed us to be much more agile with our plans and lazy with our planning. Google Maps everywhere without hunting for a data plan!
We were in april and it got a little cold outside, so it got cold inside as well. It's no surprise that older Tokyo apartments are badly insulated; the front door is a sheet of metal and the bathroom has open gratings... We kept the heating on overnight when it got too cold and we were fine.
The view from the 13th floor was amazing to wake up to. We caught an amazing sunset, and we could actually see Fujiyama in the distance when visibility was good enough.
Having a washing machine is really handy, and even if there's no dryer, we could hang clothes outside that would dry up in a day.
We used the kitchen to cook breakfast and make coffee everyday, which is definitely cheaper than eating out every morning, and one could cook a full dinner in there too but we chose to sample local restaurants instead!
In short, excellent place to stay, and Bruce was great to escort us from the station to the apartment when coming in. Recommended! -

Found these apartments by chance and was incredibly impressed. Great service by the owner Bruce, very friendly and accommodating. The apartments we stayed in were very clean and nicely furnished with all the essentials included, not to mention the amazing locations of the two we stayed in. If you are staying in Tokyo on any budget, this is the place for you. When I come back to Japan I'll definitely be looking these up again. 10/10

We really enjoyed the apartment. It was central and had everything we needed. We really appreciated the cooking and washing facilities as well a proximity to local supermarkets and restaurants.
The views of fuji from the front door was a holiday highlight.
Bruce was great, friendly and made us very welcome.
Overall it was so much more relaxed than a hotel.

3 friends enjoyed 14 Days in Tokyo in this great little place.
Bruce's description to find the apartment was detailed, easy and his personal reception was helpful and friendly. We had some troubles at the airport with our luggages and Bruce helped us to get them to the apartment, thanks again:-)
The area around the apartment was a quiet quarter with many restaurants, bars and groceries. The metro was a short walk (about 5-10min) and the bus stop (about 1min) next to the apartment.
The apartment was small, clean, and practically furnished, we felt like at home:-) the mobile internet device was great and having a wash machine too.
P.S For all the night-walkers or shopping-junkies;you'll find a 7eleven around the corner with an international aTM!

Good communication from the Landlord, from initial booking to checkout..
This place was compact and simple, but contained the essentials we needed, such as washer and internet. Quiet, friendly neighbors and even the maintenance guy was nice to us. Close to bus, rail, cafes, bars, shops etc. We really enjoyed our stay and Bruce really took care of us with helpful hints of the local area and Tokyo. Highly recommended if you want a basic apartment offering good value in a top location.

This apartment is in a wonderful, safe, and fun neighborhood which is filled with restaurants and convenient to everything in Tokyo. We found both the subway and the bus very convenient to the building. We particularly liked being walking distance to several stellar "third wave" espresso places, the closest being Nozy; Bear Pond, Streamer, Omotesando Koffee, and Be a Good Neighbor were fun walks. The local bakeries and grocery stores were excellent. Many thanks to Bruce for being unfailingly kind and helpful. Having a washing machine was great, and the apartment is extremely clean and functional with comfortable beds and a even a little balcony with a view.

Stayed here for two weeks with my spouse and 19-year old. A compact space (typical for Japan), well-appointed and extremely conveniently located. Wifi and washing machine (no dryer but hanging clothespin hangers, typical of Japan) were a definite bonus!!! Convenience store right downstairs and a great variety of reasonably priced restaurants along the street, a grocery store, several bakeries and post office right around the corner. The landlord, Bruce, was most accommodating, easily accessible when you needed answers, and otherwise stays out of your way so you can enjoy a real Japanese residential experience. The subway station was about 10 minutes walk away, and the bus stop was about one minute away -- made Shibuya station and points beyond easily accessible. Also walking distance to Sangenjaya, a funky neighbourhood that we really enjoyed. Great park across the main road. Look for the midori no michi in the neighbourhood behind the building -- a real gem in the metropolis.

This place was perfect for us - 2 adults and 2 young children. We had convenience stores just downstairs as well as restaurants all around the area. We also walked to a local park which the kids loved. Transport was close. Bruce was a friendly and helpful host, very generous and only too happy to assist with all of our needs. When our laptop failed he even lent his own tablet to us!! I left a bracelet there and he was kind enough to post it back to me. A very kind man. We will definitely stay in one of Bruce's apartments again next time! An excellent alternative to hotel living, good views, comfortable bed and can wash own clothes there. Thanks very much Bruce.

This is a clean and comfortable place to stay when visiting Tokyo.It was very suited to my needs as a single traveler. I was able to access public transit easily--the subway is about two blocks away and the bus stops near the apartment. I could visit with my family easily and independently.The view of Tokyo is spectacular and the neighborhood is safe.Restaurants abound and shopping centers are within walking distance.
