Wow, so much good to tell! Everyone has to do this trip at least once. We might do it again.
Casa Brown is getting to that age where it needs some TLC. I could be picky, but I'll be nice since we had such a great time. Maria the housekeeper was great!
Sunsets beyond belief!
Good, but not great. I've been to so many resorts in my lifetime. Rancho Santana is a great adventure, but only a good resort.
It is still in the first quarter for this resort. I'm hoping for great things in the future. Good luck! -

We cannot recommend Rancho Santana or Casa Brown high enough. Everything about this trip was excellent and will be remembered among our most memorable Christmases. Booking was easy, arranging pre arrival logistics was handled very well, we were picked up at Managua airport and driven to Rancho Santana (this is a big recommendation, driving is a bit hairy and signage on the roads is not good) took a few hours but gave a good appreciation of the countryside. We arranged prestocked groceries which were delivered as we ordered, next time we would stop at a grocery store on the way and stock up ourselves (grocery stores we went to later were pretty good). Had a hire car delivered next day which allowed us to explore the region and again we would recommend this, was delivered to the door and they came back and picked it up. The house was fantastic, exactly as the photos show, big enough for the five of us (two adults and three teenage children) and of course right on the beach (Playa Rosada), the surf was great fun at Playa Santana and swimming was great. Activities were easily arranged through Ditmara at the store, we hired surf boards, boogey boards, went horse riding and nature walks all of which we highly recommend doing. The beaches further south in the property are also beautiful and we hardly saw another sole. The clubhouse has a great pool and a very nice restaurant, service was excellent and the quality of the food above average. We had two evening meals supplied and cooked for us in the house and again everything was superb, Mario the Chef was fantastic. Overall we were extremely happy with everthing and could not find any faults, great place to stay, wonderful dedicated people and a great Country to visit.

Visited Casa Brown while in Nicaragua celebrating my sisters's 50th birthday; most definately a highlight of our vacation. The road to get to Rancho Santana may slow you down some but the drive is well worth your time. The home is nice and clean and decorated beautifully to make you feel at home upon entering. So much so that you really don't want to leave it! We managed to pull ourselves away for dinner at the clubhouse both nights we were there and the food was delicious!! I highly recommend the lobster and might I add it won't break the bank. It's just a short walk to the clubhouse, no need for wheels. We felt very secure during our stay. There is always security around and they know exactly who everybody is and where they are staying. It was also nice having Maria around during the day to answer any questions we had and to keep everything in order. Did I mention the gorgeous eternity pool looking out onto the ocean and waking up to the sound of waves!!! Paradise! My one complaint is that our stay was not long enough! Hope to visit Nic again one day and return to Casa Brown.
