Middleborough, Massachusetts USAAn idyllic retreat and memories made for a lifetime...
Left on 04/05/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Sabal Beach was exactly what my partner and I needed. We didn't want our first trip together to be a run of the mill, touristy experience. It was everything we expected it to be and more. A paradise on earth for just the two of us. David is an excellent host. He was more than helpful when it came to planning our adventure from start to finish. We walked the beach every day and saw something different and wondrous. Cougar and iguana tracks, stingrays near the shore. Birds galore! There were parrots that came around every morning. Brown pelicans, herons and egrets were a common sight too. I have to say without reservation, our favorite spot was at the end of the dock, where we watched the sunrise every morning with our coffee and occasionally the company of a manatee or dolphin. Fishing with the locals, a tour of the Monkey River and snorkeling at the barrier reef are some of the things David arranged for us to do.We both enjoyed ourselves immensely. Truly the trip of a lifetime and one that will be hard to match. We will be back...without a doubt.

Maine, USABeautiful and remote beach location

If David Thoreau had moved to Belize instead of Walden Pond, this is the place he'd of built (except add solar power, hot shower and comfy double bed). David, the owner, is fantastic. He makes all logistics and prep easy. He arranged an epic day bone fishing for me with George. But when I told him I wanted to remain quiet and alone for the reminder of my trip he kindly disappeared. The place is so beautiful, words fall short. Pack plenty of your own food cause there is nothing around for miles and miles, which is what makes the place special.

Still amazed you landed 15 bonefish in one day! Hope to see you back at Sabal Beach in the future.

My stay at Sabal Beach was relaxing, re-energizing, and restorative. David and Wayne have created a pristine strip of paradise surrounded by the beauty and bounty of Belize. Enjoying a cold cocktail during sunset seemed to always invite the sky to clear, compelling the stars to engulf the night with their endless sparkle. I would recommend this eco resort for those who are looking for a unique and tranquil escape.

We had a fantastic time at Sabal Beach. The owners arranged for a taxi to meet us at the airport, take us shopping and then dropped us at a pre-arranged boat for a gorgeous trip down the shore to the property.
We arrived late in the afternoon and had a fantastic sunset behind the studio to welcome us. The apartment itself is fairly basic but was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.
The true beauty of this spot is that you will have it pretty much all to yourself. The beach and swimming is fantastic here with no sea grass and a nice fine sand.
We kayaked around the shoreline and to a small sunken caye about 3/4 of a mile in front of the property where we did a bit of snorkeling. We also went snorkeling by the reef and on a Monkey River tour on two separate days and thoroughly enjoyed both trips.
Overall this was exactly what we were looking for - a beautiful, unpopulated and quiet beach to relax and enjoy time with each other.Response from Sabal Beach - 12/05/2011
