Set in 100 acres of peaceful farm and woodland, this is one of two cottages that back onto a superb 15th century castle (Butlerstown Tower House). Traditionally furnished, with oak floor boards and wooden beamed ceilings, each cottage is newly refurbished. Tranquil setting with private herb garden and lavender haggard on each side. Donkeys, hens and sheep for children to help feed. 10 mins drive from beach in the sunniest corner of Ireland. 15 mins from Rosslare Port and Kilmore Quay fishing village. Within easy reach of the sea, there is a different beach to choose from for each day of the week! Nature flourishes here, and there is a lot of freedom for children with plenty to see and do. The Saltee Islands (wonderful sea bird heritage site) can be reached from the nearby fishing village, Kilmore Quay. Johnstown Castle Museum is nearby, as well as plenty of good restaurants, pubs, golf courses, riding schools, Tacumshin Lake, and much more. Parking is free and we are near the Ferry Port, Rosslare Harbour. Wexford town is 20 mins away.

LondonGorgeous cottage in beautiful surroundings

We had a lovely stay over New Year. The cottage is comfortable and warm, and beautifully done up with gorgeous rugs on the floor, antique furniture and interesting prints on the walls. It's very well equipped with everything you need and more. The kids loved the two ponies and the dog, and the freedom of running around the gardens and fields nearby. Jim and anna are very friendly and warm, dropping in a welcome bacon, eggs and bread for breakfast when we arrived late on a dark wintery evening. Jim gave us a fabulous tour of the castle and grounds. We enjoyed all the beaches particularly Kilmore Quay, and the walk to Tacumshin lake. Mary Barry's is a great pub around the corner with good food and atmosphere.
