DouglasHot, unbearable conditions

We stayed at this property over the long weekend, when temperatures reached the mid-thirties. Whilst the property itself was beautiful and accommodated our group of 6 adults and 4 children perfectly, the main issue we had was with the cooling system. The air conditioning worked fine the first night, and then stopped working on the second day. We followed the instructions given for the unit and it was still actually warmer inside the unit than out. The worst part was that the bedrooms were located upstairs and most of the windows were locked with no key to open them. This made for unbearable sleeping conditions and uncomfortable conditions during the day. Calls made to the after hours maintanance number were unreturned. We were very disappointed with this issue and felt it was a shame given how nice the property was otherwise.

The most impressive thing about Torquay The Sands Holiday homes, is that they live up to everything that is mentioned on the internet. They are well presented, tidy, they are fitted with modern appliances, and have an abundance of accessories and utensils for your use. We were holidaying as a group of 10 young adults, and we had a amazing time. It was relaxing, we could party till 11pm each night and we were a few metres away from the pool. The Sands is also a 5 minute drive away from the main township of Torquay, so it was alot quieter in the area. A suitable place for young people, families and retirees to holiday. We were glad to hear they do not accept schoolies as well.
