We booked the apartment for the Christmas break and on first impression the apartment layout and design was great but once we looked closer we found the apartment to be dirty.
Firstly the outdoor balcony had dirty streaky windows. The outdoor furniture still had a beer bottle full of cigarettes and covered in bird droppings. (Refer to pictures)
Secondly, the complimentary body soap\conditioner and shampoo in both bathrooms (Refer to pictures) was used by the previous tenants and never replaced. I would rather no complimentary items than to use someone else's.
Thirdly, The bedroom were no very clean as there was dust everywhere (Refer to pictures) . I don't think the bed side tables have been wiped down in months , the dead moths collected from the main bedroom floor or fly's removed from the other bedroom
Lastly, we had only 1 usable wine glass as the other 2 had cracks in the glass. (Refer to pictures)
It's a shame the cleaners ruined my experience and therefore your review, I think if the above items had been resolved and we had a clean apartment I would have recommended the apartment to others and provided an excellent review

We agree this is not up to our regular standards and have addressed with our cleaners. As with the wine glasses which we replaced immediately we also will send cleaners if there are any issues on check in.

Beautiful place, lovely location.
Great communication with one exception. When I asked management around 1.30-2pm on the day of arrival how early we could check in, (with check in time being at 3pm) they told me they would just check and to stand by until they could let me know. We heard nothing from them so at 3pm we checked in. It would have been nice to have them get back to us to let us know either way.

The unit was fine - great layout for holidays with living area upstairs and all together.
However, like all such rental units it comes with lots of rules for the visitor about cleanliness snd pets but either the owner has, or a previous guest had, cats and so there was cat hair everywhere - our teenage sone, as teenagers do, lay down on the mat in the living room to watch TV and was covered in cat hair.Response from Retreats Victoria - 07/16/2012

Making reservations and getting all the necessary information about keys, etc was very easy and staff correspondence/instructions very efficient. The property had lovely furnishings, comfortable beds and good quality linens. It was situated at the back of the resort, with a peek of the golf course, about 10 minutes stroll to the beach. We did not utilise any of the resort amenities, so I can't comment on that. The only things that detracted a little bit from this property was the layer of dust on the skirtings in all rooms, including the bathrooms, cobwebs on some walls and the marks on the walls along the stairs. The only reason it stood out was because the rest of the property was so lovely that it made something as small as dust very obvious. Apart from that, we had a lovely stay and it is a really nice property.

Beautiful house spacious and really well equipped. The only thing that didn't work was the weather but we could cook a great meal watch a movie and be close to Torquay
